  • Hi everyone! Yesterday I went for a shakeout 4.1km. My legs still felt pretty heavy, so I was a bit sceptical about doing the HM in under 2 hours today. In the afternoon we went on a hike with the kids, which was fun, even if it is not the smartest thing to do right before a longer race. My plan was to do the first 5km at…
  • I have been too busy to post. My goal for May is 160km. I think my body wants to dial down the mileage for one more month before building it up again. I have a half marathon race in my city tomorrow. Part of it is even on my usual running route. I went on a shakeout 10.3km yesterday and my pulse was quite high for the…
  • What a race report @TheMrWobbly ! It sounded like it was reaaaaalllly hard race and you made it through! It’s great your family was there to cheer you on! It sounds like pre-race was pretty stressful. Great job!!! @katrose1985 Welcome! @quilteryoyo It sounds like you are keeping very active! Good job on all the planting!…
  • Hi everyone! I was hoping to get to 160km this month, but woke up really dizzy the other day so didn’t run and ended April up short with 152.9/200km. Since I needed recovery that’s ok with me. I wasn’t really sure what would be obtainable right before and right after the marathon. We‘ll see if I can set an obtainable…
  • @AlphaHowls I wish you and your mother the best! I hope her rehab is going well. It sounds like a horrible situation for both of you! You are doing all that you can to be there for her! @martaindale Fingers crossed you continue to feel better get all you smell and energy back again soon! @Scott6255 Wow! 3:30 to run! That’s…
  • Hi everyone! So yesterday was my 100km bike race. As you probably all know, I don’t spend much time biking, because I just love running soooo much. However, when there is such a big event in my city and all the streets are closed just for the race, it is hard to resist signing up for a 100km race… From the marathon…
  • @quilteryoyo I’m glad you got a win in tennis this time! @martaindale I am sorry to hear you are sick with Covid. I hope you feel better soon! @tarun_yadavA Have a great trip to Italy! @Scott6255 It’s so nice that you were able to get a nice long run in with your brother! Even if it was a hills one ;).
  • Hi everyone! I haven’t had time to post lately, but I had a nice and easy running week. The weather was super wintery and below freezing at the beginning of the week with snow, ice, and sleet. Then it progressed to rain and now we are looking at 20C (68) for my 100km cycling race on Sunday. True spring weather! Due to the…
  • Hi everyone! It was snowing here this morning (!) but had stopped by the time I went on my run. Had to get my gloves and jacket on but I was just glad to be out running in whatever weather. I ran 10.3km. Great job on your races @martaindale ! You are definitely the best dressed runner I know :). It sounds like it was a…
  • Good morning everyone! I finally let myself go out on a run. My body seems like it wants a bit more recovery time, but it felt nice to be out. I ran 6km. 118.1/200km for April.
  • @kgirlhart Happy belated birthday! I love your attitude- I’m old enough I’ll do what I want ;) @7lenny7 Those are some very thoughtful gifts! @martaindale It sounds like you had a really fun 5k. I hope tomorrow’s race goes well! @daria0919 Good luck on your 10k!!! You got this! @TheMrWobbly Good luck on Sunday! Enjoy it!…
  • @AlphaHowls Prayers to your mom and you!!!
  • @tarun_yadavA I just read @quilteryoyo ’s post. I agree a selfie could be helpful and “proof” of your “meeting” IRL, so maybe run with him a few meters to get a selfie in. What mile did you say you are at? Somewhere in the first half if I remember correctly?
  • @7lenny7 Wow! That sounds like an amazing race! What an accomplishment! I’m glad you made it safe and sound and had an “enjoyable “ race. I can’t believe they had taken down all the finish line stuff before the cutoff. Yes, it’s a long race, but that is a given in a 100mile race. They should at least wait until the cutoff…
  • Hi everyone! The marathon today was great! I got a PB which was over 36 minutes faster than my best marathon and finished in 4:19:33. There were still a couple rough patches (mentally) but I had fun through the suffering ;). If you’re interested my race report is below. 112.1/200km for April.
  • Hi everyone! Less than 1 hour till my start. The weather is a bit windy. Temperature is perfect. I’m ready to go. Pressing my own thumbs ;).
  • Thanks for the tips everyone! I will try to post a race picture with my final clothing selection :). I already did my run this morning. 5km on the treadmill in my hotel. Maybe not the best place to run. The workout room was in the sauna area and it felt what I imagine “Texas humid” to feel like ;). 69.5/200km for April.
  • @eleanorhawkins My condolences. I am also sorry to hear about your grandmother. @tarun_yadavA Yes, people press their thumbs here for luck. It’s a favorite phrase of mine to directly translate into English because it just sounds so odd. I’m not supposed to run today. It feels weird after running so little this week. I’m…
  • Hi everyone! This taper week before the marathon has been super busy for me. Even though my runs are short, I’ve had to really squeeze them in. Today was 3.2km and yesterday 6.5 km (3km at race pace) and stiess 4.6km. So far 64.5km/200km.
  • I went on a short 5.5km run on Saturday. We finally had nice weather over here, so I spend a lot of time outside and biking around with the kids both Saturday and Sunday. Having that much sun all of a sudden did tire me out, so I took Sunday off and went on a 7.5km run this morning. I only have short runs planned from now…
  • @yirara At least here in northern Germany where I live and run I would claim that it's been dark pretty much since November. This week the sun has come out and I have no idea what do to with it ;). But generally, it does make me happier when the weather is friendlier (brighter) without making me feel like I am baking in an…
  • Hi everyone! I just got finished with a 10 miler at what hopefully will be my race pace. It went well and only rained lightly. It was hard to adjust my pace with the wind which, as usual, was quite strong especially on the second half of the run after my turn around point. So if it is windy and rainy on race day, I suppose…
  • Hi everyone! I did an easy recovery 4.5km today on the treadmill because I didn’t want to get wet and muddy for such a short run. I’m so looking forward to my last long run tomorrow, although the weather forecast has been suggesting I will probably get drenched. @tarun_yadavA and @quilteryoyo That is so cool that you met…
  • Hi everyone and greetings to those joining the group @Knyvern and @Emilienewme ! I went on an easy 7.2km run. I wanted to do more, but I will be good and follow the taper ;). It was windy and raining and also muddy and slippery in parts. I didn’t fall but I did slide around a bit. 16.3/200km for April.
  • Hi everyone! Taper officially started. I thought I would get my tempo run out of the way after checking my weather app and seeing that there wasn’t much wind. It was wet and rainy but I hit my splits really well and surprised myself with how fast the run was. I ran 9km. @AlphaHowls im sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I…
  • I‘m not quite sure about my mileage goal for April, as I probably won’t be running too much post marathon and will be prepping for my road bike race. I’m going to say 200km :).
  • Hi everyone! I just got back from an Easter run in the sun. It finally is fully warm here. First day of the year with just shorts and a t-shirt on. It felt a bit strange but nice :). I ran 10.2km. My final March total is 241.2km/250km.
  • Good morning everyone! I just finished an 11.6km run. It is quite warm outside and was the first time this year where I wished I had worn shorts ;). @daria0919 I’m sorry to hear about those people giving you such a hard time about parking to go on a run. I have had several similar experiences with parking or just moving…
  • Hope you have a nice trip and golfing fun @Scott6255 ! @tarun_yadavA I am always very confused about car rentals in the states and which of my 3 driver’s licenses (VA, Ger, or Intl) I should be using and what consequences there could be if I make the “wrong” choice. I needed to get a long run in this week, so I went for an…
  • Hi everyone! I had a longer break than expected today so I got a 10.3km run in - in a t-shirt :). I was supposed to go easy pace, but it was the first time I’ve been out this year when it was perfectly warm and sunny and I just couldn’t help picking it up a bit. No worries though, tomorrow morning should be back to the…
