Hi everyone! Today I talked myself into doing 3x 7 minute intervals. It was hard but I was able to hold my target splits and am now feeling slightly more ready for my 10km “salami run” on New Year’s Eve. The ground was quite muddy in parts but luckily that was mostly during my warm-up/cool down. It did make the path…

Hi everyone! Yesterday I did a sprint workout. I was off the mark with most of the split times bit still incredibly grateful that I got the run done. I was a bit underdressed and there was freezing rain and wind, so that part wasn’t all that pleasant. I ran 13.2km. The day then warmed up and in the evening I played 50…

@tarun_yadavA What is a Baconator? I am sorry about your flat tyre ;), but hey, at least you got an awesome run in today! And of course now I had to check out my strava recap and feel the love ;)! Thanks everyone!! And now I’m already starting to plan my running goals for next year… Today was a bit colder out, so the…

Hi everyone! Like @Teresa502 and @martaindale I’ve also been swamped at work so far this month. ….and if there is no work, there are the kids plus all of the December festivities ;). In any case, it is a very busy month and I’ve been really grateful that I’ve been able to get out for a run every morning this week.…

Hi everyone! Finally checking in for December and slowly trying to get back in a groove. I came back Sunday night and went on a run every day to get a total of 46.4km. Tuesday I had a pretty awful run. I was planning on running 9km but at about 6km one of my ears felt a bit pinched from my headband and when I readjusted…

I’m very late in my November posting, but the trip ended to Bratislava was quite exhausting (fun too), but when I returned I was behind with everything and still am…. Last month I ran 137.9/200km. Given I physically could run for 1.5 weeks and then had to ease back into it, I am definitely ok with that.

Hi everyone! Thanks for the support @kgirlhart , @SummerSkier @scott6255, @quilteryoyo ! I am super happy to be back at it pain free! I couldn’t even run 100meters last week, so I’m just feeling really lucky. @tarun_yadavA Kofola is more a communism thing ;), developed as a coke alternative when coke wasn’t allowed and…

Hi everyone! Great job on your streak @tarun_yadavA and have a good trip! It’s good you got the driver’s license you need even if it ate into your run time! @daria0919 I think it is so cool you dreamed you were running a race you couldn’t run. And I totally would have picked up my t-shirt too! In 2020 the race organisers…

Hi everyone! I did another 65minutes on the elliptical. I had more pain after than before working out and was limping a lot afterwards. Sigh. I think I’m going to have to try some other cross training or take some rest days. Its always a shame when the motivation is there but the body can’t handle the training.…

Hi everyone! Thanks for the well wishes! I am doing what I can until my body allows me to do more. I hit the gym today for the first time in months so that I could use the elliptical. I was hoping it would loosen up my calf a bit. It is still quite tight and hurts especially when going down stairs but it is better than…

Hi Everyone! Great job on your race @martaindale ! It sounds like it was a really challenging scenic course. Sipping coffee while racing? I’ve never heard of anyone doing something like that over here. Even the Nordic walkers in the races are more serious. ;) @daria0919 I hope you can move around better soon and that the…

Hi everyone! Today I went out planning for a 12km out and back. I was enjoying the run so much and had some extra time so I turned it into a 16.3km run. I hardly ever run more than planned. It was once again great to be outside running. 101.7/200km for November.
-
Hi everyone! The weather here is quite dark, damp, and dreary, but I was so happy to get out for a run after not being able to go these past 2 days. I ran what I guess is my most common out and back 10.3km. 85.3/200km for November. I didn’t mean to make anyone jealous about vacation time although stuff like this was one of…
-
@tarun_yadavA You asked me about vacay a few days ago. We get 30 days. I definitely can’t complain about that! The trip I recently went on for 3 weeks with the kids was extra, as it was paid for by the health insurance to help me destress (which I definitely did!), so I will have quite a bit of vacation left at the end of…

Hi everyone! Yesterday’s run was cold and foggy. I had about an hour to run- then I had to change and get to a workshop at the uni. To my horror, of all things to forget, I forgot to bring pants (the American kind), and I wasn’t about to go to the workout wearing spandex, so I had to go home and was then late to the…

Hi everyone! I did get my run in today and was super proud that it happened after putting it off all morning. It was a beautiful fall day and some parts of my run were covered in a thick bed of leaves. I ran 8km. My watch died as soon as I hit the 8km mark and strangely Strava’s data says 8, while Garmin only gave me 7.8km…

Hi everyone! Yesterday I got in 7.5km to start November. I ran the first 4 with the kids on their bikes/scooters. They were pretty fast, so I had to run faster than my usual pace to keep up. It was nice though chatting with them and all getting some exercise. Today I’ve been putting off my run doing yard work, but I am…

Hi everyone! I hope to be more active again on the thread in November and am aiming for 200km.

Hi everyone! I’ve missed posting but have been trying to play catch up after 3 weeks away with minimal stress. I managed to finish the month with 196.6km/160. So, I have been getting quite a few runs in, even though I’ve also had many rest days. It has honestly been really hard transitioning from the almost transformative…
-
Hi everyone! I was aiming for a 16km today but, as I don’t really know how far the distances around here are, and there are many nature preserve areas you can’t go on, so I underestimated my route a bit. It was just getting prettier and prettier and I wanted to check it all out :). The run back was a bit harder because it…

Hi everyone! Yesterday, after 3 hours of cross training I had no energy for running. Today I got in a 4.6km run and then went to a 50 minute Tai Bo class, which was actually more work than the running, so I decided that was enough physical activity for today. I am taking a bike ride with the kids to the beach in a little…

@WarmJellyfish Rucking sounds like fun. Are you supposed to jog while rucking or is it more like hiking with a pack. One of the audiobooks I read recently talked extensively about it (I think it was “The Comfort Crisis”). I am happy to hear you have your water back on @quilteryoyo . Good luck “preparing” for you upcoming…

Hi everyone! I have been thinking about my goal for the month. Obviously after the marathon my first instinct is to sign up for a bunch of races, but luckily I am saved from myself this time by the lack of available races nearby - and I am already registered for the Hannover marathon in the spring. I am on my way right now…
-
So, I actually wanted to talk a little about the marathon yesterday. I don’t think I could have ever imagined what it feels like to run with 50,000 people before! I am sure @tarun_yadavA could because of his location on the London marathon course, but my last two marathons had 300 and 3,000 participants respectively. So I…

Hi everyone! Wow, such many bad things are going on in the one day I didn’t read my posts! @Scott6255 I’m really sorry to hear about your brother. It sounds line he got hurt pretty bad! I’m glad it wasn’t worse! @AlphaHowls I am sorry to hear that you are having to navigate even more challenges in caring for your mother. I…

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the good luck wishes. My heat starts tomorrow at 10:10 German time and I’m number 31360 if anyone wants to follow me ;). I hope to be done before 15 by sure. The weather forecast looks very nice for running. Today I did a 2 mile shakeout run and am now just trying to stay relaxed until…

Hi everyone! This morning, I got in an easy 5km run and some run form drills. It was dark, dreary, and rainy out, with some slug piles. So, just your stereotypical German fall day. I am still feeling good, kids are all back to good health, so I will knock on wood now and say that Sunday is on :). I'm heading to Berlin…

Hi Everyone, My run went well this morning and I really enjoyed being out. The running conditions were ideal and it rained a lot last night and this morning too, but not until I had finished my run. Can't complain about that! I ran 9.2km including 10x 0:25 second sprints. 246.2/270km for September. @quilteryoyo 99%…

Hi everyone! I completed an 8.2km run this morning, with 4x 5minute tempo intervals. Everything went well and the weather was nice. My throat hurt a bit this morning, but I was ok running and I feel pretty ok now. We'll see.... Tomorrow's run involves some short sprints and then it will be all short and easy runs on out…

@quilteryoyo Even though your run/hike didn’t go as you might have planned, it sounds like it was really quite an adventure and did sound like a lot if fun! It’s so cool you saw someone doing a 50 day AT attempt too! @ContraryMaryMary It’s understandable and sounds very reasonable that you are sitting the 24 hour race out,…
