@mae1658 As long as you feel good and there are no concerns other than a few comments, I wouldn’t worry about it. I think we are all so used to seeing overweight/obese people that a lot of us don’t even know what a normal, healthy human being looks like. I always notice this when I look at photos from the 1970’s or…

@AmyDahlTorres Fantastic progress, you are doing a fabulous job! Congrats on the 65 lbs you no longer have to carry around every day, and all those other health improvements :) @Caeli11 Congrats on your (almost) 100 lbs lost, what an achievement! I think it is very important to adjust our self-perception as we work on…

Totally agree with what @EliseTK1 wrote above. Lately I've started taking the stairs on purpose wherever I go, rather than avoiding them at all cost. Stair climbing has become easy, I no longer even get out of breath going up three levels. Bending down (to take off my pants, put on shoes, pick up something I dropped, clean…

I heartily recommend Salmon with Potatoes and Horseradish-Tarragon Sauce. Always a hit 'round these parts. You can play around with the veggie part of the dish, I like cauliflower instead of potato and someone I shared this recipe with just made it with turnips, carrots, and beets added to the potatoes, which looked…

In my experience it's not the fiber, it's the refined carbs and sugar. I used to get horrible gas whenever I ate pasta with roasted/pan-fried Brussels sprouts (one of my favorite dishes at the time). I blamed the Brussels sprouts, of course. Only after I switched to eating a low-carb, no-refined-carbs, no-added-sugar diet…

Corn and Zucchini Salad with Feta... yum! (I couldn't find zucchini blossoms, so I made do without.)

This past week's bean dish (made with Rancho Gordo's deliciously potato-y Snowcap Beans): White Bean Fennel Soup -- I prepped and portioned out several servings. Easy to reheat in the microwave (I add a tbsp of olive oil at serving time). Nice comfort food, I particularly like the rich tomato-y broth.

Ginger-Dill Salmon with a side of grilled asparagus. I have leftovers for a couple more meals. I haven't been eating much citrus and I really enjoyed the blood orange & grapefruit in this dish.

Well, that did not work out as planned. I lost exactly 0lbs 0oz in April 🤦🏻♀️ I did establish a new bedtime routine that actually worked quite well, but wasn't able to follow through for more than a few days due to factors out of my control. Having cleared those out of the way (I think), I'm nevertheless still exactly…

Congratulations! You made some challenging changes to your life and it really shows... Wow what a difference, you look so much lighter (relieved) and not just in the physical sense. Here's to the 62 lbs that are gone, and also to the next 62 lbs that are sure to follow them soon! May you catch many awesome Pokémon.

Since we're doing "legwear" today: I ordered a pair of XL yoga pants... I will have to return them because they just hang off me :D Oops I guess I should start looking at size M instead of "slightly smaller than plus size." The brain really does take a minute to catch up! I recently started a taiko drumming class (Japanese…

@ATnowornever I honestly wouldn't worry too much about that for the moment -- the guidelines I've seen recommend a weekly loss of no more than 1% of body weight. I think that "no more than 2 lbs a week" number is based on people whose body weight is in the 200-pound range or below. For those of us who started at such a…

That is super awesome. For some reason my cholesterol values have all worsened during this weight loss thing (most other values have improved). I'm not too worried for now because I'm hopeful that maybe this change was due to all the body fat I've been breaking down? But I really have no idea what's going on. I figure I'll…

Apologies if this has been mentioned already, I don’t have time to check. The New York Times has a weekly newsletter called The Veggie which is available to anyone (NYT subscription not required). Tanya Sichynsky shares the most delicious vegetarian recipes for weeknight cooking, packed lunches and dinner parties. You can…

@NonnieDoiron I can see another positive in your situation: you say the company really wants you. That puts you in a position to negotiate! Ask for a part-time position, or even a creative deal like "every other Friday off," or extra paid vacation days. If they really want you this should sweeten the deal for both parties.

✨✨✨New measurements are in!✨✨✨ Another two months’ worth of progress: I lost 🌟 0.5” from my neck 🌟 0.5” from my arm 🌟 1” from my waist 🌟 1” from my stomach/butt 🌟 0.5” from my thigh and 🌟 0.5” from my calf. Last time I had lost most of my inches around my center, this time it’s evenly distributed overall. Bonus: my “upper…
