  • Finished eating today - sinus infection - get some sleep. Lots of fluids for the rest of the day. Did the workout - slowly - but done!
  • Done eating for the day. Will drink fluids and exercise.
  • Kudos to our busy posters who are trying their best. Good for you when you can give yourself a break. I took guests to airport. Back home & resting before cleaning guest rooms. Resisting snack and will do that workout.
  • Guests in town. Will make my way to finished basement to get on exercise equipment while they're out and about. Lasagna & guests tonight @ 6pm. I ordered lasagna so I didn't spend time in kitchen, plus 'Bellas' makes better lasagna than I do! Won't be able to honor my intermittent fasting since I'll be eating later but…
  • The Food & Exercise tabs on top. I didn't express that well. Just going through the motions of typing in both help me to stay focused. How are you juggling work & self care? I remember trying to work everything in and then being tired at night.

  • Keeping on track this week. I need to stay with intermittent fasting. My indigestion has subsided since I no longer evening snack. 60 degrees & sunshine in the Midwest. I'm in the mood to shed a few pounds and get stronger! Keep moving, good people!
  • My NuStep is something I bought for myself when I retired. I had an old knee injury from snow skiing, and I found myself injuring the same knee when using other equipment. The line to use the 3 NuSteps was long at the community center and there was a 20 minute limit. I like to stay on for an hour. PLUS, a lot of men hang…

  • Yes, hubs was a corporate guy and there were donuts, free snacks, cafeteria in the building and business lunches. He didn't realize how many calories he ingested and how inactive he was. He's now busy with landscaping and not eating those big lunches. His doc is thrilled! He now landscapes, fishes, walks in nature, etc.…

  • When I abandon workout and food decision schedules, I get all emotional and have to turn it around and start again when I get sloppy.
  • Thank you for this information. We're all different, so knowing self and triggers is important. I'm an emotional eater when I abandon a schedule. (virgo) I get sloppy when I don't have a plan. Back to my plan and it's going well. Good luck to all.
  • Hello from Midwest, USA. I'm newly retired from a career in education. Married 44 yrs, 3 kids & 4 grandsons. I'm used to a busy life and want to keep moving and have a plan so I won't slip into lazy habits. My regiment is intermediate fasting, mild exercise 60 minutes a day, walk or bike ride in good weather and try to…
  • Starting back on health regiment / lifestyle after being ill for 4 months. Nothing serious and I'm much better now. I did gain weight. Newly retired. I like to walk on a nearby labyrinth, use exercise equipment in our basement daily and practice IF or intermittent fasting. I do better with schedules. Now that hubs is…
  • If you're someone who wants to break the habit of snacking and do well with schedules, IF or intermittent fasting is great - as long as you don't have health issues that don't comply with IF. I started out as 5:2 (only fast 2 days a week) but switched to 16:8 daily. I gained weight back after being inactive due to health.…

  • I've modified, too. Discovered I can't eat as much as I used to. Hubs retired and automatically lost 25 pounds. He's keeps those 25 lbs off and stays active. He did struggle with long covid but getting his strength back. I didn't automatically lose weight when I retired so I work at it. I use a NuStep bike daily and ride…

  • Hi. Our bodies certainly change - What are some things you are doing differently, such as not eating after 6pm, more water, more movement, no second helpings, etc.?
