26yo female from Australia. Receptionist by trade, looking to lose the last 5 kilos (then see where we go from there). I'm a PC RPG girl all the way. Also love my DS (pokemon games are still cool okay?) and, lately, facebook games. All time faves are Guild Wars, Diablo1/2, The Sims, Starcraft. Bit too jumpy to play…

Diablo III !! Tho I'd be happy with just a confirmed release date at this point. Have already pre-ordered my collectors edition.

Its all about getting the heart rate up. Something like an aerobics class will burn way more per hour in comparison to say a yoga class. And it depends on your height, weight, age, body composition etc as to how much you burn. Then again, weights burn hardly anything but you build muscle. I think you should just find what…

I'm waiting for Diablo III. Hurry up Blizzard!
-
I do, but only because I retain water like a sponge.

YES my housemate and I were always trying to figure out exactly WHAT that meant. ....my male housemate, that is, who totally appreciated being called a lady every 3 minutes lol.
-
If you've upped your water intake, then yes. A million times yes.
-
Heck, I fill it in for the week if I can

If you can't find them in America I have little to no chance of finding them in Australia lol

Adding now :)

I was a compulsive nail biter all my life (to the point of chewing to the quick and bleeding/sore fingers) until I started getting acryllic nails. None of the home remedys (rubber band snapping, bad tasting etc) worked for me. 5 years down the track and I haven't looked back! I get pretty nails and don't feel compelled to…

Oh that sucks...but that would be great for motivation! Think of the upside and don't get too down :)

Because I like eating haha
-
I bought a new scale and told my housemate that if it said I weighed more than my old one I was going to chuck it haha. Thank goodness it said the same cos its shiny and does body fat and all that good stuff.
-
It all depends how much you weigh. The closer to goal you get, the less calories you will burn doing the same things. I think you'll find the people burning more may be bigger than you. Not scientific fact, but my theory is the bigger you are the more you burn?

Feel free to add me pet, the more support the better :)

Oh my, agreed. I see those posts and I can never understand them. Unless your diet is purely lettuce (which I can understand finding it hard to eat over 1,000 calories worth per day) or you're burning off thousands of calories in exercise, which logically should make you hungrier anyway!

Google/Youtube for Pop Pilates

Holy crap yes. I tell my housemate he has to be strict on me and not let me eat the bad stuff, but will quite happily tear him a new one if he so much as looks at me if I'm eating something I shouldn't. I think its called guilt lol. I've now resorted to asking him to hide the bad stuff in his room where I won't go looking…

Well done for taking that mental step...and throw out that ice cream! Willpower only extends so far, I don't know if it can beat strawberry cheesecake icecream lol.

Could you maybe switch your bike ride to the morning? That way you have all day to eat a little bit extra here or there. OR if you KNOW for a fact that you will be going for a bike ride and know the rough amount you burn, you could pre-emptively eat the calories during the day so you don't feel like you have to stuff…

Homemade popcorn - that way you can have it without butter/salt or at least control the amount, making it less calories. Or, I like to cut up strawberries and set them in lite jelly - I take a punnet of strawberries, slice 'em up, set them in 300ml of Aeroplace Jelly Lite and its something like 80cals but geez its a big…

Try getting the food you love and oven baking it instead maybe? Like, chips, nuggets etc but dry baking them in the oven? Even better, make your own sweet potato chips (Google should come up with recipes). Obviously not every night but once or twice a week (allowed for in your calories) to take away that craving and…

I wear flip flops and sweats :(

Willpower. Make your own meals. My housemate had pasta with cheese in it for dinner last night whilst I stuck to my Lite N Easy meal. It sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
-
Alone and bored....its definately one of my triggers. Maybe after you've had your dinner try and distract yourself. Go out for a walk. Log on to MFP. Watch a movie or read a book. Distraction!

Hi-yoooo, Adelaide

I've started bringing a resistance band to work (which I've just realised I left at home today, bugger) and working on arms, when I remember :) I'm also curious as to other things I could do at my desk.

I second the Sims. And thank god World of Warcrack costs monthly, otherwise I would be addicted for sure. Was into Guild Wars for a quite a while there. And, embarassingly enough, Facebook games - Restaurant City, Cityville and The Sims Social. Oh, the shame...
