Weather? Sick? Tired? The list could go on and on. Sometimes our bodies are just not up for it. Could be your legs just saying they need an extra day of rest. There is no shame is sticking with week 4 till your able to finish it without any issues. I agree with acdchica also. Running can be very mental! lol

lucyannp- Your size has no relation to being able to compete in a triathlon. :) Thanks for info though, I will look into that. I really dont need extra cario since I will add more jogging/riding here in the near future. I do like that idea since there a park setup with workout stations around here. jppd47- seems the 5x5 is…

It might not seem like much to me, but who cares, its huge to you! Congrats, I know exactly how you feel. Its a minor victory in the scheme of things, but a victory none the less. I remember how pumped I was when I finally jogged 1 mile straight. You should be proud of yourself! Now go do 15 mins straight next time!!! I…

In the 2nd pic, is that a girl you know or a pic you just found on the web? No way that was an actual pic of you! WOW! Congrats! Keep up the good work. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished... so far. :) http://freew67.blogspot.com/

You did put you started running the the spring, hence why only 17 lbs didnt make sence to me. When I jog I burn a crazy amount more then when I was walking. Even only in 30-40 min segments. I never said it wasnt enough, sorry you feel you need to go on the attack. I did put if that was your goal, then keep up the good…

My question is, if your running 10-15 miles a week, why have you only lost 17 lbs? While they were slightly mean spirited in their comment, they have a point. Now, if you have MFP set to .5 lbs per week, then your right on target. Either or, keep up the good work. You obviously doing something right.…

As someone who ran his first, just go and have a good time. If your slow line up in the back. Im slow but was still able to pass folks. As for prep I would take the day before the race off from running just so your fresh the day of the race. Show up early and make sure your hydrated. My goals for the race were 1) not die,…

I've lost 104 lbs so far and I drink about 2L a day. I don't get cravings or any other silly side effects that others get. A little bit of self-control goes a long way.

In the spirit of your post, NICE F&#$%^G JOB! http://freew67.blogspot.com/

Congrats! I know the feeling since it was only a few months ago I did the same thing. Last week was the first time I hit 5 miles in a row. Its hard for me to even comprehend that I can run 5 miles without stopping. After the first time I did 1 mile, 2 miles, and 3 miles, there was some Jersey Shore fist pumping going on.…

I started at 340 and just wanted to get out of the 300's. Im down 104 lbs now. Crazy where our journeys take us once we start.

I 2nd this tbh. I attempt to run sometimes with music and I will find myself going faster to the current song or getting out of step with breathing. Not always but sometimes, maybe I just have the music up to loud. lol Melanie- Once the race starts you will forget all about the people around you and run your own race. I…

My reward for losing 100 lbs was the 100 lbs. I'm not going to reward myself for something I should have never let happen in the first place. My true reward is being able to do fun things outside again that I've been missing out on for the past 15 years.

Unfortunately this is when you find out who your real friends are. Congrats on the 80lbs! I also agree with melzenitram, you have done something a lot of people are scared to do. You should be very proud of yourself.
-
Congrats! I just hit 100 lbs lost in less then a year last week. I know first hand how hard it is to lose that kind of weight. Be proud of yourself, you deserve it.

I know this doesnt help with the TOM issue (since Im a guy), but I have seen my weight go up as far as 8 lbs in 1 week. I get on the scale first thing just about every morning. Then by the time I step on the scale for weigh in day, I still lose 1-2 lbs. The first few times I saw that I did freak out a bit. Thinking wth am…
