  • We received an air fryer for Christmas and have been amazed with how many different foods you can cook in it - and in less time. Marinate thicker, boneless pork chops and cook; small turkey breast; salmon fillets (can put in frozen), chicken thighs. All have turned out tender and juicy.
  • I found these books to be very helpful in changing my mindset: The Beck Diet Solution and the Power of Habit, both of which were suggested by members in other threads. It still takes some effort, but the books give you a good understanding of how the mind works, how habits are formed, and the tools to make the changes. As…
  • Does your gym have a video option? I belong to Anytime Fitness and I can work out to different exercise videos - Kickboxing, muscle conditioning, pilates, etc. If not, maybe you can find different workout routines on Youtube or Pinterest.
  • The Beck Diet Solution is a good book to help train your brain. I agree with the above post to bring your own lunch. I bring my lunch every day. Sometimes it's leftovers, a salad with chicken breast, a wrap, or when I don't have much time to prepare anything (or am too lazy), I'll bring soup or a frozen meal and add extra…
  • Most mornings a poached egg with toast, avocado, spinach and tomato. Lunch - chicken breast, rice & broccoli or Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers - I always add vegetables and occasionally 1 to 2 ounces of chicken to make it a little more filling. Dinner varies quite a bit. Snacks - apple, orange, grapes, berries, carrots,…

  • Look at the restaurant's menu online before going, pick out something reasonably low calorie to order. When you get to the restaurant, don't open the menu or you might be tempted to change your order.
  • Lavash Bread - it's sort of like a tortilla or flatbread - I have found them in the bakery section at Walmart. I also really like Sara Lee 45 and Delicious 100% whole wheat or multigrain.
  • Pop a mint in your mouth, chew on peppermint gum or brush your teeth. Most foods do not appeal to me after having mint. The craving will usually pass by the time the mint flavor is gone.
  • If possible, try to set a schedule for your workouts so that you don't have to think about fitting the time in each day - it's a regular part of your schedule that you don't question. Even better, try to find someone to work out with - you'll be less likely tp blow off a workout. When I was in college (many years ago),…
  • Chicken with a 1/2 cup rice and steamed broccoli. Breakfast - 1 egg poached on a slice of Sara Lee 45 & delightful wheat bread with a little avocado, mustard, tomato and spinach leaves. I will sometimes put several chicken breasts in a slow cooker on Sunday and use it through out the week - add 2 ounces to a frozen meal…
  • This! It really can make a difference. If the photographer will let you get away with it, angling your body slightly, and standing up straight as others mention, will help with the pictures. Take some experimental pictures in the dress before the wedding to see what works.
  • I make up a large batch of scrambled eggs on the weekend that I can reheat throughout the week. I also hard boil several eggs at a time to have a ready to go breakfast. Then, if you have a few extra minutes, chop 1 1/2 hard-boiled eggs, add a little mustard and either light mayo or avocado for a quick egg salad. Toast,…
  • VitaminWaterZero - it uses stevia as the sweetener so it doesn't have that "diet" taste.
  • I can see a slight difference. Are your clothes a little looser? Keep it up and you'll see a bigger difference soon.
  • Spaghetti squash with pesto and shrimp.
  • They say a person's tastes change every 7 years, so don't give up on veggies completely. I used to absolutely hate broccoli. I tried it in my 30's (steamed) and actually liked it. Now it is one of my favorite veggies. Still not a fan of it raw though. Grilled summer squash or zucchini with olive oil and season salt. Or…
  • You can definitely see the difference. Nice job. This is what keeps a person motivated to keep going.
  • I don't like the "diet" taste of artificial sweeteners, so it's hard to find low or zero calorie drinks. I recently tried VitaminWater Zero and Sobe Lifewater and actually liked them. They use natural sweeteners.
  • Great idea. I will have to try this.
  • Great job! What an accomplishment!
  • This ^ The body becomes more efficient if you are doing the same type of exercise. Change things up. Best of luck!
  • I find that eating a mint or chewing sugarless peppermint gum helps me avoid snacking when I'm not truly hungry. Very few things taste good after eating a mint - at least for me. I also agree with logging the snack before you eat it - seeing the numbers often makes me decide against it.
  • You definitely have a more defined waist. Great job. Keep it up.
  • Great NSV! Thanks for sharing.
  • Now that had to feel really good! Congratulations and happy shopping.
  • I wouldn't deny yourself completely - you'll just want it even more. I have found that if I allow myself one piece of chocolate per day, that satisfies my cravings. Pick something you really like and ideally under 100 calories - you'll still have to account for it in your calorie log. My pick is Dove Dark Chocolate and I…
  • I can't say that I've used MyFitness Pal to specifically track fats and cholesterol, but I can tell you that my cholersterol levels dropped when I started eating better - adding more vegetables to my diet - and exercising regularly. My levels also went back up when I fell off the wagon for a little while. That being said,…
  • Thank you for starting this thread! Hearing all of the positive results motivated me to get the DVD out and try it again. This time I plan to give it some serious effort and stick with it for the 30 days. I started tonight and Day 1 wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Although it helped that I went out and bought 3 lb…
  • I just started tonight. 1 day down, 29 to go!
