Me too! I love the skin; the flesh of a kiwi fruit is too bland without the contrasting tang of the skin. Yum!

That is really interesting; as a 150lb tall woman I really struggled to keep calories below about 1650-1700. One side effect of ketosis I never experienced was loss of appetite. I always wondered if Atkins relies on this to truly work. There is a school of thought that firmly believes that Atkins offers no metabolic…

Is this correct? Is it 500 calories NET on fast days? Can you earn more by working out? I can find very very little on this diet other than what I have read on here

They do say you don't have to count calories on Atkins but that doesn't mean that calories don't count! Clearly if you are eating waaaay more than your body needs you will not lose weight. Atkins guidance is 1500-1800 a day for women. If you are following the plan and losing weight then I would not worry. If you are not…

Bump as am interested in responses

Yes it makes total sense! I think this whole eating back your exercise cals is very geared towards people who work out daily: I want to spread mine across the whole week and, as you say, if a situation arises where you go over you have the chance to pull it back and not feel like you have failed totally. I have been…

Mayo and cheese! Hate both

I think it depends on how much weight you have to lose. What weight/height are you? I think Slimming World is a great plan for overweight people that works by teaching them to eat the right types of healthy food and strictly controlling the intake of "treats" ( via syns). I think once you get to a healthy weight, however,…

It's not really about that though; I guess what I am simply to do is set myself up in a way that I have enough flexibility in my goals to eat a comfortable amount every day, without eating for the sake of ( something I will NEVER do!). I think zig-zagging might not suit me ( although I hear it's very successful)

Anyone?

A bowl of stewed rhubarb!

Thanks for this! Will google all of the above. I suppose you are right; weighing 140lb is probably just an arbitrary number when what I really want is the solution that will give me the best results in inch and fat loss between now and then. I am sure I will re-gain some but I am prepared for that in exchange for feeling…

Thanks for this - what is HIIT?

I am sorry but it is perfectly possible to lose just over 2lb per week in a healthy way. Challenging, difficult and requiring significant commitment and dedication, but possible. It is not requiring of a miracle and I was not asking for one. Eating 500 calories and running 2 hours on a treadmill is unpleasant sarcasm, not…

Bump! Anyone?!
-
Sorry - I don't know where exactly in my question I said I wasn't interested in doing it the healthy way. My question is simply can anyone make recommendations on losing 16lb in 7 weeks to someone who is prepared to work very hard to achieve something I know is difficult in such a short time. Difficult but not impossible.…

Milled flax seed - is a superfood! Practically carb free and very high fibre. Very common on the Atkins diet - google Atkins MIM - its a recipe for a muffin made in the microwave with flaxseed. Makes a fabulous high fibre breakfast

I concur with all those recommending Allen Carr's Easyway to Stop Smoking book. It really is the best and healthiest way. I am 18 months smoke free due to it. The only word of warning I will give is that he may call it the easy way but it isn't! Quitting is hard however you go about it and you need to be prepared for that…

Pour bleach on them. Seriously. Or is that just me?!

There are 14 lbs in a stone, therefore 19.8 stones is 19 stone and 11lbs (0.8 x 14lb gives you the 11lbs)

Really great result. Can I ask how frequently you did the 30DS? Did you do it every day or did you take rest days? Also, what cardio did you do?

I think those that say you must eat back your exercise cals are those people who are working to the calorie goals MFP sets them, ie 1200 cals + exercise cals = net of 1200. If you are basing your goal on TDEE - 20% you should not be eating back exercise cals. I think!

BUMP:smile:

You are setting your goal based on TDEE - 20%. TDEE already takes into account your exercise, does it not?! If so, then surely you should not be eating back your exercise calories as you are effectively counting them twice. You will have created no deficit with the exception of what you burn in everyday life over your BMR…

You seem like an incredibly nice person! Much nicer than me :-) Personally I agree with this poster. I have extensive experience of people with eating disorders. They tend to go to great lengths to conceal how little they are eating. They tend not to post it on an international public website and seek advice from complete…

^^^ this. Sorry to be harsh but this OP strikes me of teenage attention -seeking nonsense. I don't believe for 1 second you don't know it is dangerous to eat so little. Stop wasting time on websites and get to a doctor if you are genuinely over your anorexia but "genuinely not hungry"

I adore salmon - just finished my dinner of salmon with green beans and garlic butter - utterly delicious! I always drizzle it with olive oil, season with mixed herbs and black pepper, wrap it in foil and bake it in the oven for about 25 minutes. Simple but utterly delicious

I do boot camp also. I usually count it as 450 cals, but I like to be cautious. I am 160lbs; I don't know what you weigh but if you a bit heavier than that then 550 is likely a good guess
