It might be nothing to do with the exercise; I just can't find anything wrong with the new place that could be causing it. Am not someone who struggles to sleep in hotels etc. I quit smoking a few years back and struggled with sleeping then. That's a common side effect. This feels exactly the same as when I quit smoking.…

I don't think I'm under-eating and/or overtraining. I'm getting around 1700 cals per day, mostly low carb (am looking to change this and get more carbs in) and working out 3 times per week for an hour at a time. It's fairly intense though - a mix of Hiit and circuit training. I find it very challenging but can get through…

Curly Wurly! 115 calories. Apparently if you keep them in the freezer they take a lot longer to eat and the enjoyment is extended!

Bumping as I too feel out of control with my eating. WIth me it is chocolate. I never keep it in the house but it is during the day I struggle when at work. There is a machine in the office and a shop next door, so it is always easy to get it. Before I am finished one bar I am already thinking "I want more". It is almost a…

http://www.runningcalendar.eu/races.php?group,ie this is a great site.

A different perspective perhaps, but it does sound to me like you really want to improve. Why don't you try, when you feel the need to stop and walk, pushing on running. Just a bit more. It is a cliche but it is true; the first mile is the hardest and then it DOES get easier. Keep telling yourself that and you will be…

Ok. So whoever said they were like chewing on rubber bands was bang on the money. No. Just no!!

I have heard this before but I don't think spaghetti squash is something all that readily available here in the UK, sadly

They certainly seem to divide opinion! I will report back tomorrow and let you all know my thoughts!

I've bought them now, so am at least going to give them a try!! Does anyone know the answer to my original question, ie do they keep once you have opened the packet or do you have to use them all at once?!
-
Thanks for the constructive advice, LOL!! I am not holding out too much hope that I will be able to stomach them but you never know! Some people say they are ok. I am giving 5:2 IF a go and thought these may be a help

Driving past the gym on my way home from shopping because I just couldn't be bothered and then getting home and dragging my *kitten* out the door for a 5.5 mile run instead

Are you making a cut from your TDEE or are those figures actually your TDEE? Firstly I would say that 1 -3 hrs light activity is probably too low for 3 x bootcamps and daily dog -walking, so I would increase that to moderately active, if I was you. Work our your TDEE and deduct 15-20% if you are trying to lose weight ( I…

Bump again!

There is no such thing as "correct" it is simply what you are most comfortable with. My advice, however, would be zero incline if you are a beginner. With regards speed, I personally find it better to run slowly but build up to covering the distance before trying to increase your speed. I would recommend maybe 8 or 8.5…

Where exactly in the OP does it say that her look is what women should aspire to??!!!
-
Couldn't agree more!! Did some of you guy's mothers never tell you "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing"?
-
I heard the hype, read the book and gave it a go. I survived the 4 days necessary on the "attack" phase, during which time I was allowed to eat lean protein,1 serving oatbran, 2 x yogurts daily (sugar and fat free). That was it!!!!! I was STARVING, dizzy and disoriented for most of it. Worst 4 days of my life! Never again
-
Oh - and you probably want to aim for 5 times per week to really see a benefit

Weight loss is 80% diet. If you stick to your calorie deficit there is nothing wrong with walking to support your weight loss goals. Plenty do it. Walking for an hour at a decent pace and perhaps an incline will probably burn maybe 400 calories?! It will definitely help a lot

I just suspect, however, those that incessantly post on the topic secretly already know that a handful of almond or a tbsp of peanut butter would do the trick and are looking more for attention than advice :-)

I know. I get it. But there simply is not THAT much of a difference. You do not go from having a calorie intake enough to make you extremely overweight to struggling to manage 1000 cals a day because you're eating more vegetables. Is total nonsense. I get how you can go from eating, say 3500 a day to 2000 a day by eating…

I think this is what people struggle with. You claim you didn't eat that much in terms of quantity but it was what you ate - pizza, candy etc that make you overweight. No doubt these are higher calorie foods but eating them in reasonable quantities is not going to create "extreme amounts of calories" any more than…

The Dukan diet is nonsense. Essentially it involves eating only lean protein and very limited quantities vegetables, with a daily helping of oatbran. All dressed up in a terribly complicated method of differing phases but ultimately it amounts to a very low calorie diet. End of. You try cutting all fat and carbs from your…

I agree with whoever recommended the Alan Carr - Easyway to stop smoking book - it is a fantastic help. I also agree with those who say not to put too much pressure on yourself- quitting smoking is one of the hardest things you will ever do and if you put yourself on a strict "diet" at the same time you run the risk of…

OMG do you think the attention seeking " I just can't hit the calorie goal" posts will ever end?! *Yawns*
-
Yeah - I think some serious yoga stretches might be the only thing for it!

I have this on DVD! Must be well over 12 years old.

Thanks all for your input - it is appreciated. I will certainly look into those programmes mentioned. I agree I need to prioritize and focus on the running ( I am a novice runner so it will take all I have to complete it). I did a lot of squats yesterday and seriously could not run today if my life depended on it! I can…
