• Mudya, I wish I had more pics. Perhaps I'll take some from now and then more when I get to my goal. Fatgobyby- Chart! Do MFP *everyday*. And find some workouts to stick to. I walk a lot on top of my workouts because I don't have a car. So opt for walking to places when you can. badgerbadger1, thanks! I'm not sure where I…
• badgerbader1, how do you track your activity then?
• I DO track it because I'm here to KEEP TRACK of my activity, as accurately as possible. Just like logging food accurately. And I work 12 hour shifts that I don't sit down much. I've yet to get a pedometer and I think that would be the best way to do it. But I've read on some forums that the average nurse on a 12 hour shift…
• I got a multi-tool this year! But I actually wanted it.
• Occupation: Critical Care Nurse (Neuro/Trauma) Dream Job: Making my own schedule and traveling often. Social awareness through photography and nursing.
• In the event it actually helps the EXTREMELY vulnerable population I work with; I'm willing to get it.
• I use my plug in heater pad ALL the time.
• 34 D here. Although some brands I am considered a DD. These are supposed to be the best of all. I've never tried one though. My sister in law is a DD and says these are perfect. http://www.enell.com/index.php But they are expensive. You might find something here. Although they are on the upper end of price range.…
• I'm the opposite, I always feel starved during shark week. I literally become a giant man eating shark that devours everything in my path. hee hee. Maybe try something with ginger in it? Studies have suggested Yogurt with cultures in it helps women. Hopefully you can at least keep fluids down.
• Cool, thanks for the post.
• 5' 4''. 143lb. Scheduled for a lb a week. Goal weight 135lb. Add me if you like. :)
• Red wine in moderation is pretty fair and has health benefits. However, I understand the moderation part might be tough. Go on some pretty walks, and explore! That will help burn off some of the excess. I'm jealous. :)
• Layers! something to block wet, something that keeps you warm if you get wet (fleece/wool, not cotton). I love gaiters, poles and if the snow is right, snowshoes. I find I get way too hot when I'm hiking, and then it only takes a little time to get chilled when I stop. So anticipate convenience of putting layers on and…
• Over eating, binge eating, eating everything in sight. It's still hard for me to eat a normal amount of food when I am with them. Planning the day is constantly about when is the next meal, relaxing to digest and nap time. On the plus side, we build really good muscles, and my mom got me hooked on superfoods and interested…
• Me Me Me !!!
• Air pop popcorn with plain yellow mustard. :P
•
<<...that is the one thing I don't agree with MFP, I NEVER eat back my workout calorie. And I have had huge success!>>
I am happy you are achieving huge success. Continue to do what works best for you. "Success" It is a very personal thing with definitions that are unique to an individual. I feel very…
• My fear with doing this is that I am not eating back the calories my body needs for the energy. Which can lead to muscle wasting and feeling physically unwell. And it can be a SIGNIFICANT amount of extra calories burned on a 12 hour shift. I wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to give my body the nutrients and calories…
• I have the same situation as you pretty much. I really don't want to change my activity level to active or very active because on my days off I am no where near as active other then my scheduled exercise. So what I do is log 1.5-2 hours of walking. I know at minimum I walk about 5-6 miles according to some nursing blogs…
• Working out, even walking for an hour ALWAYS helps my cramps and mood and appetite for junk. I keep some high quality dark chocolate around for the cravings. At least then it's somewhat healthy if I can moderate it.
• You can dehydrate a lot of things. I would really like to get one and try one day. Bananas, Mangos, Apples, Carrots, Peas, Corn, you can make "chips: out of Kale and bread/tortilla... Not that you have to be into Raw Food diet but one of those cook books might have some good ideas for what to make with your dehydrated…
• <Yeah but is it possible to sweat out .8 lbs during a three hour nap? Its not warm in the house maybe 65 degreesbut I did use a blanket....> We loose 500ml of water a day just with respiration. My job requires me to know these little facts. That's in itself is close to a lb.
• Earth Balance, Sucanat, and organic cold pressed olive oil, canola oil, and sesame oil depending on the level heat I'm using.http://www.earthbalancenatural.com/#
• It's so nice to hear that you are listening to how you feel rather then getting caught up in the numbers game. Great job!
• Add me if you like. I'm working a night shift and I do 12's. I switch back and forth between nights and days. So sometimes I'm eating around the clock and trying to find time to exercise can be hard after 12 hours on my feet. I'm sure you know. Anyways, I'm always up for sharing tips and tricks to manage this wild…
• Order it skinny! Skim milk has higher Calcium! I won't quit Pizza and Candy. And Alcohol, I order a couple of pints in a night and it screws my calorie count.
• I try to eat a lot of raw foods. But I am very modified because I still eat some lean meats, dairy and whole wheat products and bake/cook a lot of my foods. I find I'm less hungry, my skin is better, and I can really tell how junk food makes me feel crappy. Raw Food Life Force Energy, Natalia Rose. Superfoods, David Wolfe.…
• I agree! You can do it. It's really good that you have a lot of time to think about it and train. Contrary to what carriem73 said, when I trained, I did my own half marathon a few weekends before to reassure myself I would be able to do it. But I guess that is a personal preference. Also, I only set a goal to finish, not…
