Juicing vegetables is a great way to pack nutrients into a normal portioned diet. People are in general malnourished for many many reasons. Fiber is good but only to an extent. Too much can be irritating to your GI tract and Ileocecal valve. Be careful with fruits and some veggies and juicing as they are packed with sugar…

From Spontaneous Healing by Dr. Weil. "When you eat more protein then your body needs to make and repair tissue it is used as an energy source. But it is not the most ideal fuel for the body. Club soda is the same thing and it's cheaper. I drink 2-4 cans a day. Usually with some lime or a shot of some other kind of juice. Keeps sugar down and I have grown to crave it even just plain. I think I like the bubbles more then anything. I also make ice tea out of different flavors of tea and don't add sugar. Tea comes…

Log everything you eat for a long time. Until you could do it in your sleep. Then you attain a valuable awareness and accountability for everything you eat.

I's be curious to hear what my 18 year old self would say to me. In some ways I was more "grown up" then. So I would tell myself: Way to go for not frying your brain like many others. And for getting out of your small town, moving to a new country, and finding a career you love and respect! Also, you rock at standing up…

I have been trying to get back in track since I went on a few trips/vacation through April. Eating out a lot is a trigger for me. Plus I do a day night rotation that makes me tired 4/9 days so my guard is weakened. I really struggle with binge eating. The problem with letting myself have a day here and there is that I can…

I really need to stop. I'm the worst. And I work in a very high stress place that you don't want to put your hands anywhere near your face. Although I tend to bite at home mostly when I have too much time to worry and no where to channel it. I wish there was a quick fix for this one. But I gotta just do it.

I put a bed of greens (spinach, arugula, kale, collards, green beans...whatever is available) at the bottom of whatever I make for dinner whether it be pasta and sauce, soup, casserole, eggs, enchiladas.. etc. It bulks up the meal and creates an illusion that there is more food there. And it helps fill me up with nutrient…
