Have you tried strength training lower body? (or whole body for that matter?) Running indeed is good, but any type of cardio that burns fat is good. Unfortunately, we're designed this way...Or, fortunately, as some men would have it. :) I also like the stairmill, AMT, and swimming. Good luck!

That's how long it took me to run my 5k distance this morning and I've run ~10 5Ks and some longer distances. You'll do great! And you'll see you might even run faster on race day because of adrenaline and competition!

You all are awesome! Thanks for the support. The next 5K in the Chicago area is in December, but I don't know if I can run in the cold! There's a popular 8K in March I might try to go for. You all are awesome!

Yes! 25 pounds is HUGE and you look great, keep it up! I've gotten the comments about my face and it's great!
