I like the cutting back on negative thinking part :)

She was/is my wellness coach ( I don't see her too much these days because of finances). The main area where I gain weight is my mid section so she said sugar is the cause of the weight gain. I think I eat fairly well and not a junk eater, except for the occasional candy now and then.

Good for you! Keep doing a great job :)

I agree. I had a trainer that always rescheduled on me. It was so fustrating that ended up me leaving

I agree, you don't want to be too chatty. I guess What I meant by friend is that someone that really cares about their goals and really wants to help them, rather caring about making a few bucks off of them. My coach actually reduced her prices so she can achieve people's goals.

I had my share of personal trainers and gained a lot of information but exericising and diets seem to change a lot, so I come here often for advice. Recently I had this great wellness/PT coach. First she worked out of her home, and not at a gym. She provided a few different options with bootcamp style. She really kicked my…

That's good to know about fitting in the cardio in between. I may try that!
-
Would you also do interval training while on shred? or just regular cardio?
-
Thank you everyone for your input. I'm so excited and ready to get started! Hopefully I'll get some results after hearing all the inspiring results from all of you :)
-
You've lost a lot of weight :) What other tricks do you have to keep losing. since you didn't see much weight loss from Shred?
-
I love challenges!
-
That's a good idea to take a day off. I feel like you have too and you still saw results :) Did you do any cardio in addition to the Shred?
-
I want to lose about 10 lbs. Thanks so much for your help! Great input

Thank you for your feedback. I tried it a while ago but didn't do it every day like it says and I didn't see results. I don't think I was dedicated enough. I'm going to stick with it and do it every day. Hopefully see results. Please feel free to add me as a friend. Maybe we can cheer each other on. I plan on starting…

Thanks for the tip! I didn't know that. My problem is that I only have 4 days to work out, I have two jobs,...so it's tough to squeeze any more time in. Do you think it would be okay to do cardio on the weight training days, as long as it's not intervals?
-
I've cleaned up my diet quite a bit. No processed foods, more water, cut out most soda, more whole foods and less sugar. I have done two days of bootcamp classes and 2 days of interval training. Still not seeing much results :(
-
I'd be interested in knowing more about this group. I have limited my sugar intake to 26 grams a day unless on workout days I go a little higher.
-
Thanks for all the info. I have been doing two days interval training and not sure if that is enough. One day is Highest Intensity which my BPM is between 173-180 or more. I do this on a Sunday. Then Friday is High Intenstiy which my BPM is up to 165 -171. Then I choose one day for recovery day, just a walk on the…

It's not about how long, or how short you exercise. It's about getting your Heart Up. I only do interval training for about 28-30 minutes. I use to do 45-1 hour on a cardio machine and did not see the results I wanted. Now I spend less time at the gym and feel great. I sweat more too!

Try it, and modify at your own pace. I do bootcamp twice a week and I've never experienced "such pain" in my life. Good pain. I didn't think I could do it, but it's amazing where my body can take me. My coach even tells me I've come a long way in a short amount of time.

I usually have a Luna Bar pre-work out (30 minutes) before. It's filling and keeps me energized through my intense workouts. Then I have a light breakfast afterwards like a whole grain english muffin w/ Peanut Butter, Oatmeal or Kashi Cereal. I also think you maybe working out to late after your eat. Good Luck!

I have to say I hear about these all the time. I have had my share of personal trainers. So good and some bad. I recently had an experience with one, that urged me not to take a weight lifting class because it will make me stronger and not see the results I will see with the trainer. I dropped the training and taking the…

I tried doing this every day and didn't find any results. Let us know how you do after 30 days. Maybe it works for some people and not others.

I was thinking of just doing cardio until I lost the 12 lbs i want to lose.....thanks for your help!

Thank you everyone for your kind words of encouragement. I just made my diary viewable :) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I added kickboxing just a few weeks ago to my workouts and and a weight lifting class a month ago. Maybe I will try the jogging. I have a bad ankle and knee. So I need to be careful.…

Welcome!!! It's always hard to make a lifestyle change no matter what it is. You'll find a lot of supportive people on here. If you need additional support, feel free to add me. Good Luck on your Journey!

I think you are very lucky to only have weighed a half pound more. Most of us gained much more than that on the cycle. I am on it this week as well and expected the worse...luckily I lost a half pound! Just think next week you'll probably lose even more weight :)

I personally weigh myself in the mornings before I eat or drink anything. If I weigh myself after I exercise sometimes I'm swelled up because of being hot and not sure if that number would be accurate enough.
