I love this thread so hard. <3

A bunch of vitamins are fat soluble - so if you aren't eating enough fats to go with the juice, you aren't absorbing all those healthy vitamins.

Even if you aren't using your running shoes, the rubber can degrade over time. It sounds like you bought them 2 to 3 years ago - it is time for new. Also, are you trying to pick up where you left off? I suspect you may also be trying to do too much right away. Even though your lungs remember, your legs and feet need to…

If he's tall and very thin, he probably needs the calories. I honestly don't think I would sweat it that much. Look around and see if you can find any other convenience foods to introduce him to that might be healthier? There is a brand I have seen - Amy's organic - they have burrito bowls and such. They might be…

You said New Balance store? Go to a running shoe store that has all different brands. NB may not be the right shoe for you even though there are all different styles of NB. Do some cross training - that will help with the strength in your shins/calves.

Do it!! I am starting Hal's plan next week and I will probably repeat some of the weeks. I have a 5k on Sunday and my 10k is on June 7th.

I started running long before I heard of C25K. Honestly, if I had tried it, I probably would have been discouraged. I think it is week 3 to 4 where it jumps to some longer run times. That would have been hard for me. Back in the day when I started, I did one minute of running (5 mph pace) and then 1 min (or I may have…

Yes! Having a purpose other than weight has been important - at least for me. Find your love! The nice thing now is that so many people are getting into fitness and there are more options available. There are untimed fun 5k's (like the color and electric run), obstacle course/mud runs, bike races (some timed or untimed),…

I took me almost nine years. yes... NINE YEARS. I joined my first gym in December of 2001. I went regularly for a year-ish. Then I quit. Then I started again. Then I quit. Then I started. Each time I quit, it was for less time. And each time I started, I kept at it a little longer. When I started, I used the elliptical. At…

I second the going to bed early and regularly. If I don't get to bed early, then all bets are off. I also try not to make it a choice. Like showering in the morning - not really a choice I make every morning, I just do it. I try to get up and work out without thinking of it as a choice.

Break that habit! I started by telling myself that I was no longer a person who ate out of boredom. No pressure - I just said "Ok, I just don't do that any more." And each day that I did not snack out of boredom, it got easier. Now, after a year or so, I can honestly say, when I do get bored, food is not my first thought.…

LMFAO!!!

I agree with all the others - work on the distance first. As you get used to the distances, your speed will get better. Save speed work for when you are training for your second half marathon! ;)

Today, I got up and went to the gym, for which I gave myself extra points since it is Monday after a time change!

What do you mean by tightness in your lungs? Is it a feeling you get right after swimming? Does it last a long time? I used to get a weird feeling in my lungs when I was a kid and spent the day swimming in my pool. It was from taking deep breaths and holding them under water over and over. Are you breathing properly when…

I have the Pro Nutribullet. It was less than $100. It pulvarizes everything (except raspberry seeds - that is the only thing I have had trouble with). It does awesome with chia seeds, strawberry seeds, etc. And no leafy bits from my greens. Everything is smooth.

OMG. All of their almonds are amazing. Their food is so good. I haven't had anything "bad" from them yet.

My husband bikes and he SWEARS by these: http://www.thesufferfest.com/ He does routines on his trainer for up to 2 hours or so at a time and he said they would be too boring if not for the videos. They do have a running one, but I have not tried it.

Me, too! OP: Even just a pair of dumbells would be better. Lift them up. Put them down.

Coke. Only Coke. It is for my Captain Morgan 100 proof to go in. It's not called "rum & pepsi". It is "rum & COKE". Diet soda is a NO. Ever since my first pregnancy, I can't stand the taste of artificial sweetners. Which is a bummer, b/c I used to enjoy diet sodas. I drink 12 oz of seltzer with 2 oz of cranberry juice on a…

Agreed!! I see no problem here. Please continue.

I am doing a 5k on 3/22, a 10k on 6/7, and a HM on 9/13. And I have Hal's plans all printed out. I have done a gabazillion 5k's, only 1 other 10k, and 2 other HMs. I want to get to the point where I don't feel like I am going to lay down and die after a HM. I want to do it in under 3 hours.

OMG. Yes! I would say about half the pants I buy are crap. My jelly rolls push them down, but I don't know they are crap until I wear them a time or two and then they can't be returned. I am going to have to check out running tights...

Did you mean 1.5 mile run instead of swim, I assume? You go this. Those are great distances to start iwth for your first tri. I agree with everything MeanderingMammal said. You need at least one rest day. Drop some of the other classes and focus on the swim/bike/run. I did a sprint tri a few years ago. It was a women's…

omg. Now I have to go buy bacon, cook it, eat it all, just so i have some bacon fat to try this with...

Unfortunately, everything I have read says that usually surgery is required to fix that. Some people have luck with reducing it with weigh loss and ab work. Get supportive bikini bottoms...

I have been focused on eating more protein. I eat cottage cheese, almonds, greek yogurt, eggs, and meat. I am amazed at how much more statisfied I have been with eating more protein. I found these oat, flax, lavash wraps at BJs Wholesale. They have 10g of protein in them at only 100 calories. I make egg sammiches with…

I don't crave sugar. I crave fat. Cheese is my devil. Warm, gooey, fatty, melty cheese. Mmmm. Sugar on the other hand - If I cut back too much on carbs and sugar, I become lethargic and have a hard time preforming well with my workouts and runs. Sugar is awesome!

OMG! This is so true.
