Best of luck to you! I was on Cymbalta for a couple months-not for depression, but because my doctor said it would help with my HIP PAIN. Yeah, he's an idiot, and I'm finally done with all the crazy side effects, but still fighting getting the weight off. I was up 12 lbs in less than two months! Don't get discouraged, you…

Take water with you. When I do any distance over 6 miles I make sure to take it with me or have a stop along my route I can hit up a water fountain, etc. You can find cheap running bottles that are shaped to form to your hand and have straps/pockets/etc. that make carrying them less of a pain (amphipod is my favorite brand…

Yes to active recovery! Walk/jog, stretching, will work the soreness out. Foam rolling is great as well, but if you've never done it you'll hate me for a while until you get used to it. :) Worth it in the end though! I always take BCAA's as well to combat any muscle soreness and also aid in recovery. Good luck. Hurts so…

I make a huge pot of brown rice, bake a bunch of sweet potatoes, boil eggs, make a big batch of steel cut oats in the crock pot overnight, and also so some sort of shredded chicken in the crock pot. Sometimes I'll make a big batch of soup or stew (depending on the season/weather) as well. And that pretty much lasts my…

Good post! Way to start the weekend on a positive note!

Google Jamie Eason's salsa chicken. Basically chicken breasts, salsa of choice, and whatever veggies you want to add, I usually throw in onion, bell pepper, and tomato. Shred it and eat with tortillas, over rice, or (my fave) is lettuce wraps!

When you get stronger and planking on your hands/toes, elbows/toes gets easier (you will, and they will) try it on a yoga ball. Either elbows on the ball, or tougher, toes on the ball, and hands on the floor. THAT will wake your core up. There are so many variations you can do, either with medicine balls, benches, etc.…

I'm the same way, I'm not usually hungry after a long run. I do find it easier to drink something after, so I'll usually take water and mix a NUUN tab or two into it. They're slightly fizzy so it helps settle my stomach too, although it took a while to figure out which flavors wouldn't make the nausea worse! This will keep…

Yes. It sucks, but I do, it seems to keep the bloat down. But-don't take ibuprofen before a run/workout...unless you just happen to hate your kidneys. Good luck!

9/23: 2.25 9/24: 7.25 9/25: 5.96 9/27: 5.1 9/30: 10.16 Total for the month: 94.61 miles. Just short of 100 mile goal, but happy that I'm still injury free and got plenty of training in on the bike and xtraining with weights. Next month!

I'm terrible at logging on here! Looks like I may fall short too :( too much on my plate with all the weddings I'm in and work and training for a bike race as well. Anyway, here's mileage to add so far: 9/13: 4.1 9/14: 6.0 9/15: 5.3 9/17: 8.1 9/18: 3.5 9/19: 5.0 9/21: 4.1 Will post more after the bike race Saturday and my…

Sorry it's taken so long to check in! Busy with work and vacation! Week of Sept 3-9: 27.75 miles total. Planning on a long run tonight, will check in later!

You look great! We're in about the same place so I'm using you as motivation!

I'm 5'7"! Well, minus an inch, but with similar goals! Currently going back and forth from 138-140 lbs, goal is 130, give or take a couple. Feel free to add me! I'm pretty active-run, walk, or bike everyday, just need to watch portions and food better. Good luck!

Thanks for the invite! I'm gonna shoot for 100. Cooler weather should help :)

Runner here. Anywhere from 20-35 miles a week depending on the time I can make for it. 5 am everyday wears on ya! Feel free to add me, have run quite a few half marathons and have another coming up in December. I'm finally to the point where running is FUN...especially when you're done with a run :) Happy running!

Same here. Happened about 10 minutes ago!

Landman. Or landskirt. Depends on who ya talk to and what they feel like calling us these days.

And...when you see your stuff starting to wilt/go bad/soft/etc...freeze it! Fruit is good for smoothies, desserts, etc, and same for veggies, or you can steam them and incorporate them into other dishes. I despise the grocery store-I tend to spend more money there than on clothing or anything else it seems, so I rely a lot…

Must try this! It looks great!

Fellow Texas gal! I run generally 5-6 times a week. Bike twice a week at a moderate intensity. Yoga once a week. I started doing weights but kind of fell off the wagon. Running ultimately got me to drop the weight the quickest, but now that I need to start toning more I'm not seeing any big changes. I obviously need to mix…

Side note-my doctor recommended I use my inhaler 15 min before every run. I tried this a few times and it made my stomach hurt something terrible. And made my breathing worse weirdly enough, so for sure check with your doctor and see what works for you.

Start slow. Walk/run a lot! If you feel shortness of breath coming on, stop. Believe it or not, my asthma improved and is pretty much gone now. I'm not gonna lie though, it was really slow going and I thought I would pass out quite a bit or have an attack, but slowly but surely it got better. I'm now running 30-35 miles a…

Do you have a bike? That's good to mix it up. If not (and if you can scrape u a few bucks) Craigslist is a good place to look for bikes-you can find em on the cheap and they'll still get the job done! I can't use ellipticals, for some reason they kill my knees! I've never done 30 DS but I've done both Insanity and P90x.…

Don't stress too much about it! I usually run around 35+ miles a week-5/6 days a week. This week I've ran twice. My legs just seem so tired! I've been supplementing with biking, and I walk my dog everyday. Listen to your body! If your knees need a break, for sure don't push it. If you need a running buddy feel free to add…

My wrist is right under 6", I used the calculator and am told I'm small framed. This does NOT seem accurate. And it's discouraging :/ Guess I'll keep plugging away anyway!

I've got a Beretta PX4 Storm. And get certified with an automatic. If you certify with a revolver you can only carry a revolver. Automatic certified means you can carry either or.

5'6" here and have been stuck at 136-140 for a year now. Would love to be closer to 130. I run a ton but I need to lift more so that's what I'm struggling with so far. I hate lifting! :) Good luck!

Thanks everybody! I have obviously been reading conflicting reviews on the garmin/amazon sites. Much appreciated. Now I just have to decide on how much money I want to drop on the dang thing.

I had mine done in January of 2006. I still don't have 20/20 vision but it's pretty close. I was legally blind before, so I'll take it! I had (and still have) very dry eyes (they wanted to actually plug my tear ducts because my eyes were taking a while to heal, they were so dry,) but they healed fine. Still I carry a…
