  • Found the Crock Pot girls page on Facebook but can't see any recipes on there. In fact, it looks like an empty page. Any clues?
  • So sorry to hear that Emma - try not to get too down about it. Don't worry about the things you can't do, and concentrate on the things you can do. Hopefully as you have seen the doc, you are now on the way to recovery but you've got to take it slowly. I jumped a week and started at week 2 - day 1 done today. Hard work -…
  • I'm in and starting the treadmill version tomorrow.
  • Hi I'm up for this - I downloaded the treadmill version of this yesterday. If you google C25k there is a programme specially written for treadmill that gives you the timings to use. My personal trainer suggests an incline of 2.0 because he says this mimics road conditions best. I am starting to run on 8kph (about 5mph).…
  • Yes I'm just starting it. I've downloaded the programme written for the treadmill because I live in a country area and it's so dark when I get home from work that it's just not safe so I'll be doing it at the gym. I'm reasonably fit so I might miss the first couple of weeks, but I've always had trouble with building up a…
  • Spread the tortilla wrap with a dairylea lite triangle first, then pile with your turkey or chicken salad - saves using mayo,
  • So sorry to hear that....many thanks for still taking the time to post the winner. Hope to do this week's tomorrow
  • 3lbs lost so far.......fingers crossed
  • New scores for me: Wake me up - 10646 Katti Kalandal - 10406 Take me out - 9151 Total - 30203
  • Just follow the instructions on the page before - you'll need to post your scores by the end of tomorrow though.
  • Agree about bbcgoodfood.com - loads of good ideas - including another favourite of ours - Summer in winter chicken. Cook some chicken breasts, when ready, add 3 tblpsn low fat creme fraiche and 3tbspns pesto. Add 250g cherry tomatoes cut in half until they soften. Quick and easy.
  • How about some chicken - open up in half and stuff with low fat soft cheese with garlic and herbs, top with a slice of tomato and bake in the oven - serve with a load of veg or salad.
  • I am exercising every day - just to give myself enough calories but I can't manage that much exercise every week due to stuff going on with the children, so I am very happy with my decision now that I have spoken with you lovely people. I have under 20 pounds to lose, so you are right, down to 0.5lb per week means that I…
  • Hi all This is really tricky cos I normally have to let my 12 year old win but now I have to try and beat him!! He likes the idea that we are both in this together and it's motivational for me to do it with him so my first try of these songs is: Wake me up: 9865 Katti Kalandal 9581 Take me out 7153
  • How brilliant - really brought a smile to my face? I'd love you to live near me and motivate me all the time!! Thanks - hope all the positive comments made you feel validated too
  • Thanks all - you have confirmed what I was thinking. Am more worried about too many carbs or fat than I am about too much protein. I thought that protein was a good thing because it keeps you fuller for longer, but everything in moderation.
  • I'm sure you've checked but when I used to go to WW, she advised against these as she said they were actually quite calorific.
  • One of our family favourites is to poach salmon in water with some lemon juice in (or wine if you have the calories). While that's cooking, cook some pasta and steam some mushrooms and courgettes. When they are cooked, put the salmon in with the pasta and use low fat soft cheese to melt into a sauce, add the veg and hey…

  • watch the soups, they are usually packed with sodium and that sets up the sodium/fat/sugar spiral I wish there were a really good low sodium soup available Surely if you make your own soup then you can control the amount of sodium in it. Thai butternut squash is particularly rich in flavour but low in fat.
  • Hi all I think I put my name down for this and really want to join in. However my in-laws are still with us and are always sitting in the lounge where the Wii is. They don't leave till tomorrow - and, seriously, I am not going to provide them with entertainment by doing the challenge in front of them! Is it ok to start…
  • Totally agree that actually your body is ok not eating food for a couple of days while you settle down - lots of water though, then I would start with a piece of toast and see how you go with that. I disagree about banana and grape because these are quite complex foods for you to digest. If you can get dioralyte, that…
  • I soooo want the job of the person who has to drink but maybe it wouldn't be so much fun. I am having to cut back on the wine because it knocks me over my calories every time. I'm now on vodka, lime and soda water, so much better. Then if I really want wine, I choose when to have it and it doesn't make such a difference.
  • I don't know if others will agree with me but I don't think that you can just be generally fit. Every exercise requires different muscles and motivation, so in your spin class you are motivated by the music, the instructor and others but out there on the road, you only have yourself to motivate you. I find it incredibly…

  • Walking possibly. And if you like music, then I would find a local zumba class. There are all shapes, age and sizes in my class - some move more than others but there's a level for everyone and nothing too bendy.
  • How about some low cal soups - could help to fill you up even in between meals. I found some great recipes on Cook Yourself Thin and also the bbcgoodfood websites.
  • I'd love to run outside but I'm over 40 and I agree that it's pretty hard on the joints. I hurt my foot on one of my first runs and it seems to be taking ages to completely recover. I am still running but stick to the treadmill now because I don't want to end up with a permanent injury.
  • Absolutely in - just what I need. 5 lbs sounds doable
  • lol - sorry guys but I have to agree with you. Someone was living on another planet if they thought it was only 500 cals. Just proves you have to have your wits about you and not just enter and not think about it. Realistically I think it must be 1000 cals. So much grease and batter!! We only had it because the water in…
  • Thanks all - in the end I looked at the C210k and have noted down the timings. Because I have done a little bit of running before I am on about week 6 already and I feel pretty pleased with that. It's certainly making me work. I probably don't run for as many times as it says but it's getting me moving and that's what…
