Since we are all venting.... People who use pedantic corrections of spelling to score points on forum posts. GGGGRRRrrrrr! (Obviously I do not mean in this thread)

Irregardless: "Webster’s New International Dictionary (2nd. Ed. Unabridged, 1934) described the word as an erroneous or humorous form of regardless, and attributed it to the United States. It should also be noted that the definition in most dictionaries is simply listed as regardless (along with the note nonstandard, or…

I agree with this post almost completely. Childhood eating problems are extremely distressing for the parents. I'd like to add a couple of suggestions to consider: Children's taste buds change and develop at 2ish. Your child may be finding the new flavours distressing. Keep persisting - as mentioned above, she'll need to…

BONK! http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bonking Personally, I'd be happy to bonk after a work out. And I find that I'm a bit shaky afterwards too. If it's been good that is.

I'm sure you've heard the response that an eye for an eye leaves everyone blind.

It could be plantar fascitis. But you'd need a physio or doctor to tell you for sure. If the pain is getting worse, or not going away, you may need to rest, ice compress and elevate. And see someone who knows what they are talking about.

But don't you think it tastes better with basmati?
-
It's not deep fried. You have a pile of spiced rice with chicken and hopefully a lovely vegetable curry to go on top. The cooking uses a lot of ghee (clarified butter) so it is quite energy dense. The one I cook is about 600 cals per portion without the curry. If you want a recipe, this one is lush:…

Lardy Cake. A tiny slice is over 500 calories. But the tastiest 500 calories

I needed a new password of at least 8 characters for MFP: I chose Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

It is likely that you will over-pronate if you are overweight. Get someone to watch you run (or walk) and see if you are neutral. A treadmill and a video camera could be useful. Edit: I just did the online quiz too. It gave me the wrong result. It said I needed neutral shoes when I definitely need control shoes.

If that's all you're eating I'm surprised you're not fainting. I'd suggest weighing your foods. For example, you put in a 25g portion of MacDonald's French Fries. That's about 5 chips. Is that all you had? The other thing is that you've already lost loads of weight before starting this, which is amazing. Don't be too…

Bourbons or custard creams? I'm another biscuit addict but my problem is linked to tea. A cuppa can be a bit too wet without a gingernut or hob nob. Mmmmmmm Hob Nob! I wish I hadn't read this thread - all I can think of is biscuits now.

Alcohol and fruit. The pectins breakdown to methanol first and then formaldehyde.
-
Formaldehyde is a normal metabolite of many foods. It lasts about 2 minutes in a healthy body.

Again, thank you for the advice and I'm glad that I took the time to ask you. I now realise that Americans have a different use of the word spaz than we do. In Britain, it is one of the most offensive things you can call a disabled person. I hope that you understand why I questioned the word, but I am happy to accept no…
-
I've done a little extra reading about the difference in perception of the word in the US and here.
-
But as a final point - The word spazzing comes from spastic meaning to be clumsy, uncoordinated and uncontrolled. It would be very hurtful to use in earshot of a CP sufferer. I believe that use in America is considered much less offensive, but it comes from the same starting point.
-
Thank you. I am upset that the poster used the words without knowing what they mean but I can accept that she was not trying to be offensive. I am also wondering whether the word is used more in the states than over here.

This is not correct. Aspartame is metabolised into a variety of compounds including methanol, phenylalanine and aspartic acid. These are dealt with by the body as they are amino-acids or alcohols which for part of a natural diet. I think this story came from an internet/email hoax in the mid nineties and loads of fitness…

I thought it meant Non-Specific Vaginitis and offered some medical suggestions. That did not get well received! Back the the OP - that is a brilliant feeling. Well done, losing 5-6 inches from your waist is amazing.

That is a massive PB on the 5K. Great job!

Voluptuous sounds like a fantastic compliment to me. I believe it means sensuously pleasing and delightful.
