My bootcamp coach once said, "Sweat is just your fat crying!" Ha ha ha... Super funny, but so motivating, now when I'm dripping sweat onto the mat, I just visualize that is my fat running out! I know it's not literally true, but the image stuck with me and I feel so good when I sweat hard.

I'm not sure, but when I started trying to cut out the High Fructose Corn Syrup, I found that it comes in many forms by many names to make it extra confusing! Especially now that people are more on the look out for it, they've changed the name. Here are a couple of helpful sites:…

^^This... So sad... And beer! I knew it wasn't good, but damn, the good beers I like pack a wallop! I used to think nothing of having 3-4 beers on a night out... not anymore! But I did find this article for the beer drinkers around here. They list some good beers under 200 calories a bottle. Unfortunately, that's still A…

Thanks for this post and everyone for sharing. I see some of myself in a lot of your stories, I thought I was really the only person who'd eat "pre-dinner" from mickey d's on the way home, buying snacks, candy, little debbie nutty bars were my weakness, hiding them in my bag, in my car... sigh. It was so embarrassing. I'm…

I had this same realization recently. That I'm probably eating like half of the calories I used to eat when I had no idea how many calories were in anything... sheesh. it's like you suddenly "wake up" and think, my god, no wonder I got so fat! lol...

I didn't... how would they get removed? Did some one "report post"? I have no problem with anything you might want to say...

I have been exercising and eating healthily for only 4 weeks and have lost 9.6 lbs. You can lose weight quickly if you do it the right way also. And I eat plenty of food, stay full and measure and count my calories. And, work towards a lifestyle change that sticks.

I have gradually reduced processed foods anyway in the last couple of years with a few exceptions. I will look at your diary. Thanks!

That's good to know. Yes, I don't think I'd cut dairy entirely, I love cheese. ha ha. But I read that aged cheeses are better than other types, so I figured I could switch over to those.

I had a job like that for a long time. It's so hard to resist the sodas in the fridge. When I worked there, one day the supply girl told me that I was drinking at least 4 or 5 a day since I was the only Dr. Pepper drinker in the office. So one day I kept the empty cans out where I could see them and was so appalled, I…

My bootcamp trainer told me the same thing. I don't think there's anything wrong with cheese in moderation. I have a little in my eggs sometimes. I told him that as long as I stay under my calories and work out, then I'm not giving it up completely.

Yes, it's by Gary Taubes.

Here's the Walden Farms website: http://www.waldenfarms.com/nutrition_facts.html# it seems they have "trace calories" but I don't like that I don't know what the heck most of the ingredients really are, lots of "flavors". Seems too artificial for my taste. I just like some fresh squeezed lime juice on my veggies for salad.

I've seen it in at Walmart near the rice, by the packaged, flavored mixes for rice or pastas. The Walmart near me only carries one type it is in a turquoise box and is a little over $4. Quinoa is pronounced: "KEEN-wah"

You can find it in the bulk aisle if your HEB has a bulk area, be sure to rinse well. It is also with the rice. They don't have a large selection often, so it can be hard to spot. At my HEB, it's kept near the packaged, flavored rices.

If you buy it bulk, rinse it well. If you buy it packaged, check that it's rinsed to keep the bitterness out. It really doesn't have a particular flavor I don't think, it's a lot like rice that way. It is easy to cook and keeps well. I make a batch on Sundays and it lasts all week long. At HEB, it can be found with the…

The book title is probably a little misleading. It's focus is more on the correlation between eating animal fats and proteins vs. vegetable fats and incidence of heart disease and longevity. Like I said, I'm only a couple of chapters in but so far, it is just going over studies done over the years that lead the American…

Try baby carrots with hummus.

I can get through more and more reps in my fitness bootcamp, and the plyometric/jumping exercises are getting easier! And for the first time ever, I look forward to working out. When I get up in the morning, I lay there for a few minutes thinking it's early, but I can't wait to get to bootcamp. I love it!

What about Halloween Hot Tamales (like the candy)?

I have found that organic, fair trade, dark chocolate works so well for me. It's delicious and a square or two completely satisfies my chocolate cravings. I found some individually wrapped dark chocolate squares. 50 cals per square make for a nice treat.

I'm a newbie and still trying to figure it all out. I do a fitness bootcamp 4-5 times a week, with some random walking, kayaking or leisure swimming on the weekends. I started about 3 weeks ago and have already lost 2.6 lbs. current weight: 220 goal by halloween: 210 ~1.25lbs/week

Try Old Bay seasoning. I never have to put anything on it to make it stick, it is super delicious! Here's a link: http://www.oldbay.com/Products/Old-Bay-Seasoning.aspx

I'm 5'3" and aiming for 140 or so as well. I don't think your age or the fact that you have kiddos should determine your goals. Aim for what you feel healthy at. If anything, from looking at people's success photos, everyone looks younger at their goal, that's never a bad thing. I wouldn't worry about what other people…

I have found if I type in "raw" or "fresh" before or after an ingredient it helps. I had the same problem when I started, always restaurant meals popped up. Also check your settings on recent foods to make sure it says all meals. After a few days, most of the things you usually use will be here and easier to find.

I joined a fitness bootcamp, 1hr a day, 5 days a week and I love it. Always a different workout.

I like others eat organic dark chocolate. I don't even like milk chocolate or crave candy bars when I eat the dark chocolate. And it is so satisfying, one square is plenty for me. This brand is super delicious https://chocolatebar.com/index.php I recently found these individually wrapped in a package of 10 at the grocery…

I was eating 3 egg, egg white omelettes a morning and the nutritionist working with me told me to up it to 4. So I have been having 4 egg whites omelette style every morning the last couple of weeks. The cholesterol and fats are in the yolk. Many people do like 3 egg whites plus one whole egg also. I thought egg whites…
