You are beautiful! But I won't tell you how to feel, because everyone feels differently about themselves at different times in their journey. I can say that, for myself, much of my self-esteem building happened when I shifted my focus - I stopped spending hours looking at pictures of women I considered to be "perfect"…

boom. right there. if you are eating, oh, let's say 200 calories under your daily calorie burn, then it will take you more than two weeks to lose a pound....not 9 days. And that's if you're counting is completely accurate. As far as losing pounds - it's calories in vs calories burned. The end. And good luck! Set a plan, be…

I think your soon-to-be-moving-out-this-saturday-ex should actually be your comes-home-with-all-his-crap-in-the-yard-and-the-door-locked-tonight ex :)

Thanks for all the replies everyone! It's great to know that other people do this, too! And good to see the different thoughts on social vs gym time :)

No, it's true - seriously, you guys. No fruit after 3 pm. Also, did you know if you shake your food before you eat it, most of the calories will sink to the bottom - only eat the top half and you won't gain weight....

I'll follow you! I love fitness blogs! you look fantastic - congrats!

Was it Barney Stinson? he sounds like he's just trying to put you down so you'll have low self-esteem and need approval from men and want to date him. Punch him in the face instead.

protein and lift heavy (learn proper form if you don't know it yet - it's worth it :) good luck!! *just saw this was baby number 6 - oh my word - that's awesome! Way to make time for exercise still!!

Yeeeeah CrossFit! :) Great work!

this. I'm currently 18% bf (pic is around 20%) and I do Crossfit (heavy lifting, less reps) twice a week and HIIT cardio 5 days a week. That's just what worked for me - good luck!!

i'm 5'8" - I've been between 142 and 147 for years now and I would really like to drop that last 10 pounds and see what 135 looks like on me.

I know this isn't the advice you specifically asked for, buuuuttt - definitely make working out a priority, and I would also suggest getting massages when you can (find a therapist who works with injury and illness clients because they will be much more helpful than someone at a spa) - I'm a massage therapist and have…

No, it's not.

Ooh, we sound similar! I have 10-12 more pounds I want to lose - but I feel like I'm crawling through it right now. And I'm considering competing this year!
-
ooh, that's tough! My initial response is to say No Way! You made the team so you deserve to be there! However, I don't know how it feels to basically have to wear something you don't feel comfortable in (I tried out for the dance team in HS and wasn't coordinated at all...didn't make it, so I never had to worry about the…

I run my own business and December is always the busiest month of the year - so this year, I decided to get myself 3 things.... - Don't be Martha Stewart - I bought any cookies/desserts I was supposed to bring to parties instead of baking a ton, I bought my whole family nerf guns and set up games for us to play instead of…

Yeah, that sounds about right :) It gets easier...if you stick with it, and work to improve. I've also noticed, for myself, that doing sprints several times during the week help me a lot - I think just teaching yourself when you get to the point where you can't breathe and you're so worn out - that your body CAN actually…

4 pounds in 7 weeks is awesome :) ...I'm a numbers person, so in my mind, I put it this way.... that's more than .5 a pound per week - which is about as much as you want to lose per week when you have less than 25 or so pounds left to lose... My suggestion - trust the math - be honest and carefully track how many calories…
-
I can't see the picture, but great job maintaining! I'm half way through a focused attempt to lose those last 15 pounds and I'm finding that it really is just about keeping track of my calories and burning more than I consume...who knew? ;)
-
Wow! Keep up the good work! You're right - I can totally see a difference in just those 4kg! Nice job!
-
hahaha, I do! But I also often will mix up the price of something with the calories in it - I know this is really strange - but I eat pretty much the same foods every week, so i will grab a protein bar that I remember costs 1.88 and think it has 188 calories in it.....it's weird, I know.

I don't really have any advice, as I'm going through the same thing - started lifting again recently and have gained some weight - but I know that the closer you are to your goal weight, the tougher it is to drop weight. Just make sure you're calculating things correctly and trust the process :) It'll happen!
