As you say you have good quality clothes then I would recommend you look to get a couple of items altered professionally. You should be able to find someone local to you. It's not cheap but it should be less than buying something completely new. I am told there are good bargains to be had on ebay too.

Do what suits your lifestyle now and for the long term because that's what matters. I can only manage twice a week and I'm doing fine. I also know that I'll still keep it at that level when I reach my target weight.

I only log pure water in that section which means it rarely shows more than 2 cups because I don't like the stuff!!! I don't stress about it because I know that it's the fluid from all your food and drink intake that matters and I eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

A woman can always fnd that thing a man says he has looked everywhere for......usually just where it's supposed to be!!
-
I weigh myself every day but only record once a week and then only if I've dropped a whole pound....so sometimes the intervals are longer!

The rubix cube I was given which has numbers instead of colours to align (I've never done it!) wrapped in some pink birthday wrapping paper from the desk drawer.

Well said! Personally I'd like them to show the posts in reverse order....so the most recent ones are at the top of the page. That way I'd only need to look at a few to see where the thread has got to.

I only exercise a couple of times a week and am doing really well. I could force myself to do more now but know I wouldn't keep it up once I reach my target weight. This way I know that I'll still be happy to do the exercise on an ongoing basis.

Depends how bad the cold is and what technique you use. I would swim with a light cold but as I wear a nose clip and breathe only through my mouth anyway it isn't a problem.

I don't have one but I do get fed up with people on here who present their opinions or someone else's as fact. The same goes for those who are convinced that because a particular way of doing something worked for them it will do the same for everyone else.

Thanks for the suggestions I will give one or two a try. Whatever it is has to be OK after 24 hours at room temperature as I won't have access to a fridge.
-
Very true.....and you're not alone there are plenty of women 'of a certain age' on here.
-
No idea....but I don't mind having mine.....it's only noticeable when I'm down near my target weight so I look at it in a positive way.

Shaving for Halloween???? I am a Brit.......what's all that about???
-
And I can vouch for the fact that life is still going strong beyond 50!!

I ignore it totally. Virtually all my sugar comes from fruit, veg, yogurt etc. I am losing weight steadily and am getting fitter and that is what matters to me. Equally I don't obsess about how much water I drink or the fact that I never get close to the target for iron.
-
What sort is it and where did you get it? I swim a lot and counting the lengths does get very boring!!!

Freeze some before adding the cheese, then add that when you reheat it.

I go to the gym or swim sometimes after work. If all I'm doing is going home afterwards I just rinse my hair in the shower (no shampoo or conditioner) and then let it dry naturally. I have long hair so it takes a while to dry naturally and looks terrible. I then wash and blow dry it the next day before work. My hair is dry…

My tip would be to find a way of exercising that you enjoy. I have been going to aquafit for a few weeks and I keep going mostly because I enjoy it rather than because it's part of my weight loss plan. Be realistic about how often and for how long you can exercise in the long term. I don't have much time because of work…

There is a step missing from your process....... First locate your dipstick!!

I am no expert but I don't think oil evaporates much. I always include all the oil I add to the recipe even if some may be left in the pan. That way I never underestimate the calories.
-
I have sleep problems for other reasons which are made worse by cutting down on calories and feeling hungry in the night. I ignore all the nonsense which is written about not eating after a certain time. I keep enough calories(about 35) back to eat a rice cake immediately before I go to sleep....and I mean literally before…
-
Have you tried any of the herbal remedies for the night sweats etc? I take black cohosh which I think helps (maybe I only think that but who cares!!) I did try red clover but that didn't seem to work.
-
Yes I know exactly what you mean too!!
-
And me....I'm 51....in the UK but I'm sure we all still have the same 'issues'.
-
I agree 100% with this....I am 51 and thought it might be too late but it is working for me. Go for it and good luck!!!
-
No....but I wish it would.......most of the weight I need to lose is on my tum and bum!
-
I add the foods from the database as it does seem to have everything I need. Only occasionally have I need to add just the calories. I only take notice of the calories and the fat. If you eat fruit on a regular basis you will never keep under the target for sugar anyway.

You are so right. My GP told me 18 months ago that weight gain was inevitable and I shouldn't worry about it so I didn't. I wish I'd realised sooner that she (yes a female doctor!!) was wrong and I would have started on MFP a lot sooner.
