Chelsea, you have a routine down well! That's great! I used to do fasted cardio, but only when it was 30 minutes, but now I have to eat or I will feel drained also. Sometimes I have 1/2 banana and nut butter; apple and string cheese, or Shakeology, which is about 150 cals with water or 180 with unsweetened almond milk.…

Roni, how motivating!!! That's right, there should be NO SHAME! That's one thing that get me every time. Going out! I'll stay at home most weekends to avoid temptations. I will make a goal of mine to take something healthy to 1 event where I know there won't be any good choices. Leaving out added sugar is definitely a…

There is a modification for that plank in my Les Mills Hard Core Abs, which unlike the picture, the lift is from the knee. Those are the ones that I can do. It is still very challenging, especially when they add the arm pointing out over the head.
-
That sounds like a killer plank, but one that will get results!!

Annette, here is the recipe for a gluten & guilt free pizza, created by my nutrition and fitness "Goddess," Brenda Leigh Turner. You can find her YouTube channel, Lean Secrets. This pizza is amazing, and you two have made me crave it for dinner!!!

Roni, now I see. You are lowering the net, which is not a problem at all in the way you described it. Too often I see people under eating (lower than their BMR), which I was guilty of at one time. This is how I ended up gaining almost ALL of my weight back and looking terrible (fat pockets & no tone). And, it was difficult…

ChelseaSM.... you are on the same track as my resources that I have been reading and gathering advice. Plan ahead and make it simple, in bulk, and repetitive. I posted a sample meal plan for the week on Wednesday, but I'm not sure if the link worked. Here it is again, but you may inbox me your e-mail address if you want me…

This is my dream workout shoe! I don't have them yet, but I plan to reward myself after the first 5 pounds are lost.
-
Absolutely! We get it in when we can fit it in. Anytime you post is great! I find it encouraging also, no matter the frequency. We have a "few" more days ahead of us, so we'll have plenty of posts.

Thanks Tasha! I am focusing on incorporating small, incremental changes also. Hopefully, to have those changes make up 80% of my nutrition, without blinking or feeling deprived. Starting with 3 veggies a day is a great goal.

That's fabulous that your cravings are going away!!! I think sugar is the root of all evil!

My motivation is standing right next to me! Also, a look at this picture of myself is quite motivating. This is about 2 1/2 years ago, and we were both leading a healthier lifestyle. We would spend weekends participating in group exercise or walk/runs (we would walk) I was more active, and encouraging my daughter to be as…

You're welcome!!! What great motivation!

Chelsea, that turkey chili looks very good!!! I may try that next week! Roni, I am curious about you lowering your calories so much, especially with all of the activity that you do. You want to be sure to have enough energy to expend. I think I will post info. on calorie intake tomorrow. Continue to contribute when you…

Your meal sounds delish!!! I love cabbage and red onions! That's right, don't give in. Keep the same momentum this week because you may have lost inches.

Here is one easy way: 1. Go to www.tinypic.com 2. Click on the "image" tab 3. Enter an image topic in the search area (upper right), and click on a picture ; or upload your own on the "upload" tab 4. Copy and paste the image code for forums into your discussion (bottom left; see pic below) 5. Make

Great job!!! What a wonderful way to stay focused on what's important! You will be so fit and healthy when it's time for your baby! It will also be easier to pass good habits along to your child when you have already made them a habit. I am having to reprogram my family, including my 15 year old, to eat properly and…

Yes, lightening up on yourself is a great idea. I like how you describe dropping those pounds and they are gone forever!!!!

Great goal for this week. Friday, I will share a meal plan, and we will discuss the importance of planning meals for the week and eating the same things for the week. I look forward to you success this week.
-
Great goal, teemillion! Balance is very important. I have experienced those total restriction periods, which have ALWAYS resulted in overeating afterwards. We can do this!!!! Remember the 80/20 rule for nutrition.

I think I had a strong week 1, but I was so afraid to mess up, that I left all treats for Saturday. This week, I will not do that. I will try the 80/20 rule, and include a small indulgence about 5 times. If you are interested, here is the link to a Blog where I got this idea. DaNelle explains ways to live a very healthy…

Good luck to you too! That's a smart idea and great goal, to move more at home. We don't often add those types of calories in our diary, but I'm sure they burn calories, even if only a small amount. So, that's a plus when is comes to our day.
-
Great goal! It is good to avoid excuses, but be sure that you are listening to a doctor's advice when it comes to your knee and exercise. It's a good idea to stop if you feel pain. Until you knee is all better, you can focus more on upper body like triceps, biceps, shoulders, chest, and traps. I know these are not the huge…

Roni, that's awesome! I am happy to remind you of something you have reminded me of. You are a GREAT motivator and testimony as to how patience and steady, slow loss is best for us. You have come so far! I just read an article that explained how the best time to weigh is after two rest days, or definitely not after…

Your husband may be doing a "slow carb" diet. A couple of ways you can get protein is Greek yogurt, black beans, avocados, cottage cheese, chickpeas, quinoa, pumpkin seeds, and almonds.

Hi Roni! What wonderful advice. I know from experience that being short on money and time can often lead to eating fast and cheep. Thus, the result is gaining because that fast food is loaded with so many unnatural chemicals. Those ideas are great for "having the cake and eating it too!!" My nutrition plan is very close to…

Hi Annette! You are welcome! My plan is to research as much as possible during this challenge, to build a toolbox of good, motivating information to sustain us for 90 Days. I am glad that you see a difference in your energy with a change in nutrition. We can all use more energy. I noticed an increase in my overall…

You are so welcome! One thing that I am doing during this challenge is researching best practices when it comes to fitness training, nutrition, and fat-loss. I had the same misconception as you, about working more to eat more! Now, I have an entirely new approach. That's a great strategy you use to keep the junk food out…
-
I had the same question, but forgot to ask! I read on the blog of a credible bodybuilder who is in to carb cycling that you shouldn't go below 150 grams/day.

Hi Roni! You've have used the quote feature correctly. Thanks so much for the tips for running. That does sound like it might take some getting used to, but well worth the effort!
