My own thread scares me! I've learned quite a bit thanks to everyone. Remember everyone, we are here to support one another. Every single one of us has different views and ideas about the things we do to lose weight. Every body and mind is different. I appreciate all the enthusiasm and know that at least one person learned…

I agree, trust me. I lost my first 50 pounds very quickly by working out 4 days a week and eating my daily alloted calories. I've been stuck at the same weight for months now and was wanting to help get myself moving again. You're completely right about the dressings too, it's scary how much fat/carbs are in them. My…

Thanks girls! I completley agree about needing carbs and everything on the food pyramid. I've been stuck at this weight for months now and was having major mental blockage about getting passed it. I thought this would help jumpstart me and it has. This weekend I'll start incorporating whole grains and complex carbs back…

You're all the best, thank you! No stairs and this part of town is kind of scary, no outdoor running/walking for me. I'm thinking jump rope and jumping jacks will be good. I'm open and welcome to any other ideas!

Excited to have you! This site has opened a lot of doors for me physically and emotionally. Thank you for your sweet and heartfelt comment on my post earlier today! :)

Maybe I should add... I was thinking about canceling my gym membership and working out from home. My gym is 20 minutes away, I know that doesn't sound terrible but I work a lot of hours and think working out from home would almost be more motivating, if that makes any sense :P

Wow, so many great stories! Thank you for all of the support. I agree, that chapter has closed and I need to do the right thing and complete the journey. I of course have a dinner party tonight, but maybe I can sneak in a little jog before we have guests over. You're all the best!!

Awe thanks. It too me about 8 months to lose the first 50 pounds but I've been at the same weight for close to 6 months now..Time to kick that last 30 but I seem to always have an excuse for not "doing it".

I was actually just about to search for a thread like this. Going through the same thing myself. Have the equipment but want to make sure I'm motivted enough before I quit my gym...

You nailed it. People always ask, "What's the trick, what's the secret?" My answer, "Working out and eating right." There is no secret, it takes hard work!

Welcome to the road! I got my first road bike last year a 2010 Cannondale Synapse 6 Feminine, true love right there! I haven't been riding much this winter (battling the weather, being sick and now a knee injury). It's an amazing feeling, I love that you can make your rides peaceful and serene or intense and aggressive.…

I did it a few years back and lost 20 pounds very fast! It's very restrictive but was filling, made sense and worked.

I've always wanted a road bike and finally broke down this month to get a Cannondale Synapse 6 Feminine, she's a beauty! Yes, the price prohibits many people (finally got all the gear together) but the cost longterm is minimal if you love and use the bike regularly. I'm still learning to ride and learning general bike…

I signed in this morning to search for a "spin" thread and found this! I had my first spin class last week and did another one this morning, I LOVE IT! I've been looking for an exercise that I actuually "enjoy" and I've finally found it. Super excited! I wish you luck on your first class, enjoy the music and set your…

I love the treadclimber machine at my gym. Although I don't get completely out of breath I sweat a lot more than I do with any other workout :) It seems to be doing the trick for me lately!

I needed this thread...Talk about motivation! 1. Wear a bikini for the first time EVER 2. Buy Kayaks to wear my new bikini in 3. Do a half marathon 4. Make my husband drool, he's already really proud but I want him to be like "Wow, that is MY wife!" :P

There are so many things to "focus" on these days. I'm thinking I may stick to an emphasis of cardio and strength training for the overall weight loss (still wanting to lose about 30 pounds). Maybe I'll add a bonus workout for the bum, any suggestions? New to working out in general.
-
I am so thankful you are writing this! I had an awakening this weekend when I realized I had lost my entire bum!!! It was actually a complete surprise and am literally flat as a pankcake, kind of weird. Let me know how BBL is or if you have any other advice or suggestions!!

I just read your post on Couch to 5k, thinking of also joining! I don't know what it is about 90's music that pumps me up, sounds lame but true! Gonna Make You Sweat Pump Up the Jam Get Ready for This Space Jam and a personal favorite Pitbull - Shut it Down :P

Wow, congrats!! 51 pounds and under 300 is AMAZING! Keep up the great work missy :0) Today I broke the 200 mark, 199.5 and I'll take it, whoo!

I'm new to working out, in general but have been going to the gym 3-4 times a week for the last 3 months and really seeing results. Do you think it's too much to do the Shred in the morning (530) and 45-1 hour at the gym in the evenings?
-
I was hoping a new group would pop up! I started my Shred today also, the plan is to wake up a little early each day and do it in the morning. I've done it on and off for a week or so just to test the waters but am ready to commit. I'm hoping this will help push me below the 200 mark (203 now)! I never thought such basic…
