I've never worried about carbs, frankly, and I've lost nearly 30 lbs. since August. Calories are all I keep track of, and it seems to be working for me. Moderation is key, I suppose.

I might start eating some avocados with every meal. They go down easy, have the calories I need, and aren't too bad for me.

Changing your diet will help you, but it might not be enough to stop symptoms. I'd recommend a salad (celery, carrots, lettuce, and spinach don't seem to irritate my stomach), rice with some chicken (perhaps with some low-calorie sauce of your choice), or low-sodium soup. Lotion might not be your best bet. Try Gold Bond or some sort of medicated powder. Make sure you have a layer of clothing between your legs while you walk, to avoid them from rubbing together, and to avoid the sweat from irritating it. You could probably walk again tomorrow; it might sting a bit, but just go easy.

My daily goal is 1660, so I try to come as close to that as possible. At worst, I've been about 400 below that. That's as low as I'll go.

That's about how much I'm drinking, too, MrsPhan. Perhaps a couple glasses more after a big workout. :) And damn, I pee all the time. It gets a bit annoying. :laugh:

My mom has taken care of sick family members in the past, instead of having them thrown away to rot in a nursing home. If there's ever a point when she can't take care of herself, I'll gladly do the same for her and take her into my home. I just don't believe that one should abandon a family member in one of these places.…

Checking online or in MFP's database is often what I do. I know it's not going to be 100% accurate all the time, but gives me a good estimate. Either that, or I pull out a ruler to measure them. I'll be here all week, folks.

I started last week, followed MFP's recommendations and my calorie counter, and have already lost 2+ lbs. It's possible. I've noticed no adverse health effects, either. I'm actually feeling as healthy as ever.

They often have salads offered for lunch and dinner. I'd take advantage of that. I also agree with jjdevore; make sure you're bringing healthy snacks to the dorm. I loaded up on pretzel M&Ms, and all sorts of junk last year. Let's say the result wasn't desirable. :P

Just tried one of these today. They're awesome! Very filling too. When I'm craving sweets, I just move away from the kitchen and find something else to do. After a while, I'll forget about it.
