  • I've been here for awhile, it's slow going as I had a bad knee injury. I log in daily and love the motivation. I do tend to be honest but fair. Add me if you want! Good luck everyone.
  • Well I've never been an athlete. I am however a mom, but my youngest is 20! Been trying to lose this 'babyfat' for really, really long time LOL. Kids are all moved out, I just don't want to have to travel with a suitcase full of pills as I gracefully (read as 'kicking and fighting, biting and spiting') get older. So if you…
  • Wine! Red wine! White wine! Rose' wine!
  • Your sodium intake is a bit high a few times with very little water to flush it out. Cut back on the sodium and up your water. Put squirt of lemon or lime juice in it. Sodium makes you retain water thus making the loss slower.
  • I got my first one 15 years ago, it's on my calf. My second one came about a year later then I got my 3rd about 5 years after the second. The second one is over my heart and the third on my shoulder. At the time I was a Lead Orthodontic Technician. Our doctor didn't mind as long as they weren't visible to patients. On…
  • We have a Lab/Pyr mix, 2 Schipperkees and 2 sister cats that turned 16 last month. All rescues :)
  • You look stunning! You look 10 years younger in your last picture compared to the first one! Well done, how inspiring. :drinker:
  • Thanks everyone! It truly is an amazing feeling. And to each of you quitting, keep it up, good luck you are SO WORTH IT!
  • Thanks! We should all celebrate our NSV's. I think they are very important! Dougii, of course, one doesn't ride to the pub and not have a pint!
  • Hello! This site has great conversions. http://allrecipes.com/howto/cup-to-gram-conversions/ You can buy imperial measurement cups and a good glass measure cup will have imperial and metric. If you want to do weight, Argos has a great digital scale that does ml, ounce and grams, it's their colour range and they are easy to…
  • I was digging on the chick that looked wasted! Yeah I'm having another glass of wine.... Oh and this comment; 'Try to not think about things that may anger or upset you. Try to distract yourself with pointless, but light and fluffy things that like pictures, or reading an engrossing novel, etc. Even classic books are on…
  • Get with your GP and get a referral to an Orthopaedic specialist! Good luck, and yeah curb the running for a bit.
  • I'm enjoying them. They're an easy, fun read. I just spent weeks read The Historian and this is definitely a nice change.
  • Once you close out the day there is a message on your wall that says "so an so completed their diary for such and such date and is under their limit" or if not under then it just says it was completed. People can still leave comments on your wall though. Make sense? ETA: They can comment but if it's not public they can't…
  • I'm soooo close to 189, I hope to be there by my next weigh in day, next Friday! Congrats!
  • It says I could hit my goal by January, this makes it seem less daunting. Who knows, gotta keep trying!
  • If you drink Lite beer, do you throw up 1/3 less?
  • While my injury is no where near the scale that yoovie's was (well done to you by the way!) I can understand your frustration and aggrevation of dealing with constant pain. Last year on June 8th I went with a friend to try out competitive badminton. I had just started my journey of getting fit and healthy that March. I was…
  • I don't drive so I take the bus into town and walk to the gym. It's about a 20+ minute walk. It's great going because I don't have to warm up at the gym and it is literally down hill. I HATE the walk back! It gives me time to think "why the hell am I doing this?" so going back also means it's all uphill. The time that I am…
  • I like Facebook for the purpose it serves. I like MFP for the purpose it serves. :drinker:
  • Self employed proofreader, virtual administrator and part time dog biscuit baker. (I have clients!)
  • I use a scale and measuring cups. I am amazed at what a serving is and can understand how people under estimate the calories they eat. Over time you will be able to eyeball a portion size.
  • Your arguement was that people didn't have access to food, they didn't have access to vitamins and supplements either. While it may be an acceptable means of weight loss now it wasn't when you didn't have access to food. So which part of what I said was a fallacy? That they were not eating for appearance sake or from lack…
  • Please. My mother grew up in WWII Germany. She knew what it meant to have no food. No one saw it as a way to stay slim. Were they healthier because of it, no they weren't. Scurvy was prevelant, anemia and a host of other illnesses. Her mother died at a fairly young age from the flu because she didn't have the strength to…
  • There is great advice on adding fibre to your diet, but let me add this...I decided to up my intake and track it. I hit the daily average pretty fast by making sure to eat more high fibre foods. This led to constipation. Add it in slowly and work up to a correct daily amount, not all at once. Good luck!
  • I would never ever ever reach into a porta potty. I will find a bush or tree to pee behind before I use a porta potty. If there was nothing else available and I had no choice I would hover and I don't care what falls in I don't want it. Nothing, at all, no, nada, nothing. I'm gonna go wash my hands now...
  • Good luck, it's not easy. I just had surgery for my torn meniscus last month. The bike and the elliptical were great and low impact. I have nothing to add to what imamess said, those were the same exercises I did. I'm lucky that I will be able to start running again soon.
  • True The next person is adopted.
  • I've tested the bike at the gym along with my HRM and they are closer to each other than the number MFP gives me, so go with the lower one until you get your own HRM.
