I’m currently using an Animas 2020 and I love it. I was going to upgrade to the Ping a while back but decided to hold off on it. Animas is working on releasing a pump that’s integrated w/ a CGM. The Ping is just integrated w/ a meter. The FDA still hasn’t approved its US release yet. That’s the only reason I haven’t…

Sorry, I’m not in a position financially where I can donate money. But, I do have some questions. How much to the service dogs cost? Does insurance help pay for it or is it going to be out of pocket?

I do 3x5 for my deadlifts. I enjoy them too much to only do 5 reps.

I’ve asked my endo about the same thing. He said he’s got some patients that suffer from dementia and thinks it’s from lots of low blood sugars during their lives. I just participated in a study recently. They were testing to see if diabetics that pass out because of low blood sugar are affected by it. They seem to think a…

If you read Rippetoe's stuff, he says if you have experience lifting or it’s just ridiculously easy, you can increase by 10 lbs instead of 5 for the first few weeks or so.

Sure, it gets in the way sometimes but you get used to it pretty quickly. Yes, it’s all day thing because it replaces the long acting insulin. Mine, like most pumps, disconnect so you can take a shower, swim, play sports, or ‘cuddle’ your lover for up to an hour or so. I can’t speak for the ladies, but I tuck my pump in my…

Starting strength has a free forum. That wil put even less of a dent in your bank account.

We call this ‘delayed hypoglycemia’ in the beetus world. I’ve been a T1D for about 15 years. I still don’t know when I’m going to have a case of it. The only thing you can do is just Wilford Brimley her diabetes. “Check your sugars, and check em often.”

I used to think I was an ectomorph/ hard gainer. Turns out, that’s a bunch of crap. Even though I thought I was eating a lot, I wasn’t. Eat more and put more effort into lifting and you’ll gain weight.

I’m in the same boat. I go through 3 different places; 1 for strips, 1 for insulin, and 1 for pump supplies. I go through Liberty. I’ve got it set up on the auto-order thing. Their robot calls me when I’m due for more strips, then they send them out. Pretty easy once it gets set up.

I sit the morning after a night of drinking. That's like a marathon pee session for me and my balance is usually not the greatest at the time.

@Canderson5805 There's definitely going to be a bit of an adjustment period. I didn’t have too many wacky blood sugars because of switching to the pump. You’ll learn to adjust your basal rates as you start going higher or lower at certain times of the day. @unknown_siste Make sure you tuck the tubing in. Sometimes it seems…

I'm gonna say just the opposite. If you've got the energy use it.

$500 on a custom tailored 3 piece suit. Well worth it. I just need friends to get married or people to kick the bucket so I can wear it more often.

1. People that just do half reps... go all the way down and all the way up 2. Don’t brag about the weight you lift while doing half reps…if you do a proper rep, that stack will be a lot lighter 3. You’re sore and don’t know why...maybe it’s all those half reps 4. Don’t preach to me about supplements 5. The lack of gym…

I'm no doctor, but 50-100 carbs per meal seems like quite a bit. Did the Dr's put you on that much?

Oh yeah, I know exactly what you’re going through. I always get that way when I wake up during the night w/ a low. I just want to nom nom everything in sight. My problem was I would eat until I wasn’t feeling low anymore; which is roughly ½ a box of cap’n crunch, 3 or 4 bowls of milk, the remaining cheez-its in the box,…

Buy them in person!! I bought a pair over the interwebs, then had to buy a different pair because they didn't fit right.

I just ate...now I'm getting hungry again.

I love hearing these responses. I'm pretty new to paleo/primal and I've just been telling people I don't eat processed foods.
-
I love the people that say they don't crave sweets...yet drink more than one can of soda in a day.
-
I'm in the same boat. After taking a couple months off from fast food, I had some Jack in the Box tacos. I felt like puking after eating them.

Combine your sugar and carb intake. Avoid processed sugars.

I’m a T1 and definitely don’t have a problem w/ not sweating. If anything, I sweat too much which most likely causes me to get dehydrated.

My cardio days are a combo of jump rope and burpees.

I bet those guys you're talking about don't even drive trucks.
