Do you have any *supportive* room mates? Like people who don't criticize you and make you defend your per-determined choices and boundaries all the time? If so, hang more with that person. Because these folks could certainly be more encouraging, as friends go. Good for you for not falling to their peer pressure.

Children's taste buds do not appreciate adult food; their growth and activity has them craving things that are higher in calories than what you need to lose weight. The problem is that they don't need that stuff either, they just want it. Your job as Mom is to provide healthy food and adequate amounts of food for them.…

I'm in Vancouver....Washington State. Also known as 'The other Vancouver." Not in Canada, We are right across the Columbia river from the infamous Portland, Oregon, and most of the people who live in my town work over there. The best thing about this area is that it's the Pacific Northwest, and you can drive to the most…

Hair dye. Start now, pick a color, stay with it. No one will know where the white ones are ....except your hair dresser. I did it with a black with purple highlight combo that I refresh regularly. Most hair ppl will tell you that white hair will not hold the dye as long, which I found to be true to one degree or another,…

Cary's sugar free maple syrup and almond butter. The almond butter adds calories, but also the nutrition it holds is worth the exchange IMO.

Other options that I've seen no one mention: 1. Get a protein bar that has a chocolate coating to it. Use it as one of your meals. Power Crunch bars are a lot like cookies. If you have one during the day, you can then reason with yourself in the evening that you've already had chocolate. 2. Make your own sugar-free…

My guess is that your posture shifted on the scale in a way that is so natural to you that you never noticed it. My digital scale gives me two different readings depending on how close together my feet are. Of course, the diff is never over .5 of a pound.

Have you ever noticed that the Engineering Department and the Psychology Department are very near each other on many college campuses? The obvious explanation is that the engineers need psychological services. However, have you ever seen a psychologist try to fix an office printer?

The dryer doesn't eat the sock, it helps the sock morph into it's adult form, the wire hanger. Socks are only larvae from wire coat hangers, which is why hangers show up in the weirdest places...but only after a sock has gone missing! The heat from the dryer speeds up the process.

I was 40 and decided I didn't want to die young. I lost 40 lbs in two years, then I quit smoking, and gained most of it back again. But I never quit working out. And I will lose that extra weight if I just keep working at it.

I could not see anything in your diet without your permission.
