Body recomposition is modifying the ratio of fat and lean body mass. Say you keep your calories at maintenance level. If you increase your physical activity through strength training, HIIT cardio, and other resistance based training you will lose body fat because you are creating a caloric deficit. Since you do not have a…

OK, set your calories to maintenance. You mentioned you want to eat healthier. OK, eat more fresh fruit, veggies, lean proteins, nuts, fats... make sure to get enough protein, fat, and carbs. Don't deprive yourself of the food you like (try 80% whole foods and 20% of whatever else you like). Start incorporating strength…

^Exactly. You should eat at maintenance calories and begin heavy lifting. I guarantee that you will achieve the results that you want. You will also likely put on a few lbs of muscle, which would be great for your health.
-
Yea, it is unlikely that you will find anyone on MFP who will support you in this weight loss goal. Your aggressive responses are quite telling.

QFT I am 5'2" and the healthy weight range is 101.2 - 136.7 lbs. You mentioned you have unwanted fat deposits. What about focusing on body recomposition instead of just weight loss?

This thread is absolutely spectacular.

^ I am in ED-NOS remission and this is the best advise. An aspect of eating disorders that is often overlooked is control. Have you recently experienced an emotionally traumatic event in your life? Have you reached an impasse and does restricting caloric intake give you the feeling that you have control over that aspect of…

^Ah, ok that does make sense. When I started heavy lifting I gained 4 lbs of muscle over ~six months while eating at a deficit (newbie gains). I had body composition (DEXA) tests before and at 6 months that verified that amount. That said, the OP does look amazing and looks like she lost far more than 35 lbs. However it…

^Agreed!!!

But you are willing to receive help from internet strangers? I am sorry, as someone who is in remission for ED-NOS, I honestly do not understand your post. Eating disorders are mental health illnesses; one does not choose to be mentally ill. You are clearly aware of the unhealthy eating patterns and destructive thoughts…

"Jigged", as in "they jigged class" (skipped class). I am from Atlantic Canada (New Brunswick) and I have not heard that word used anywhere else.

I take a stimulant similar to Adipex-P (for other medical reasons) and it will not help you as much as you would like to think. Like the posters mentioned above, you need to work through the fatigue and get into a routine. That is going to ensure your long term success far more than taking a pill ever will.

I do believe it is a craving for iron, at least for me. I make sure to eat plenty dark, leafy greens and add an iron supplement. I also purchase the Lindt 85% chocolate, and have a piece here and there. Did you know that dark chocolate is high in iron? Some of you suggested that adding extra calcium and fats to your diet…

This. I had my gallbladder removed about 6 years ago, but when I started losing weight (again...) I did experience some pain in the same area. It was mild and only happened on ~6 occasions over the period of a month. I also used to be on Wellbutrin, and though it may cause modest appetite suppression it cannot be…

I used to have an FT4 for years and Polar-FT# is a great product. I switched to an FT60 because it calculates your resting heart rate (which is used to estimate your VO2 max) to give an accurate reading. For example, for a 32 minute run on the treadmill my stats were: MAX HR: 190 bpm AVG HR: 176 bpm Zone 1 Duration: 00 min…

^I would be very interested to know those results.

Correlation =/= Causation. But see a gynaecologist. When I was very overweight, I stopped having my periods.

I used to substitute that odd, incredibly low calorie margarine product for butter. I stopped, as the taste trade off was simply not worth it. I add Splenda to my coffee every morning, and drink those Skinny Starbucks lattes. If it allows me to stay in my calories/ macros, I really don't care.

A finished thesis...

I go early in the morning, for the reasons mentioned above. Additionally, I have found those who tend to frequent the gym early in the morning are there to exercise only and do not waste time chatting/ messing around with the machines/ weights.

I am looking to lose 65 lbs. Add me!
-
Really? When I dropped weight too quickly, I went down to a 32E/F and was distraught. When I was injured and regained weight I went up to a 36H. They look much better now, to be honest. I hope a slow loss will keep me at a 32G/H when all is said and done.
-
^This. I went through the same thing and making sure you have regular frequent meals is the best solution. Also, it will take a little while for your body to adjust; it will no longer feel ravenous all the time when it has been conditioned to expect food at regular intervals.
-
Agreed. Berries and apples are high in fibre.

My gym is a university gym located on campus. I go as early as possible (~6:30 am by the time I get there) and so only see a 2-3 dozen NY Resolution-ers. The only reason I tend to dread that time of year is that it creates more competition for treadmills and squat racks. It usually only lasts a month.
-
^Agreed. You have no idea what psychological cluster someone has to deal with to get to 'that place' where they can simply 'get over' whatever barrier(s) they encounter.

I am 5'2" and am looking to be about 120-125 lbs. I lost 120 lbs and was ~132 lbs in the summer of 2013, but after a stress fracture I regained weight over 14 months. I have lost ~19 lbs since September and am currently ~190 lbs.
