Started the morning with some tasty squats. God I look like an idiot going up stairs on leg day.

I'm digging the Surge, really like the ability to get my text messages and it's really comfy. The HR monitor has not been so accurate for me, hoping they'll get that fixed in a firmware upgrade down the road. Oh, and I'm https://www.fitbit.com/user/24HWYQ

I agree with you regarding the HR monitor. I really like the device for pretty much everything else - the text messaging feature in particular has been fantastic as I can slyly see if I need to return a call or ignore it when I'm with a patient without having to pull out my phone to see who's calling. It's comfortable and…

Just starting back to running after a long absence. This seems like a great way to get me going! I'm in for 30.

Got the One at launch. Was torn between the two but I'm really happy with it. As others have said, some kinks need to be worked out with the UI but you can see the potential with the new Kinect and the power of the UI to multitask. We are loving the Skype, it is almost cinematic and a completely different experience to be…

Tried too late to get into the beta, when does it go live? Have heard pretty amazing things about it and also love MTG so suspect it would scratch that itch for me.

Am back on after a long absence and friended you both!

The 5:30 time is tough for me. Maybe I'll try to tag along when you start the 6:30. I did join the TCRE group on meetup. Any of those runs you'd recommend for someone working on getting their legs back?

I work about 60 hours/week, maybe 80 when I have weekend call. I enjoy it though and knew what I was getting into. A lot better than when I was a resident, that's for sure!

By the way how is the Marathon Sports group? I know Jack (and his wife Jolene) pretty well, he's a great gut but I always assumed that crowd would be going a little fast for me.

I just started lacing my Asics up regularly again so my base has a ways to go. But pacewise I think that's about right for me at present. I think I could manage a couple loops of Calhoun or the Calhoun/Harriet loop. Would be cool to get a running group going! I use the term "running" very loosely here at present....

OK I'm an idiot. What's NSV?

Have not done Crossfit, sounds scary! Just wanted to say welcome to MN!

Julz 8.5 love the classic black and white.

I've tried doing after work but life too often gets in the way. So for me it's 4am. It is really fantastic, get up, get my cup o coffee and drive to the gym right on my way to work. I'm wide awake when I get there and have the place to myself. I find I'm much more alert during the day too. You have to get immediately out…

Got away for a while but back for good! Definitely room on my friends list for Minnesotans so seek free to hit me up.

This. I have both, prefer the treadmill but the elliptical is great when I want to give the joints a break. I can't go much more than 30 minutes due to the numb toe thing. But I much prefer running.

Ah gotcha, think you are OK then. We are looking at clinical outcomes, so using it with therapeutic intent. If your endpoints are physiologic and not clinical then you are probably OK. Here is the CBER guidance on probiotics. Unfortunately FDA as of Feb. 2012 considers probiotics a drug, at least in regards to clinical…

Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing. I do some oncology research, we are quite interested in probiotics therapeutically, opening a study in our pancreatic cancer patients. The FDA in their mighty wisdom has ruled we have to hold an IND for it which has been a bit of a setback (curious to know if you've run into this in…

Bumping for later, can't view at work!

This is true. And usually need to be losing electrolytes at the same time. But drinking truly massive quantities has no health benefit. More is not better at the extremes.

Oh and I did join the Bloomington North Lifetime, what a great facility compared to the Y!

Yes, you can develop hyponatremia. It has become one of the top causes of death in marathoners....typically undertrained and drinking lots at every drink station.

That communications officer is mighty fine, I'd call that a fair trade.

I don't have much to say about waitressing and exercise but just wanted to take this opportunity to say: Mmmmmm, IHOP!

You have beautiful eyes.....well I think you have eyes, haven't made it that far yet....

A banana and cup of coffee work for me. Emphasis on cup of coffee...
