  • Hi and welcome. Wow on the 7 miles a day! Did you walk 7 days a week and outside or use a treadmill? Sorry to hear about your back surgery but sounds like you've coped beautifully. One meal a day! I would be thinking about food all the time. Are you still trying to lose weight?
  • Yup all the above. It is calories. I too have a hard time reaching my protein macro but it doesn't make a difference as long as your in deficit you will lose. Take a look at this site http://www.acaloriecounter.com/diet/ probably the best no nonsense article explaining calories and although it's a long article it will give…
  • I started getting them on my 50th birthday and now at 57 still have them but they are less intense and less often. When I first started getting them I felt dizzy and slightly nauseous too but that subsided pretty quickly. Alcohol, spicy foods and especially stress bring mine on so if I'm at home rarely get them but at work…
  • I live in Scotland still part of the UK hurrah! I log in most everyday except when we lose the internet
  • Bump to digest later. Looks great!
  • Congrats on your upcoming wedding. You have plenty of time. Yes your right about the fruit, it has fiber is low GI so is very different from processed sugar. I'm reading a book called 'The Food Hourglass' which is about living longer and eating foods to help avoid disease, so in turn would be an eating plan that eliminates…
  • Thanks for the info jrmch my son lives in the US and has a card there so I may go for it. Interesting they shipped it to the UK knowing you couldn't access in the future. Do they offer a paypal option? That way they don't know what country the card is registered in.
  • Same here. I always count wine/vodka into my allowance but weight doesn't shift. When I gave it up for a month last year I lost 8lbs in one month. Again I always count it in so calories in calories out hmmm.

  • Welcome karleigh, Well done on losing the 100lbs that's quite an achievement! I'm 56 and have about 30lbs to lose too, but I'd be happy with 20. To respond to a quote, under what they wrote you'll see 'report post' 'quote' and 'reply' just hit quote and up comes what they wrote and you can add to it. Good luck with your…

  • Gained 2lbs and celebrated by eating lots more so a total of 5lbs. Usually with holiday gained I find that 2 or 3lbs comes off after I resume normal eating. Good luck to us all for shifting our holiday gains.
  • I just bought the dvd's after replacing my old dusty vhs tapes lol. I love doing Callanetics and find it keeps hunger away rather than cradio which makes me very hungry. Wonder if anyone else finds this? I do the am/pm one and record it as Pilates which gives me about 94 calories burned for 40 minutes but I guess a hrm…
  • Bah humbug to the doctor's office. I feel you pain re: your back. I sometime have back problems but not age related either lol. I guess your thyroid does make it more difficult, but your doing great 88lbs is quite an achievement indeed. As for going lower I personally would be so tired on less than 1200. I've just read a…

  • I'm no expert, but after years of experimenting with wine/ no wine- no wine wins hands down Even figuring in wine into my calories in/out it doesn't matter, for me wine = a gain no matter what even just a few glasses a week. I've given it up since July 7th and have lost 8lbs. For my body no wine is the only way.
  • My goals are: To try and keep off the weight I lost in July whilst on holiday in America. Start painting again Get my garden back under control Keep up with my exercise routine Can't believe how fast the summer has gone :(
  • What a great and interesting bunch of ladies we are! I'll be 56 in September. I'm American, but have lived in Scotland for the past 19 years with my Scottish husband and son. We live quite rural in a converted barn in the middle of a field with lots of wildlife around, although we're only an hour or so from Glasgow and…
  • Boot the chemist ( a drugstore chain) sells Atkins bars and shakes. Also the low carb megastore online shop has tons of products and delivers really quickly. Relax there are thousands of us low carbers in the UK.
  • Be patient, your doing great. I cut my sodium right back to get my weight loss moving and it works a treat for me. I also cut out wine and sugar and anything artificial. I feel great with this woe.
  • Encouragement coming at ya. You can do this!! We all can :) I piled on the pounds when my son left home and country! Very slowly but surely coming off.
