  • How was your A1C?. I'd say try revising your diet some more. I briefly looked at your diary and my suggestion would be to cut out more carbs and up your protein. I've found I only lose weight when I keep my carbs under 100grams a day and ideally 50-75. Eat more protein with breakfast and lunch. 3 cups of cheerios is way…
  • I'm 5'2, 247, mostly 18s a few 20s.
  • for mood yes I think it is - as an appetite supressant, I'm not sure.
  • Sort of. It's high intensity training which focuses on strength and conditioning. They also promote eating paleo - grass fed meats, organ meats, lots of veggies nuts minimal fruits - mainly berries, and avoiding dairy and grains. It seems like it is a fun work out to do.
  • Those sound great! I can't wait to hear the reviews!
  • This ^^^ review is about 1000 times better than the book.
  • Hey for the person that wears the bodymedia fit & doing medifast - how many calories a day does the bmf tell you burn? how much of a deficit is medifast from that?
  • salad greens, and chicken breasts? its lots of volume.
  • that sounds really good.
  • I dont really track my sodium intake, but I can definitely tell if I had too much salt. After a salty meal, the next morning I tend to have a hangover, whether or not i had alcohol.
  • http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes/bobby-deen/butternut-squash-with-quinoa-spinach-and-walnuts.html and this: (i used alot less dressing than the recipe called for and used one cup quinoa not two) 1 butternut squash, peeled, seeded, and chopped into 1/2-inch cubes Olive oil Salt and freshly ground black pepper, for…
  • I've been struggling with this this week - I made soup on Monday so I've been eating that. Other times I've eaten whatever others ate for dinner, just less of it. I also find it helpful to eat more during the day, and usually right before i leave work i.e. if I work till 8 i have a snack and 6/7 so I dont come home and…
  • I haven't taken any of those, occasionally I'll take Gloucosamine / Chondrotin (sorry for spelling errors :-) ) for a damaged knee. I've heard that is one of the few supplements that have shown to be helpful, but who knows. For the past 3 weeks or so I've been taking 5HTP (for PMS / mood / mild depression when I have no…
  • look up ina garten's meatloaf recipe - its delicious - When I made it I used half turkey half beef, but the recipe calls for beef. It was very good, moist etc.
  • its delicious delicious crack. I just bought a to-go cup of nutella last night. I'm trying to decide when to eat it. I haven't had it since last summer.
  • Forgot to add - I'm not sure what your situation is - but asking mom for some of her home cooked meals was always helpful when I was in school. I had one friend whose mom would send down homemade tomato sauce, another would make chicken for us, another would send down NY bagels, etc etc. Things like that - always helped…
  • oh so many to count ... usually involved pints of ice cream and / or cake. I thought I had it managed until recently... I took a trip to the entennman's outlet - why I don't know. It seemed like a good idea at the time. There was 1/2 box of donuts, there was a cake and a 1/2 box of double stuffed oreos consumed last week -…
  • - find creative places for meals - espcially at school - food was usually served at events and meetings to get the students there. in grad school, we were always having a cocktail party / reception for somethng in the lobby - yay free drinks! - learn to cook - be creative. - the seconds / "manager specials" espcially of…
  • 1. She's five. 2. Swimming is great - I always hated sweating when I was a kid. It was never fun. Loved swimming & Swim team. Did it all through grade school, HS & a year in college. was a life guard and swim teacher in hs & college too. See if there is a local indoor pool during the winter. 3. dance class? gymnastics?…
  • I started Sunday - the gym was packed and it was beautiful out. Today its freezing & I'm impressed with those running outside still! Did anyone find that their quads were extremely sore / tight afterwards? I get that I'm not in shape, but I could do 45 mins on the ellipitcal at a 10/12 and not end up feeling this sore. but…
  • I'd say start cooking more & packing lunches for both of you guys. It will seem overwhelming at first, but will probably save you guys money too! - Either pick one day a week to cook food for the week / to freeze. Over the course of a few weeks you'll have lots of options in your freezer. Just make sure you label things,…
  • - shop the perimeter of the grocery store / less packaging generally = better food choices. - as people were mentioning above, cook big meals, break them up into serving sizes and freeze / eat as left overs. Roast 2 chickens on sunday with some veggies, then use the chicken in lunches, salads, and use the chicken bones to…
  • generally something that has some protein & a little fat with the carbs in it as it will keep you full longer and start tracking today, not tomorrow! :) veggies & hummus apples & peanut butter pop corn - if you want chocolate drizzle some herseys on the popcorn grapes & cheese wheat thins and a laughing cow wedge string…
  • is it a hunger thing or a boredom / need something to do with my hands - mindless eating? If I dont eat enough during the day when I come home i'm hungry and will go through the kitchen looking for the most unhealthy & tasty snacks available usually in the form of cookies / cakes / candy, in other words crap. but when I…
  • wow - there is definitely alot on your plate. perhaps try meditation, if you could find some quiet time for yourself during hte day. I haven't tried it, but I have a friend who found it has helped him alot with his depression and does it every night. It may help you cope better with the stressors you have in your life. A…
  • everything... No cute clothes, not being attractive, no confidence, thinking people are constantly judging you.
  • going cold turkey would be too difficult for me. start cutting back on things. use brown rice instead white rice, whole wheat pasta instead of regular, try quinoa, if thats too difficult try using angel hair instead of penne. I found that much less noticeable at first. use sweet potato instead of white. For salads, find…
  • eat the chocolate - I've been going with cups of hot chocolate when I want that sugar / chocolate craving - doesn't always work but I generally feel like I'm eating a lot of chocolate and it cures my craving.
