Who says running must mean countless hours of jogging? Remember how much fun it was to race when you were a kid? Sometimes you just want to run FAST. You may need to go up a size. I wear an 8 shoe but need a 9 running shoe. Had the same problem until I got a bigger running shoe.

I run and lift and am voraciously hungry after a workout. I find that a protein shake stops me from devouring everything in sight.

Have you tried strength training? Maybe building some muscle will provide an an extra metabolism boost.
