If they are good for you.. Hm thats easy, NO!
Eat healthy and exercise.. seems to work for most people.0 -
I would stick to healthy eating and exercise, lower your calories to the goal set by MFP...and your appetite will decrease in time. Just be strong! Don't put stuff in your body that doesn't need to be there.0

Hmmm I'd rather eat sensibly and exercise.0

Food is a good appetite suppressor0

iiii so agree. its my save me go to0

I echo what others have said, also try tea! Especially Oolong tea. I really like it, and its either the tea or just the warmness that makes me feel full.0
-
I would advise against anything like that and just stick to healthy eating and exercise.
There are plenty of regular healthy foods out there though that are very filling so you don't feel as much need to overeat0 -

I find that water can be a good appetite suppressant.0 -
Try to eat your meal slower,( takes your stomach about 20 minutes to determine it is full) Eat a lot of fiber which keeps you FULL longer.0

a compression shirt and bike shorts.
i kid i kid. but seriously, i eat an apple or banana to fight off my hunger.0 -

coffee IS good - food is also good. You can just eat something very low cal - vegetables are super low, fruit is pretty low (Depending on the fruit and it needs to be whole, not juice).
Other good things are like - I have a scoop of protein powder in water in the morning some days (find one that tastes ok that way) and it is only 135-150 calories for 30 grams of protein which I sip over an hour or so. by the time its gone I'm full on water and protein and I won't be hungry again for a couple hours.0 -
celery! or watermelon!0

EXERCISE!!! The BEST appetite suppressor there is!0
-
Exercising, eating enough and not waiting till I'm DEAD before I have a small meal. An apple now and then and water to fight sudden cravings. A small piece of dark chocolate along with my cup of coffee and lots of veggies.
But if I REALLY want to even reduce that it's definitely
mate-tea.
Not as a powder you just stir into water, just the dried and "chopped" leaves.
No sugar, no nothing.
(Right now and for the past week) I have been drinking 3 - 4 cups a day.
It starts "working" after one or two days -- and it DOES do its thing for me!!!
Good luck!!!0 -
Coffee.
My mom swears coffee is an appetite suppressant for her.
For me, I try and eat some raw carrots before meals or going to a restaurant or something. I just try to eat enough snacks to not find myself ravenous and desperate for a meal.0 -
In my experience, they aren't good and can have some horrid side effects.
Heart palpitations, mood swings, dizzyness.
Better to exercise and eat healthily
I drink tea or water to help my cravings... or i indulge in small amounts!
All the best!0 -
I run and lift and am voraciously hungry after a workout. I find that a protein shake stops me from devouring everything in sight.0

Eat lots of Veggies and lean protein :-) Your prob getting more hungry because your not eating enough, the wrong foods and cause appetite to be stronger and doing tons of cardio will make it go up too.0

Coffee, water, Yogi Fasting tea.0

You might try konjac (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konjac). No calorie, ALL FIBER plant derivative that absorbs something like The most common way to buy it is in "miracle noodles" or other similar "shirataki noodle" products, or you can buy the "cake" kind in japanese groceries.
I put the cakes in a food processor and whirr it up until it's about rice sized, and then add about a tablespoon to oatmeal or a fruit smoothie at breakfast. VERRY filling because it's ALL fiber.
You can sometimes find the powder sold on line as a diabetic glucose stabilizer because the fiber in it helps balance out sugar peaks and valleys.
It's weird stuff, but definitely and appetite suppressant!0 -
Believe it or not. WATER!
I have gotten into the habit of chugging cold water during times of the day where I am known to snack. You have to pay attention to your food intake. what time of day are you craving something so NOT good for you? Are you truly hungry or are you just bored, tired, etc.
I am not against taking supplements if thats what you really need to help you get started (no judgement) but try the water and a peice of your favorite fruit first. I have found that it fills my stomach and Im good for awhile.
Now as far as not wanting that candy bar...thats a different story. If you want it, you will still want it after you have surpressed your appetite since most of us eat the not so good for us stuff even when we arent hungry.
So although I can not recommend a supressor, consider whether you really need one or are you just ignoring the signals that tell you that you are full. (which get lazy after so many years of being ignored) In order to make them start to work again, you have to eat slower to give your brain a chance to realize that you have had enough.
tip: Eat 1/2 of your food and wrap the rest up, and walk away. If you are still hungry 20 minutes later go back and eat some more. You have to be honest with yourself as the whether you really are hungry after the 20 minutes or do you just want more food because its was delish.
Count your calories, watch your sodium intake and find a plan that works for you. Goodluck!0 -
EXERCISE!!! The BEST appetite suppressor there is!
Exactly! I am not hungry after I work out. When you feel hungry get up and do something, straighten up the house, do laundry or go for a walk. It will take your mind off of food. Good luck0 -
If you eat smaller meals but more frequently your stomach will shrink a little so it will take less food to make you full. Also...water or tea are great, even coffee if you don't put a bunch of cream and sugar in it.
But honestly...if you're hungry, eat. Your body knows what it needs just don't overdo it! :flowerforyou:0 -

Food is great appetite suppresor
I don't mix stuff with water, just drink lots of it when I'm hungry. If I'm still hungry 10 minutes after drinking a liter of water...well then it's time for a meal.0
