You're incredible!!! Many congratulations.

I have an ordinary app on my itouch which is clock. Under clock you have an alarm, a stopwatch and a timer. Used to use it for my swimming with a waterproof case. Alarm plays through music as well. You probably have exactly the same on your iphone.

I wish I could lay claim to it, but I got it off another website! Glad you enjoyed it

Nice one gwynh! Why did the 'killer' get out and cut off the snake's rattle? Was he afraid it could do some damage to somebody? I'm much better now and thank you everybody for your kind wishes. I've certainly seen enough of the ER department here, but they're keeping a close eye on me because I had such a swollen face and…

Hello fellow cyclists. Checking in at only 59 miles this week. I mentioned earlier in the week that I had a collision with a bee; well guess what! The sting got infected and made the whole right side of my face swell up like a balloon. Not a good look and very painful. What with that and the coral infection two weeks ago,…

Hrrrmmmph. I got smacked in the head cycling yesterday by a great big fat black carpenter bee. I was doing about 16mph and the bee must have been doing a few mphs too so I reckon the combined speed was around 20mph. It whacked into my temple, which hurt and it stung me. The side of my face is now swollen so I'm feeling…

Looking good Dinos!

Wow Renny, that's some cycling! Good for you to try it. 100 miles a week is my aim too for the time being; it's a great workout and you'll be at your goal weight in no time hopefully. Good luck.

Logging in 102.7 miles for this week. Got non stop visitors from now so might be difficult to escape (much as I'll need to) to achieve the 100 miles next week, but will see how I go. I've hired bikes for some friends arriving next week, but don't think they'll be up to the nice long rides to a military beach I like to do…

I AM SERIOUSLY IMPRESSED! Well done Skywalker.

Wow! Everybody's doing so brilliantly well on this thread. Looks like it's a popular thread too. I'm so close to buying a new carbon road bike, a Specialized Roubaix comp, complete package including computer, pedals and kit for around $2100 from my local bike shop. It's one hell of a lot of money, but I'm SO into cycling…

On the subject of seats, I ride a hybrid bike, a Specialized Sirrus. I was advised that I would need to change the seat as the seat it came with is a man's seat. However, I find it extremely comfortable, although the most I do are 20 mile rides at the moment. I also don't need cycling shorts just yet; trying to avoid the…

Welcome BarbieCat1! Our little team is growing nicely. Get out on your bikes folks!!! And congrats tipusnr on your big achievement this week. Very impressive.
-
How far did you cycle tipusnr? Sounds like a fun ride, despite the confusions! I don't think I'm good enough to join a cycling club yet as I'm sure even the 'C' group (presumably that's the slowest category) would put me to shame! Anyway my fellow friends and cyclists, I'm back on the bike after my coral catastrophe! I'm…

And considerably cheaper! My husband was more easily convinced about the purchase of a bicycle than a horse funnily enough. Foot's still as fat as a fat thing this morning; very tedious all round.

Thanks for your replies Skywalker and LisaKC. Really appreciate it. That boat trip I mentioned in my previous post, which was wonderful, had a rather bad ending for me. I cut my foot on the coral and this morning I woke up with a swollen red foot, despite my best attempts at cleaning the wound when I got home. I've just…

Ok, so checking in for last week. I managed 93 miles, instead of my goal of 100. Excuses, excuses I know, but we've got visitors in town and instead of cycling to my aerobics class I had to drive (visitor wanted to come too). I then ran out of time to do the 15 miles on that Saturday so I took the day off from cycling. As…

I was going to ask who it was, but now I can see from the link it's Lance Armstrong. I was sort of hoping it might be Dino! Thanks for posting that!!

Blimey ladies! I never knew cycling could be so much fun. I've now googled Mark Cavendish (not being a follower of competitive cycling) and agree that he's a dish! Couldn't see any decent photos of his lycra shorts though. I'm still not convinced lyrca shorts are a particularly appetizing site, however I'm sure Dino looks…

Promises, promises! Not sure I want to see a photo in lycra shorts though. I don't think they do men any favours at all :noway:
-
Ha ha, you're right Dinos! We girls can do okay with the mileage!!!!

Okay, I'm checking in at 100 miles this week, not the 110 which was my goal. To be perfectly honest I'm finding it quite difficult to cycle every single day as some days I just feel so exhausted (especially after riding a horse for an hour quite intensively on Tuesdays and Fridays). I think I'm going to stick to doing 100…

Hi everybody Well done to you all, it's great to have these goals to aim for. However ... I didn't make my goal this week (I think it was 110 miles). I managed 96.7 instead. This was due to me taking a day off cycling completely and just walking because my broken leg was playing up a bit . It's very proficient and tells me…

Congrats jcarker for doing 50 miles! That's great going. I really can't see myself every doing 50 miles in one ride, unless of course I buy myself a Specialized Roubaix (that ain't going to happen for a while yet!)! Well I reached my goal of 100 miles, in fact I did 104 miles this week. Nearly killed me but hey, I did it.…

Wow Aliciakarver, that's some cycling. I'm up to 79 miles of my weekly goal of 100 with another two days to go. Yesterday was a real slog and I felt really tired, so today I'm going to do aquaerobics for an hour and do about 10 miles on the bike, then make it up to 100 tomorrow. It's great having goals to achieve; gives…

Last week 65.5 miles This week's goal 100 miles

Hi, I'd like to join too. I broke my leg in October last year when a horse I was riding fell trapping me underneath. Cycling is now my main form of exercise and I'm currently riding 12-17 miles a day, 7 days a week and I'm loving it. Trouble is I now want a better faster bike (got my eye on the Specialized Roubaix) but as…

Try proper cycling and going uphill standing on the pedals. Worked for me and my thighs were like huge lumps of jelly after 3 months of no weight bearing after breaking my leg. You have to give it a good two months though ..

I know it's really hard to cycle when you're tired, but it's twice as difficult to 'work out' when you're tired. So what will you do? Drive home and work out, or alternatively veg out OR buy some lights for your bike and have to cycle home because you have no choice as it's the only way you can get home. Then you've done…
