  • Recipes are always good! I love Pinterest I am on there as well so I will look for you Kat, thanks. Also any tips for staying motivated and keep moving. I always find hearing about others successes really helps to keep me going.
  • I always seem to start with a plan - get about 20-30lbs off and then it stops, and I lose focus and it all creeps back on again. So this time my plan is to not lose focus when I hit a plateau - I just have to keep going, and remember how much better I feel and how important it is to be healthy. I plan to pay close…
  • I over did it this weekend, so my goal for today is to drink lots of water and stay away from any foods that are not 'natural'
  • I was born in England, but my parents moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba when I was only 2. We lived there for about 5 years and then moved to New Brunswick and I have be here pretty much since.
  • Hi everyone, thanks so much for the invite!! My name is Janice, I am 47 and live in New Brunswick, Canada. I am married, I have 3 grown children (28, 24 & 20), 2 step daughters (27& 23), 2 wonderful grandsons and 3 cats. I love to cook, baking is my stress relief. I found out this year that I have a gluten intolerance, so…
  • I was diagnosed with ibs last year and then told in February it is a gluten intolerance. It can be hard to go gluten free, but so worth it, I feel so much better now and when I do have gluten I really know it. There are all kinds of gluten free products out there, but be careful as I have found they usually are much higher…
  • HI there!! I know this journey can be so frustrating! I have not had to deal with the same issues as you, but still am finding it very hard to get this extra weight off - which some days can be beyond frustrating. I am 47, am perimenopausal, have hypothyroidism and a gluten intolerance. I have lost and gained weight so…
  • I am also perimenopausal and find I suffer from nauseau and dizziness. I thought it had to be something else as I had never heard of that as a symptom before, so the last time I saw my dr. I mentioned it and he said it is all a part of it. I have never really thought about when in my cycle it is as my cycle is out of wack…
  • I found out about 8 months ago I have a gluten intolerance. It has been hard adjusting, but I am getting much better at it and being able to say no to the foods that make me suffer. I also getting the bloating, tummy issues, head fog as well as migraines, fatigue and even muscle aches. I feel so much better when I stick to…
  • Thank you all for the suggestions! I just want to let you know that my GF thanksgiving meal was a success!! I made everything from scratch and everyone really enjoyed the meal. My husband even said that was the best gravy he has had :) I waited until everyone was done and then told them it was a GF meal, they were all…
  • Are you going gluten free because you think you may have an intolerance or just that you feel it is something you want to try? I am gluten intolerant and had no choice but to cut it out. Some days it can be very hard, especially when getting together with friends for dinner that do not need to follow the same 'diet'. I…
  • Hi Judy :flowerforyou: You have dealt with a lot and sound like a very strong woman, so I have no doubt you will be successful on this journey as well. I try everyday to remember that life is short and you never know what is around the corner waiting for you, so l do my best to live the best life I can. I will admit…
  • My goals for today is to get back to tracking everything, and get at least a 45 minute walk/jog, even if the weather remains windy and rainy, I have a treadmill so no excuses.
  • Our thanksgiving is next week, so not a lot of time to do much more testing. I have been practicing with some recipes and am pleased with the results. Most family lives close by, we just can't always get together at the same time. I am fine making a regular pie, I do also have a GF dessert planned.
  • I knew I had seen it before ..... still have to try them though
  • I have the fitbit and really like it. I have hinted I would like the new fitbit one for Christmas as it would really be nice to keep everything up to date through my phone. For me it is a great motivation to move more. I will check it regularly thoughout the day and see how I am doing, I make my walks last longer to get in…
  • Hi Donna and welcome!! You are very blessed to have your family willing to go GF with you. My husband and family are very good as well. They have not gone GF with me, but when I cook meals or baked goods they are more than happy to eat what I make. Since they still have regular bread and other non GF friendly foods in the…
  • This sounds interesting and being gluten-free means I can eat it too  I think I will have to make it when hubby isn't around, if he sees chickpeas going in it I am not sure he will try it.
  • Ugh - it's only Tuesday and I better move before I fall back to sleep!!
  • Hi, I am also 47 and seem to keep falling off the wagon and having to restart my journey. I need to lose this weight for my health, and also to just feel and look better. I have lost weight in the past but it always comes back, and this time it doesn't seem to want to go. I have a few challenges with it this time, I have…

  • We also currently have 3 Nikki is an 8 year old maine coon - she is the most gently and clutzy cat ever  Baby and Butters are sisters and they are 5 year old calicos. • Hi morgynsmama. I am pretty new to this GF lifestyle as well, and still have much to learn. Since I started I find I feel much better, but still have a long way to go. I also have hypothyroidism, which my Dr. tells me can make it even more of an "uphill climb" to lose weight, but I am not giving up that easy. Feel free to…
