@BroDave, i will start training for my 2nd Marathon in march the race being in July. have you run distance before ? i love the freedom running gives me. do you have a training program or do you just get out and run? sorry for all the questions l am interested in how others train.

@mcctin Dont wait around for someone else to do it with you! Grab the bull by the Horns and go for it! I am sure once you get to the event there will be plenty of people in the same position. Give it a go it's going to be so much fun!

setting goals to achieve throughout the year are what keep me motivated. though sometimes i do find the road a long and lonely journey, but i guess these are just speed humps to keep us pushing forward and stronger in the long run.

i think we all have similar breakfast options. I love Uncle Toby's protein plus with soy or 30g of oats topped with 1/2 stewed apple and a tablespoon of low fat greek yoghurt which i let sit until the oats have soaked up all the water from the apple then eat. YUM

Thats awesome! i am going to attempt my 2nd marathon in July this year, i hurt my calf in the last km of my first and so this year train a little smarter taking my long run to about 35km to 38km about 4weeks out from race day. and i also have the goal to go under 4hrs! i love the way finishing wither the 21km or the 42km…

have you tried health food stores? they sometimes have peanut butter that has no additives just peanuts, i use the woolworths home brang light about 160cal for 30g, which is still high but i love my peanut butter!!!!

i completed a beautiful 10k on bush tracks yesterday morning, even copped a bit of rain, but the smells of the bush are totally amazing, i love running outside. will be running again this afternoon will either do 7 or 12 km, not sure yet depending on the weather as if it does turn nasty i will head indoors to do a…

My first half marathon i put on 6kg, i relised that i was eating the wrong foods, muesli bars, too much dried fruit and nuts etc, i lost the 6kg plus another 7kg when i cut out all the so called healthy stuff.
