Hear! Hear! I definitely miss real cheese (a great swiss) and ice cream (preferable green tea from my fav Japanese restaurant or Farr's peppermint). I don't miss the gas/bloating/tummy troubles/etc. and I agree with you both...I do not miss milk either. I am neurotic and think about it too much, and milk becomes weird and…

Tomorrow is my interval run! Just a little 3-4 miler, nothing too crazy. I will hit it after work, though (not so into early rising lately). I will track it on MFP...

My name is Danielle and my superpower is understanding and relaying stories on evolutionary biology and scientific names. I am also darn good with trees and ecology.

I have been intrigued by minimalist and barefoot running stories. I have read the book and I have friends that attribute their injury free training to minimalist shoes. I tend to strike mid-foot. I am in a neutral running shoe now (Saucony Pro Grid Ride) and I would like to transition into a minimlaist shoe. I am 5'6" and…

Love this! I am a geek, too. Entomologist by training, but a naturalist at heart. I guess I am less a techy geek and more a nature geek...if that makes sense. Zombie movies make me laugh :glasses: snort. I love Star Wars...and I am proud of my freezer full of insects. I am joining your geek group now.

I tried the Arrowhead mix this weekend. And if you don't mind waiting to proof dough and let it rise for 45 minutes, then give it a try. The texture was thicker than I would have like; next time, I will use less dough per pizza. But, it made a nice brown crust that worked well with a veggie pizza and Follow Your Heart…

Has anyone tried Arrowhead Mills brand GF pizza crust mix?

Have you tried the purely decadent cookie dough ice cream? GF and DF and no cashews either...super yummy. You have been warned

Wraps (for meals) are a good option for driving and eating at the same time. I also like spring rolls for travel (but have learned to put the "suace"/dressing inside the roll as opposed to trying to dunk while in transit. I am a huge fan of Lara bars and dried mango for a pick me up. Don't forget to drink plenty of water,…

Yep...it is that time of the year. I have major spring fever!

I am on the same goal as you, with a commesurate amount of weight to lose (not a lot). I started out not eating back my calorie deficit, but was not able to maintain enough energy to follow through on my workouts. I, now, eat most of my exercise calories back. I do have some days when I am over or under. It seems to be…

You can still do sandwiches with g-f bread (i.e. Canyon Bakehouse makes a great sandwich multi-grain bread). Yea, I have accepted that I will forever be that girl, at the restaurant/party/social situation, that asks a lot of questions and has special requirements or just brings her own treats to share. Some people are very…

Female stuff (PMS), salt????...I usually gain 3-5 lbs during that time of the months and my stomach expands.

I agree with mman. Try to incorporate some strength training and stretch those hip flexors. Be careful. No runner likes to be injured!

@ TeaBee...Republic of Tea makes an amazing Cocoa Coconut tea...so decadent and 0 calories! Yum! And I love the Mayan tea you mentioned, it is one of my favs!
-
Yes. You can do it. Check out some of the training guides at Runners World, increase distance slowly. You will be just fine! Mind over matter, lady  Try to incorporate one long run a week.

No Valentine, but I made it a point to send valentine's to friends and family this year. It felt nice to say I love you to my special people. My tradition (because normally I am single for this day): eat some really good chocolate, make myself a nice dinner and watch a comedy or see some live theatre. This year I will be…

sweet: one square of good dark chocolate (Vosges), hot chocolate made with water, 4 hershey kisses; salty: I go with blue diamond roasted sea salt almonds and I do 12 almonds (half the normal serving), sometimes I go for homemade popcorn with olive oil, nutritional yeast and greek seasoning

Thanks, Ray! Here is fav vegan/g-f/d-f chocolate of mine Vosges Red Fire bar And...here is a vegan/raw/g-f/d-f cashew cream suace that is amazing over tempeh, greens, and rice noodles. I swear it almost tastes like an alfredo sauce. YUM! Cashew Cream Sauce In a blender: 1 cup raw cashews 3/4 - 1 cup water (depending on the…

My suggestion is to find some good cookbooks and literature on vegetarianism. I became a vegetarian at 14 years old, and I did not do my homework. So, I inevitably spent years eating a junk food diet (much like what you are talking about...although I would say I carb-loaded in place of losing meat and then ended up with a…
