An easier way to measure (so you don't have to cut it up or dirty a measuring cup) is to use the rule of thumb that 4 ounces of cooked meat is about the size of the palm of your hand or a deck of cards. With meat, you're never going to get an exact weight, anyway. When you ask for a pound of meat in a deli, you rarely get…

I don't think you can completely forego the butter and sugar without foregoing the taste, so here's my mom's recipe: 1 Egg, 2/3 Cups oleo (margarine), 1/2 Cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1 3/4 Cup flour, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Cream butter & sugar, add egg, mix well. Add vanilla, stir, add flour & baking powder & mix…

I wasn't sure how much I could do since I haven't done push ups since high school, but I began this past Sunday doing sets of 10 pushups throughout the day to total 50 (so I fit 5 sets in at some point during the day) and 2 sets of 25 situps. I'm sore and I don't know how much it's really going to help, but it makes me…

I think Chipotle has a barbacoa burrito. I'd just use that. Haha! When I saw your topic, I thought you were talking about the impending "rapture" that some believe is happening tomorrow and wondering if you weighed too much to go to heaven :P

The REAL question is whether or not she is still able to lose weight that way and at what rate. The reason for "cheat" days is so that your "diet" is more sustainable and therefore a lifestyle change. I think it's a "to each his own" thing as far as this goes. My boyfriend and I are both trying to lose 30 pounds and we've…

Someone needs to invent something to aid with this. I feel like a reverse bra that pulls your shoulders back would be good...maybe there's something like that out there already and I just don't know? I need help here, too :-/

Even though you have a Steelers logo on your ticker, I guess I will give you my positive two cents about oatmeal :P I've also been an avid hater of oatmeal, but I kept reading on here about steel cut oats, so I bought some this past weekend to try. The texture is different than what we're used to...more of a whole-grain…

But those are all of my favorites...

How big a can of pumpkin puree? Just a regular box of cake mix? This sounds good...

Are you doing something different with your laundry and possibly shrinking the clothes? Try to stay away from sodium as it may also be water rentention replacing fat you may have lost (if you've been sticking right with the diet...)

Go to any bookstore and you can find these books called "Eat This, Not That" that are FULL of these kinds of suggestions. I don't know how many different varieties of this book are out now, but you can probably also take a look on Amazon.com to get a good idea of which one(s) you'd want to buy.

Yes! :grumble: and so far mine hasn't gone away, but I've been trying to drink lots of water because I've heard that's supposed to help with skin elasticity.

Our numbers and stories are almost perfectly matched. I'm with you!!

If you're trying to lose weight, you should not eat your BMR. That means Basil Metabolic Rate and that's the amount of calories you need to sustain your current weight. You could lose less quickly by upping your calories to somewhere between your BMR and the 1800 if that doesn't seem to be enough, but don't eat your BMR…

I think it's true. I find when I work out, I allow myself more calories and end up going over 9 times out of 10 thinking I've earned them before logging them. Also, think about how many calories you could potentially consume in a small amount of time as compared to how many you can burn in the same amount of time. Some…

Are you pregnant?

I don't really get it. Do you take a break between each set? How long of a break?

I don't like veggies much, either, but if you buy the prepackaged, frozen stir fry at the store...those aren't too difficult to get down.

That already small area is the first place I lose...every time :( WHY?!

Walmart sells this little thing for $3 that i've learned to love that cooks an egg in the microwave in one minute. I put a little cheese in with mine and after it's cooked, I put the egg/cheese thing on a Bagel Thin or one of those Better Start Thomas's english muffins and it's perfect for me! (I also do this at…

A lady I used to babysit for had, what I thought, was a really good approach to handling her kids' eating. They couldn't have anything without asking, but when they did ask, instead of immediately saying "no" she asked them if they were REALLY feeling hungry. (It had to do with a common sense "diet" plan that she was in…

You should also try exercises to strengthen and tone your upper body...specifically your back muscles that help your posture. I'm terrible at practicing what I preach about this, but try to be aware of your posture and work on it throughout the day. Eventually, you'll be practicing better posture without even thinking…

I don't know, but apparently not the sidewalk because that's where I was :)

I loved mine for the 2 weeks I had them...before I had worn holes in them in that short time. I was using them to take my dog for walks and went on a lot of pavement (which they didn't warn against) so I guess that wasn't good for them...I returned them for a pair of Keens. They were super comfortable and if you're not as…
