Ummm....wasnt that what I was doing also?

Yes I know someone it worked really well for. The CSIRO is a government scientific agency so its credible.

I am not sure where this whole "unhealthy end of the BMI" has come from. The BMI's varying scale is to take body frame and muscle mass into account. (and just in case I have to say this, yes obviously if you're an athlete or body builder, then its not that appropriate.) Telling people (especially when you cant actually see…

If you think you food is your weakness when you have to eat less of it, wait til you see how you feel on a no carb diet. It makes you feel like you are literally going insane, and you feel frantic for carbohydrates, and LOTS of them. You feel dizzy and weak and like you may pass out. Forget about reading, writing,…

The test takes about half an hour, you lay down and breathe into a mask/tube thing. It reads oxygen/dioxide levels. The reason it takes so long is to make sure that you are in "rest", rather than slightly anxious etc etc. I live in Australia, so I only know where you can do it here. I believe the cost was AU$150.

i used to love pizza once in a while, and now even the thought of it makes me ill!

I would HIGHLY recommend an RMR test. This tests your Resting Metabolic Rate. (contrary to popular word usage, you cannot have your BMR tested unless your actually in a coma, and all calorie decisions should be made on your RMR). Anyway.... I always thought that my metabolism was low, (i was mean to it when I was younger)…

Oh you poor thing!! Firstly...you have to let the ex-boyfriend thing go. It is NOT your problem, and you cannot let yourself get involved with HIS problem. I'm sorry if thats seems harsh, and I am not saying its easy, but you are not going to do yourself any favours trying to help or worrying about it, trust me.…

thats fat versus fibre...

I thought this about my own metabolism, and then I had a chance to have a free metabolism check (they usually cost AU$150.) It was done properly by an exercise physiologist, and I was very surprised to know that my RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) was slightly higher than normal. I would really recommend getting it done if…

Please - take time to hug each other! You dont always need words - when its tough hold each other and think about appreciating how hard you have worked to get through the tough times.

I started WW three and a half weeks ago and I think its great. I have lost a kilo a week so far. I found all the info on the net, so I havent had to pay for anything. A couple of my friends find it easier when they go to meetings though. I would say absolutely go for it, I wish I had done it earlier.

It doesnt say there isnt any sodium in it, it says (if you look a bit further down) that "a dash indicates that the information is unavailable."

quote didnt work first time

Umm..you cant have a sugar withdrawal when you weren't consuming sugar... (theres no sugar in diet coke..)

Further to that - dont forget that carbohydrates are essential to brain and liver function. Some diets recommend 30g of carbohydrates per day, which is NOT enough for even basic brain function. And when you reintroduce carbs back into your diet, you put all the weight back on. Because different bodies need different…

I have to say that I disagree with you Banks and backontrac, I counted calories on here since October last year with very little progress. I started WW 3 weeks ago and have started losing at a steady rate. I dont know why that is, but it is, so i guess different things work for different people. I didnt pay for WW, you can…

The fat burning state is called ketosis, and it is what Atkins is based on. You are more likely to be tired due to lack of carbohydrates rather than lack of caffeine. Despite popular belief, for most people (especially those who drink it regularly) caffeine is very little help in keeping them awake.

I live in Perth Australia and our milk is $3.59 for 2 litres (thats just over half a gallon). Cheese is $10 a kilo!! Crazy!!!

Multigrain is much better than any of the others.

If I were you I would take it easy with the food til your stomach says ok. You feel repulsed for a reason. You're not going to harm your weight loss by not getting enough calories the day after a stomach bug. You should be more concentrating on fluid intake rather than food. Hope you feel better soon Take care

Clean and Clear "Morning Burst" facewash and Loreal "Happy Derm" moisturiser.

I've just started weight watchers cos i hadnt budged for 3 months counting calories. I find the points really easy and i found all the info online, so i havent had to pay for the privilige either - and I've started losing weight again!

I have the same thing when I eat something too, although the lower the food is in fat the less it seems to happen (not saying theres a link, its just an observation. As for the relaxing thing, maybe youre "relaxing" too much and actually slouching a bit so it looks a big bigger?? Just a thought...

PLEASE.... when you are reading studies, think about what is going on! Does it seem a bit of a coincidence to anyone that the rate they discovered is the same percentage of overweight or obese people anyway!!!! Also....this is only the media report from the study, it gives NO p values, no mention of what type of…

But its definitely not Australian - we dont have any of those label products here!!

Half of my family still live in Bournville - thats where my Dad is from and I went to Bournville School when I was 6-8 years old!!! My mum used to work at Cadbury's - and my Auntie still does!!!

Me too, I'm one of them! I'm 5ft 2in and I have only lost 3 kilos since Oct last year. I have tried eating more, exercising more, exercising less, shaking up my routine, eating less, calorie cycling - you name it, I'm trying it and I havent budged the scales since 22nd December. I have gone back to 61 a couple of times…

I not only read the article, but I went and found the original study. What a load of ***** (insert whichever word comes to mind first). When you read studies (not what the media puts out about studies, but actual studies, there are SO many factors you have to address, most of which unless you have SOME kind of statistical…

I completely agree with that one! You can do them for your sides also. HARD work!
