  • Yup! As someone who has been skinny AND fat, I can honestly say that being fat I am not healthy. I do all the things I did when I was skinny but I can FEEL how this extra weight is HURTING my body. It amazes me sometimes how much weaker I am at this weight. I'm all about not shaming, not being cruel but I'm not okay with…
  • YAY! Good for you! And just think, when you do lose the weight this video will just be another 'before' shot. :D That you can use to inspire people!
  • There are a lot of posts here... I couldn't possibly reply to them all so... To EVERYONE: You looked great before, and you look fantastic after. Congratulations on your success. <3 You've inspired me to work even harder.
  • My daily burn is 2800 cals! When I do NOTHING. I think how much you burn daily is dependent on your current weight and activity level, not JUST activity level.
  • I'm not celiac but I am allergic to wheat. I decided it was just easier to cut gluten out entirely (how do you separate the wheat gluten from the other sources gluten anyway???). When I tell people I'm gluten-free they always presume I'm celiac. When I explain I'm allergic they just seem confused. I think it's ridiculous…
  • 1st: Congratulations! Good work. 2nd: Cutting your hair was a wise choice. You look fab. :) I can see the happiness in your eyes in the later pictures. Good for you!
  • Thanks guys. :) Going to try and put my blinders on and keep my gaze focused forward. Also going to try logging in here more often. I think having a 'safe place', whether online or not, will help keep me accountable.
  • After reading several pages of this thread I'm not sure how I feel. Am I supposed to be upset when men hit on me? Because unless they're being obnoxious I just think it's cute. I feel like I should lose my woman card for not being bothered by flirtation.
  • Yup. I'm a fat girl, but I get hit on quite a bit. I smile, I engage people and in return they respond with flirtation. it's fine, I know they're not serious but it is fun. :) Really the key to being hit on is just to be open TO being hit on. We speak a lot with our body language.
  • Do we just join here? I'm willing to join! BUT I can't really count today since I have had a junk filled day to begin with! HAHA! But I can start from this MOMENT.
  • It's not exercise persay but it does change how many calories you burn. Someone who just sits at a desk all day won't burn as much naturally as someone who is constantly moving. The trick is to figure out how much you burn during those moving times.
  • Ever heard of a series called Hero's Quest? Space Quest? King's Quest? These games were my first and the ones that got me hooked on electronic gaming. :)
  • How I missed MFP. You guys are always the perfect mix of no-nonsense and supportive. <3
  • Got it! Thanks guys. :D My how MFP has changed since I was last here! I didn't even see that handy APP button on the top there.
  • So I have to figure out how to link them... *kitten*. I am such a techno peasant. I do not look forward to this.
  • Oh my gosh! What a great idea! I LOVE LISTS! And goals... that I can check off as I reach them. I think I'll do that tonight. Thank you. :)
  • Are you weight training? I've heard weight training helps to keep the skin tight BUT I've also heard that a slow loss keeps the skin from getting too saggy. I have no idea if any of those are true though. On an aside, congrats on your loss!!!!
  • *raises hand* I USED to be a success story until life kicked my *kitten*. Following because I hope to be a success story again and also I'm interested to hear from others who have been overweight since childhood.
  • Thank you. :) Crying is my best friend now but I'm honestly sick of it. So ready to pick myself back up but then I try too much and get all frustrated because I can't do what I feel I should be able to do. It's good to be reminded that I need to stop looking back though. I constantly look back... it's my biggest stress.
  • Food is my habit. I eat too much because I enjoy eating. Simple as that. It should be just as simple to NOT eat, since it's not hunger that drives the food into my mouth but good grief it's hard to stop. Old habits are hard to break.
  • I flipped out when I saw this! AW YEA BABY!
  • This needs repeating: "It's obvious to me too, but people need and like different things. " Thanks for that. :) Best thing said on this entire thread.
  • There is a skill set required to do this work properly (it's called people skills). Customer service is NOT easy and not everyone can do it (as is evidenced by all the customer service complaints you see out there). You have to have thick, thick skin to do this job. You get yelled at for smiling, for not smiling, for…
  • Right? I work in retail. Last week I had no less than three people ask me: When are you going to get a real job? Seriously? I make more money than they do (know this for a fact), I just choose to do a job that I enjoy (and yes, I'm uneducated). Whatever. Go ahead and judge, you judgey mcjudgersons. I don't even care. Your…
  • And what if they don't have $330 shoes OR a $600 smart phone and STILL live paycheque to paycheque? Who's going to pay for them to get a 'REAL' job?
  • Absolutely. You start at the bottom and work your way up. That's how my uncle made all his money and how my coworkers are doing so well after 25 years in the job. It can be a career if you treat it properly and work your way up. I just hate the attitude that 'retail' is somehow a 'lesser' job and people should be working…
  • As a side note true Tupperware isn't this cheap. >.< Just... sayin'.
  • Ummm... y'all are angry because fast food workers would like to be paid a fair wage? My uncle worked in Wal-mart his entire life. He retired a millionaire because he used his money wisely, invested it and made something from that 'minimum wage' job. I work in retail and many of my coworkers have held their job for 25 years…
  • I like the program just for the workouts. And I paid for the workouts. The fact that it comes with some new handy dandy food containers is an added bonus. I LOVE beachbody workout programs. P90X, P90X2... they were both excellent programs and I loved them but they take too long. So I recently invested a hell of a lot of…
  • A friend of a friend said something stupid, what do I do!? Go to the gym and get all dem hot guys. That's what.
