I didn't gain weight but I stalled for 2 weeks before starting to lose again. From what I've read, it's mostly water retention from muscle repair so you shouldn't worry too much.

Exercise excessively is never healthy. (and neither is fasting to make up for a binge). If you eat healthy 80% of the time, you don't need to "make up" for binges. Your body will naturally find a balance. I think that's what everybody should aim for in order to build a healthy relationship with food.

I don't see anything wrong with someone backing up their arguments with their religion. Religious values are as valid as any others, even if I personnally don't share them.

Of course, you feel like eating more when exercising. It's like using your car for a long trip... Your car will need more fuel. So does your body when you work out.

Also, I think they're probably playing on the "less than xx cals is considered 0 cals" rule. Which means 1 serving still has a few calories and if you add servings up, who knows how many cals you finally end up eating?
