  • You probably did not gain 2.2 lbs. Its just water retention from the carbs probably and when you eat carbs, especially if you are not eating alot of them now, your body holds water with all the carbs. Or. ... TMI, but bladder/bowel emptying... might still be sitting in there and you have the extra weight on the scale. Give…
  • No doctor here, but my thoughts are... The protein drop more than the carb going up. If you dont use the protein, your body turns it into sugar and stores it as fat! I am also pear shaped (and I dont think this has anything to do with it either) but I could not lose on low carb either, too much protein... but when I upped…
  • You are amazing Jo!! You have done so much already! YOu will get there, as we only fail when we quit trying... right??? me and you both!!
  • Gorgeous Jo! You have accomplished so much, you should be very proud of yourself!
  • I dont think its muscle building ....women are lucky to put on 2 lbs a YEAR of muscle... but I do think you need to give it more time. You could be retaining water in the muscles to repair from the "new" workouts. If you lost fine the first week, wait at least a couple more weeks doing the same things to see what results…
  • And eating enough. Eating your 700 or 800 calories a day will not fuel your muscles properly for your exercise!! You need to eat more!!
  • Sore muscles mean change though. When you do something different that your body is not used to, the muscles have to break down to accomplish this and rebuild so next time they can do it better . If you push through the sore muscles, then maybe after doing it a few times it will not hurt as much. Or, is the pain more like…
  • I was up about 2 lbs too!! Boo!! I am hitting the exercise hard though and ready to get moving downward instead of up!
  • I do tons of cardio now.. I need to amp up the weight lifting! LOL
  • I am in... running this morning... I usually run at least 4 miles sometimes 6!
  • height 5'6" CW 183.4 GW 140
  • Hi everyone, I am Cathy and I live in Colorado. I am 42 years old. I was overweight (chunky) as a kid/teenager. I gained some weight with each kid, ( 3 of them, now 23, 21 and 16) and then I quit smoking in 2007 and put on 50 lbs. I got to my high of 240 lbs then. I dropped 90 lbs starting ing 2008 to about mid 2010. Then…
  • I did the kickstart today too... I think (after a very long time of insanity and turbo kick) that its a bit low key for me... so I did insanity pylometric circuit after the 30 minutes, but I am hopeful that the 60 minute one is more up my alley! I have taken a few body combat classes too at the gym, and they are 60 minutes…
  • Hi! My name is Cathy R. I live in Northern Colorado. My goals for the 60 day challenge will be to get back on track with healthy eating for more than 2 days in a row... I need to lose weight as well, about 30 lbs. I gained back that 30 in the last year or so... and not happy about it! While my eating is horrible, I still…
  • Mine should be here today if the tracking is right! I cant wait to start either!!
  • I agree with this. I have the bodymedia too.. To add... the dashboard for the bodymedia is alot better than fitbit.... and its not "lost" as easily. I hear lots and lots of people lose their fitbit or it falls in the toilet or any number of other things. Leave it in their pockets and wash it... I also read you add to…
  • I went from a size 22 to a size 6-8 (depending on the clothes)
  • My opinion, dont wait to start. Muscle burns fat, so the more muscle you build (and I dont mean bulking up like guys at all, you can lift heavy without bulking up, women dont have the testosterone for that) the more fat you can burn. Your body will rev up the metabolism by having more muscle to burn. Eat lean, lift heavy…
  • If you still lose weight, I am sure its fine, but ... they say you should eat your largest meal of the day in the morning and get lighter as the day goes on... eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.... :)
  • Great job, you should be proud. I remember my first 5K still too! ready for more now!! Woot woot!
  • Women really only gain maybe 2 lbs a year in muscle (most of them anyway) if you are lucky. Its water weight and will reduce when your muscles adjust to the new activity. People like to think its muscle, but it takes a long time to build muscle and even then, you dont build nearly as much as you would like. Keep it up...…
  • Love your sense of humor! Looking forward to watching you "shrink".... Good luck!
  • I think you will find lots who can relate to you, but not too many with any answers! I also have this problem. I will exercise twice a day, stay on track, eat well, feel good... and then I will get a craving, or my hubby will eat something good, and I feel sorry for myself and give in. I will go up 5-10 lbs in 2 days and…
  • I think its great. I agree about watching your form, but otherwise, enjoy!~ I love Chalean Extreme from beachbody too!
  • OMG, I love Insanity. I have not tried P90x, but I bet its good too. I also love Turbo Fire by Chalene Johnson! There are like 10 DVDs in the set for Insanity and a schedule to follow for 60 days (actually its 67 days but whose counting?) and so it mixes it up for you. It is incredible for strengthening the core and…
  • Also since you are new to it, you might need to try less a week and work up to it until your body is more "used" to it. Also, I take glucosamine which is for the joints, (hips and knees, etc) and will help with that! Ice if its really sore, definitely check on the shoes... we have running roost here and good feet... some…
  • People who weigh everyday maintain their weight better than those that dont. I am a daily weigher too, but having said that... you have to take in consideration the fluctuations that will occur. Every day will go up and down and you should "measure" by the week, but its good to keep checking every day to know your own…
  • Yes the Polar FT4 you can change the batteries on yourself. I also just purchased this, actually the FT40 (but that just gives online help or something, training planner) but it basically the FT4... so far so good, happy with it and can use in gym with no interference.
  • I would love to lose 25 by Christmas too!! That would be almost to my goal. My start weight is 177 this morning. I am very active, so get tons of exercise. My challenge is what I put in my mouth!!
