if i can work it into my daily calorie allowance, i go for it. otherwise, if i'm still having trouble resisting, i usually go back and look at pictures and the progress that i have made so far, and it gets me back on track.

it's unexpected things like that that often mean more to me than numbers on the scale. even the mirror can trick me... even at 40 lbs down, sometimes i look in the mirror and don't see anything different. but when i see how things (from clothes to jewelry etc), progress can not be denied! awesome nsv. :)

i've lost my first 40 lbs almost entirely from just changing my eating habits. i do try to get a walk in when i can, and i'm planning on starting to get some more physical activity in going forward. i feel a lot better with that weight gone, (gaining more self confidence, energy levels improving, my frequent heartburn that…

ahah. i love this so much.

my highest recorded weight is 225, but i'm positive that i was pushing 240 at my heaviest... i wasn't going to go near a scale.. lol. currently at 181, which is my -lowest- adult weight. :)
-
most people that have mentioned my weight loss don't ask for a specific number... but most -do- ask how. when i say calorie counting, many of them see wildly disappointed that i haven't discovered the miracle weight loss pill everyone is waiting around for.

started at 223 lbs, and wearing pants that ranged from 18-22 and tops were 1X or 2X. now i am at 185ish, wearing size 14s (squeeeeeezed into a 12 the other day, lol), and L or XL tops. Yay for being back in the misses section!
-
not sure exactly how much i weighed in the first picture... cause i wouldn't have dared getting on a scale... i'm guessing around 230. one on the right is current, weighing in at about 190. :)

i started at 223 lbs, i'm 5'5... started at 1200 calories... no exercise. i was losing pretty quickly, and many of the days, i didn't feel deprived, but some days i did. like i said, i don't exercise, but i am a manager at a large retail store and spend a lot of the day making laps around the store, and moving fixtures,…

i started at 223 lbs. a few people noticed when i got around 200... then after i lost about 10 more, everyone seemed to notice. i think a lot of it had to do with buying a few new pieces of clothing that actually fit... because most of my clothes already didnt fit properly BEFORE i lost the weight ( i wore clothes a little…

first couple things i definitely noticed was my face was waaay less puffy, and my frequent heartburn became practically nonexistent. (still get it now and again, but i'll be totally honest and attribute that to the coffee and cigarettes. one step at a time....)

i often eat dinner later in the evening, and almost always have a snack right before i go to bed. it's budgeted into my daily calorie goal, and it hasn't caused any problems for me.

request the highest of fives? :p
-
definitely!! i actually get way more excited about how my clothes fit than numbers on the scale at this point.
-
well done! i know exactly what that is like... many times in the past i 'gave up' logging a day because i didn't want to see that terrible high number. this time around, i'm doing my best to be honest with myself, because by logging those extra calories, or a whole day that put me quite a bit over, it really can serve as…
-
i don't plan on logging or worrying about my intake on thanksgiving or christmas eve/day. will be with family, and don't want to have to worry about jotting down or going online to log the wide variety of foods i will surely be sampling most of those days... haha. i will however, make sure to behave the other days in those…

amazing! you look so much younger... and so happy!

ahaha! love it. thanks for the kind words everyone :)

i've lost a little over 30 lbs, and i've had to replace my pants. i didn't want to have to spend $ on new clothes cause i still got 30-40 more to lose, but even a belt wasn't cutting it... and my work pants were looking -ridiculous-. i've been able to get away with still wearing most of my tops though. just bought a few…

so very in! SW - 223 CW - 192 First goal weight - 170 lbs.
-
ahahaha no, it wasn't just you. at first i was like... i don't even wanna know. then i looked again and came to the same conclusion as you, which i hope was the correct one... :) thank you all for your kind words! can't wait to see what another three months brings. and also, apparently my crazy hair never changes.
-
flexitarian? lol seriously though. if you eat meat, and someone asks if you're a vegetarian, the correct answer is no. and that's just fine. there's nothing wrong with an omnivore that enjoys or even prefers vegetarian meals... and you should never have to justify asking for one.

new parks and rec season on netflix!

i went 700 calories over my goal today. awhoops. there were times in the past when i've tried to lose weight where literally just one day of going over my goal would be enough for me to throw in the towel.. or not log the extra calories out of shame (even with a private diary). then i realized a few important things....…
