I am a big fan of my Fitbit. It does track calories you burn, steps walked and flights of stairs. I wear mine all day and night. It tracks sleep patterns as well. Going to the Y works out great with kids. Sometimes our son will ask to go to the playroom (Y daycare), which helps force us to go up there. There are a number of programs for kids as well. We will probably be signing our up for swim lessons soon.

Cloud 9 seats are awesome. They run about $25 on Amazon.

I blew out my knee playing basketball a number of years back. I use Osteo Bi-Flex and it works wonders. It increases joint lubrication.
