There is, you just haven't met him yet. And I agree with cherdan, great screen name, inspired.

I guess the answer is consistency. I weigh myself once a week, in the morning, just out of the shower. The scales are put in the same place on the bathroom floor. That way nothing changes, except the weight!

Mine aren't linked either and for similar reasons. My close family on FB know I'm dieting and I'm OK with that. But my FB friends will find it kinda wierd that I'm on a diet. I'm male, 58 and 'why on earth would you want to do that?'. I can imagine the s******ing that would go on (not that I'm PARANOID). On the other hand,…

Congratulations on joining MFP. You'll love it here as there are plenty of ideas as well as lots of support and motivation from everyone. Feel free to add me as a friend if you wish (just click on my name and then click Add As Friend).

I guess "portion control" is the boring answer, but when faced with overwhelming amounts of special treats and seconds of pudding, it's the only way. Sorry!
-
Welcome to MFP, you'll be glad you joined. I've sent you a Friend Request.
-
Why?
-
Great advice. Don't take it personally, you obviously touched a nerve in some people. I'd stay away from the Message Boards for a while, just share your thoughts and views with your MFP friends (add me if you wish to). But most importantly, don't fret about it. You're here for YOU not anyone else.

Well done, you look fabulous

It gets easier as you go on, because a lot of the food you eat will already be in your diary and you can easily select it from the Recent items. Better still, save meals that you regularly eat and they'll always be available for you. Good luck and keep it up!

Wow, that's a comprehensive post and list, thanks very much. I think I might just have to print it out for reference.
-
Congratulations on taking the first step. You'll find a lot of friends ready and willing to help, support and motivate you here. I think the best step we can take is eating more healthily, like you I cut out the pies, crisps, sweets and biscuits (although, calorie allowance permitting, I have the occassional Rich Tea or…

Saw your pitiful plea (lol) and sending a request.

Welcome to MFP, you'll really enjoy the help and support you'll get from your MFP friends. I've been here a few weeks now and doing well, thanks to the encouragement of other users I've befriended. Please feel free to add me as a friend if you wish (just click on my photo and then select ADD AS FRIEND).

Sending you a friend request. I've been here a few weeks now and thanks to my MFP friends I'm doing quite well. I wish you lots of success.
-
I'm 58 and fairly new to MFP (joined in September). So far I've lost 16 pounds and I'm sure it's thanks to the encouragement I've got from MFP friends. Please feel free to add me if you wish.
-
Friend request on it's way to you. Glad you've joined us, you won't regret it.

Nice NSV and the first of many (especially now you know what it means lol)
-
Well, you've come to the right place for advice, encouragement and motivation. Everyone is so friendly and the "Well done's" I get every day for meeting targets and losing weight are a great support. I've sent you a friend request, please feel free to accept if you wish.
-
My favourite NSV! Well done.
-
Er,...

Welcome to MFP, a good place to come for help, encouragement and motivation. I'm sending you a friend invite.
-
A great NSV. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Can you walk to/from work? Or part of the journey perhaps. How about involving the family in your training regime, such as going swimming?
-
I'm more of a walker than a runner (well, alright, I don't run at all), but happy to be a friend for support and motivation. Feel free to add me if you wish.
-
Welcome back to MFP. I'm a relative newcomer here, so please feel free to add me as a friend if you wish.
-
Well done Krishna and welcome to MFP. You'll find lots of support and motivation here.

I'm in my late 50's and I've been with MFP for 6 weeks, so still relatively a 'new boy'. Would be happy to befriend you all if you want to add me.
