Maintenance and increasing calorie intake
I've been reading a few articles here and elsewhere about increasing calories to lose weight (there's a group on MFP devoted to the subject: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/3834-eat-more-to-weigh-less) As I'm close to target weight now, just a couple of pounds left, I'm looking to up my calorie intake to maintain,…

Moving towards Maintenance
Since September 2011, when I started here, I've lost 45lbs and I'm now close to my target weight of 11st (154lbs). For the past couple of weeks I've upped my calories slightly. I felt it would be better to ease into maintenance rather than a Big Bang approach. So far it seems to be working. I'm looking forward to the next…

Views on Leslie Sansone "Walk at Home"
Hello, I'd be grateful to hear of any opinions on Leslie Sansone's "Walk at Home" series. My wife is keen to start losing weight, but too shy to go to a gym. We've seen an example of the 15 minute workout on YouTube and she likes the look of it, but we'd be grateful to know if anyone has had success, or othwise, using the…

Half way to target
Just wanted to share my success this morning, my 85th day of logging. I'm now 26lbs lighter than when I started. I was 14st 7lbs (203 lbs) and now I'm 12st 9lbs (177 lbs), halfway to my target of 11st. I've also noted that my waist and chest measurements have gone from 44ins to 40ins and my blood pressure has gone down…

wiiFit - worthIt?
Hi, Qucik question. Is the WiiFit worth getting for someone who is reluctant to go to the gym? Or what about one of the other consoles perhaps, PS3, XBox?

Multi vitamins and minerals
I'd be interested in other people's views on taking multi vitamin and mineral supplements. I know that a balanced diet should give us a daily needs and MFP logging can help to track this. However, not all products list the vitamin and mineral content, so it makes tracking a little tricky. What do think about having a good…

Unexpected but welcome NSV
A welcome NSV I've recently noted has been the absence of heartburn (aka acid reflux) since I've lost some weight. I used to have it all the time, especially at night and just accepted it, popped a Rennie and waited for it to subside. Over the past few weeks I haven't suffered from it at all. So there you are, an…

NSV - almost missed it!
My first NSV, but I nearly missed it. Fixing my belt this morning I struggled to push the pin through the notch. Being half asleep I looked down to see what the problem was. I was now fastening one notch in. Boy, did that wake me up and set me up for the day!

Preparing for an NSV
Just started MFP so still too heavy. I tried walking upstairs to the seventh floor today. What a struggle, but at least I'll have a yardstick to measure progress against in the weeks to come.

Any UK men aged 50+?
I've been on MFP for just over a week now and I'm friends with a fabulous bunch of people who are very encouraging and supportive. However, I'm wary of sending invites to newcomers as the majority of users here seem to be young ladies and I don't want them to think I'm some sort of perv when I send them a friend…

How important is water?
I know we all need water to live, but I'm wondering about the amount we should drink. It's recommended to have 8 glasses a day. I have 5-6 mugs of green tea each day and I count them as my water ration. All said and done it's just hot water and a tea bag. I want to ask, does cups of coffee and other drinks count? In other…

Measurements
Hi, I'm new to MFP so forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong place. I have a question about measurements. On my Check-In page there is space for neck, waist and hip measurements. My neck is easy to work out, but where do I measure my waist? Above the navel or below? Oh, and as I'm a fella, I'm not too worried about my…

Starting today
Well yesterday actually! A quick hello to all of you, new and not-so-new on MFP. I've had a couple of successful attempts at weight loss, via Weight Watchers, but after losing weight it creeps back on. Now I'm approaching 60 I'm hoping it will be third time lucky to lose and keep off my excess weight. I've got 18 months…
