Hi. I live in WA State, USA. I am not new to MFP. I joined many years ago and lost a bunch of weight. Now, since lockdown and turning 50, the weight is creeping back on, particularly in my mid-section. After realizing I'd gained 9 lbs since lockdown, I got back on MFP and am hoping I can get this under control. Sometimes I…

The scale finally moved in the right direction. I lost about a lb and a half. Yay!

Thanks everyone. Yeah, I probably just need to chill and stop weighing myself every day. And I agree with fiddletime. When you are this close to your goal weight it is very easy to reason away not bothering anymore when the scale doesn't move in the right direction. I'm gonna stay the course and hope it irons itself out.…

I understand your plight. When I first lost weight I had more time on my hands. I worked out constantly. Now I'm working full time (from home, web designer) and I have 2 very active kids to watch and I find myself with little time. Honestly, on days that I just can't work out, I eat less. It's as simple as that for me. For…

"Red Light" from the Original Fame soundtrack. Yeah buddy, I get down and funky to that! oh...and "Let's Hear If For The Boy" by Deniece Williams (totally sad, I know)

Because of clothing manufacturers and "vanity sizing", it's all kind of a silly thing to measure yourself against. I wear a 00 in Banana Republic but I have some Levis jeans that I wear a 4 in. It's too much of a moving target to even be that concerned with. I say shoot for having a healthy body fat percentage and call it…

The thing that helped me the most was getting myself a Heart Rate Monitor (I have the Polar FT7). Before I owned one I relied on the calorie number listed on the treadmill at the gym or the database here on MFP. Both weren't accurate for me. A HRM showed me my real calorie burn. That combined with accurate food logging…

Yes...this is good. I also like poached with crumbled feta and salsa on top. Yum!

I also agree with this. Many people guestimate on food and calories burned. I definitely saw better results after buying a food scale to accurately measure food and a Heart Rate Monitor (I have Polar FT7) to accurately count my calories burned. You can't always rely on the figures in MFP or on a cardio machine at the gym.…

I agree with everyone else. We need to see your diary to be able to give a fair assessment.

That's a hard question to answer because I think everyone is different. I did lose 30 lbs (some before MFP) and it took me about 6 months to lose because I wanted to lose it slowly so that it would stay off and so that the changes I made would become lifestyle changes rather than some crash diet. How long should you…

I don't understand this arm pit shaving thing? Huh? Anyway, for me it would be... 1. Being cold all the time! 2. Butt hurts when sitting on hard surfaces 3. I can no longer find anything that fits me in department stores or cheap places like Costco. The smallest women's size they stock is 4. I have to do most of my…

I've never actually been so happy to go to the DMV and get a new license! I was about 140 lbs in the first picture and 112 lbs in the second one.

So inspiring. Thank you for sharing. You look great!

Wow! Time to look for the "unfriend" button on that one.

I must be totally clueless or naive because I have a hard time believing that it would be a struggle to consume 1200 calories...even if you are choosing healthy options. Get yourself a juicer and juice some veggies and fruit. That way you'll be packing in the macro-nutrients and getting plenty of calories. Heck, eat an…

At lunch time I'm too busy (and lazy) to do extensive cooking so typically my meals look like snack plates. Today's lunch was 369 calories and consisted of... 1 large boiled egg 1/2 red bell pepper 3/4 danjou pear 1 oz Trader Joe's Toscano and pepper cheese 10 reduced fat wheat thins ....and a tall glass of water. That…

I agree with this too. I used to wear a size 10 and had no problem buying jeans in dept. stores or at Costco. Now I'm a size 0 and have to order mostly online. I've tried shopping in the juniors department but all the jeans have massive butt bling and I'm a 41 year old woman. I don't need bling on my butt, thank you. I…

This, totally. I now have to shop for bras in the tween section and it's a challenge to find ones that don't have Hello Kitty on them. I do like Hello Kitty but it's a bit of a mood killer, if ya' know what I mean.

To have enough visible ab muscles so that my loose skin/stretch marks have something to wrap around. I have a flat stomach now but the lines on my skin currently look like a road map! Ugggghh!

That does seem like a lot but honestly, when you are more fit and smaller you tend to burn less. When I first started working out (and was bigger) I would typically burn 500-800 in the same hour and a half that I now burn 300-500. Now that I'm more fit it's just harder to get my heart rate up to burn a huge amount of…

I absolutely recommend doing some weight training. Muscle helps burn fat. Also, after the fat is gone, don't you want some muscle to be already there and ready to appear? :) Here's a link worth reading: http://www.livestrong.com/article/27378-building-muscle-helps-burn-fat/ Anyway, I typically burn about 300-500 calories…

I think it totally depends on your body type. Ectomorph, Endomorph, or Mesomorph...to put it in geek terms. I am an ectomorph (small frame/bones, lanky) and a size 12 would make me look overweight. But for some people that might be their ideal, healthy size.

My name is Sandy and I'm addicted to sushi

Ummm...I have a thigh gap and I am none of those things. Whatever.

Fascinating. I might try my own personal study with my husband. He's a big night snacker!

Wow...great information. Thank you.

Not morons. I was sitting at a table full of people who had faced cancer, almost died, and really wanted to answer the "why?" question for themselves. Whether their answer is true or not is obviously debatable...but they somehow wanted to latch on to it as truth (no pun intended :) ) It kind of reminds me of the autism…
