I think we all do that to a degree. Hit it hard, then crash and burn. The thing is, you have a minimum amount of calories you need to function. BMR (basal metabolic rate) is what you'd burn if you stayed in bed all day. So, I had to do a little MFP change to my daily calories using my BMR and TDEE (Total Daily Energy…

Going over on protein isn't such a big deal. That's fuel for your muscles. What I'm concerned about is trying to lose 2 lbs/week. Your body may fight you on so few calories. Check out the eat more to weigh less group here on MFP. This website is another excellent resource: http://bwsimulator.niddk.nih.gov/

Agreed. Start lifting heavier 2-3 days/week, and do 30 day shred on your rest days. Try heavier weights with less reps. You have to challenge those muscles to make them grow.

Your muscles will have some good days and bad. There are days when I can do 10 lbs, but most days are 5 lbs. And some days, I can't even handle the weights (hello, V squat on level 2). Do the most you can without straining. If it's not challenging, then your muscles won't benefit.

Great job! Don't worry about starving or exercising yourself to death for your wedding. He's not marrying the number on the scale. He will see the woman he fell in love with walk down the aisle to become his partner in life and that's all that matters. Keep doing what you're doing and don't forget to engage your core…

Hope to continue to follow you on your journey. You are an inspiration to so many of us!

My toddler is 23 months old. A few months ago, he destroyed my glasses a month after my 1 yr warranty protection ran out. It cost $100 to replace. Not a lot comparitively, but it only took him a few seconds to completely destroy them.

Disclaimer: I'm not a psychologist in any shape or form. In our weight loss journey, we are not only shedding pounds, but all of the emotions and binge eating that led us there. As we tackle those bad habits, the real us is able to shine through because the layers are gone. Maybe it was a divorce, miscarriage, childhood…

Great article, thanks for sharing. I can't help but think how much younger you look now...like you're 10 years younger. Way to go!

Congrats on your baby girl. I hear you about the inability to find time. Kiddos are quite needy until they are about 2 or 3, but it does get better! I have a 15 month old who is into everything. Luckily, he loves being outside, so stroller and wagon rides are fun for both of us. When my older daughter was little and we…

I've been starting off the day with a protein shake (MuscleTech vanilla from Sam's @120 cals/scoop w/ water), and it really seems to help. Perhaps you could try one of those when you get super hungry. Also, sometimes thirst is sometimes mistaken for hunger...probably not this case, but monitor your water.

No one had to say anything. My clothes did all the talking.

Thanks, that sounds delicious. I made some soup the other day, and my hubby looked at me crazy. I think these 100+ temps have got everyone stir crazy!

I had gestational diabetes with my son who was born last year. It was a complete shock, but I managed to only gain 24 lbs for the whole pregnancy. It was scary to think that cheating on my diet or not listening to the nutritionist could hurt my son, so I really took it to heart. It's very inconvenient, but it will be over…

Thanks for sharing. I figured I was doing some good by not eating all of the calories back, but now I can see the whole picture.

Congrats on the new you! You've done a great job so far.

Welcome, sent you an add. I've battled back muscle strains for the past several months, and I'm finally done with the chiropractor. Back to work!

Push ups are great for your arms. Don't forget to work out the biceps and triceps. I love the skullcrusher move for triceps. Use either a barbell with both hands or do one arm at a time with a single weight. Lie down, with the weight in your hand(s), slowly bend at the elbow, palms up, with the weight bending down near…

I hear you. I had enough, too! Welcome!

Good for you! Planning is essential. You wouldn't take a trip to a foreign country without planning, so why do we fail at planning what we eat? I've used the fee for service menu planner, saving dinner body clutter menu, and there are tons more like it out there. I love it when I can just print out the grocery list and go.…

Hi, and welcome! How about preparing and freezing meals for the weekend so there is no excuse for not cooking?

Hmmm, I think we've all used the work out equipment as clothing racks at one point or two. My MIL used to have a pool table in her laundry room. Guess what happened? The only thing I can think of right now that may help motivate you is to look at the space where the workout equipment resides. Is it inviting or cluttered?…

Crap in. Crap out. Nough said.
