  • I'm 43 and working hard to get under 200. I'm currently 231 down from 333. Feel free to add me!
  • bump! Thanx for all the great advice!
  • I agree with Harebearva. I do the same thing. I get up at 3:30 am and am at the gym by 4:30. My husband and I have been doing it for over a year as well. I feel so much better during the day and really miss it when I don't get to go. We have just decided that this has to be our priority and everything else has to fit in…
  • Congratulations! You look amazing! I am on kind of the same journey and reading your story really gives me encouragement that I can get there. If you don't mind me asking a personal question, I started my journey at 333 and am currently down to 230. I am having a tough time with all the excess skin. How did you find it?…
  • I'm an AM workout person. Never thought I would be, but now I love it. I feel so much better, all day long. I do go back to the gym 2 nights a week to meet with my trainer.
  • I always look up everything too! It's shocking how many calories and how much salt are in restaurant meals!
  • Stick with it! I have been on a plateau since February. I've finally increased my calories enough (I just kept adding 100-200 extra at a time. Went from 1260 to 1800/day plus exercise calories.) till it finally seems like its working. Got on the scale today and seem to have lost 2#. Tomorrow is my official weigh in day, so…
  • Nope. Your not alone! You can do it. I started at 333 and am currently down to 235. Stick with it. You will have tough moments but with the help of the people on this site - you can do it!
  • No. Right now MFP has you set at 1400 calories per day. That is what you'll eat on a non-workout day. On a workout day you'll eat your 1400 calories plus your exercise calories.
  • I know it doesn't help you right now, but do you have a Whey isolate protein shake after your workout? I have found that if I have one after I workout I am much less sore the next day. I use GNC's Amp 60. It also helps your muscles re-build faster. The Whey isolate is protein broken down into it's smallest form for fast…
  • Your body needs more than 1000 calories to live on. You should make sure you get closer to the 1260 that MFP recommends. Also if you work out, make sure you also eat most of those calories back as well.
  • Believe it or not I eat it with Petite Carrots.
  • I increased my calories by 200 per day. I didn't gain any weight, but it did take about 3 weeks before the weight started coming off. I believe I was in starvation mode for a couple of months though before I increased my calories.
  • I was exactly the same way. I am a person who loves my sleep and is not a morning person at all. I started getting up early to workout because my husband needed to go to work early and I found that I absolutely love it. It was difficult at first, but I feel so much better all day long and I have more energy. Now if I miss…
  • Your right! These are killer! I do them every week as well.
  • When I went to the doctor's with my daugher and she burst into tears because she weighted 198 and she was 17. I swore from that point forward she wouldn't take the same path as me.
  • I prefer working out early in the AM. Hit the gym at 4:30 am. I find I feel so much better all day long.
  • I always have a protein shake after I work out. My trainer says your body needs to get protein quick after a workout to start rebuilding itself. You just want to make sure you use a whey isolate protein. Its protein broken down into it's best form for quick absorbtion. I don't use protein shakes at any other time.
  • Do you know if your thyroid is under control? Also, what do you have your net calories set at? I've found that MFP can set your calorie count a little low. Maybe your not eating enough to fuel your workouts. Try looking at the webside www.freedieting.com. They have a good calorie calculator.
  • Hi! I'm Kim. I've been heavy all my life as well. I have lost 96 pounds in the last 14 months, but still have at least another 50 to go. I never thought I could do it but with the support of my family and the people on this site I'm doing it! Feel free to add me, I'd love to be able to help!
  • Congratulations! What a huge difference! Keep it up!
  • It's funny that you mention that. I am going through the same exact thing. I had trouble going down the stairs, but could do lunges with no trouble. Luckily, my trainer is interning at a division 1 school for football and was able to pick a sports doctors brain and he said it's probably tendonitis. This is what he had me…
  • You can do it! I had approximately 150 pounds to lose. I have lost 95. It took me 14 months. Try breaking it down into smaller goals. I started at 333 pounds. My first goal was under 300. My next goal was 50 pounds gone, etc. You can do it too! Just think where you'll be a month from now, 6 months from now, year from now!…
  • Congratulations! Awesome Post! Keep up the great work.
  • I work out 6x a week. 3 Mornings a week I hit the gym at 4:30 am. Saturday mornings I get there at 5:30 am and I go 2x a week at 6:30 at night to meet with a trainer. I love to work out early in the morning. I find I have a lot more energy all day long. I love working out with my trainer. I really feel like it's someone…
  • I started my weight loss journey at 333 lbs in December 2010.. I have lost 94 pounds so far and still have 80 to go. I work out 4x a week plus 2x a week with a trainer. I do core, cardio and strength training. Feel free to add me. Keep up the great work!
  • I get up at 3:30 am to be at the gym for 4:30. I usually go to bed between 8:30 and 9:00. I actually love it and have a lot more energy during the day. I've gotten to the point that if I don't go in the morning I feel really tired. I am not a morning person but it really works for me.
  • My trainer has always told me to make sure I eat before working out. He said your body needs the fuel. He also said it's very important to eat some quick digesting protein within 20 minutes of completing an intense workout. I do a whey isolate protein shake.
  • I'm no expert on Crohn's but I have a suggestion for you. My husband has Crohn's disease and when we went to the gym a gentlemen there who is a health coach suggested trying a gluten free diet. He said that Crohn's is actually late stage Celiac or wheat & gluten intolerance. My husband tried his suggestion and has not been…
