My daughter was tested for Celiac disease and her testing came back negative. But we have a friend who is a nurse that suggested we try the diet anyways because my daughter had many of the symptons. Let me tell you. If you have a gluten sensitivity you will notice a difference in a very short amount of time. My daughter…

Can I make another suggestion? I struggled for a year and 1/2 on a plateau. Gaining and losing the same 5 pounds. I moved my calories up and down and just couldn't find the right amount of calories for me. I was working out with a trainer 2x a week. He was helping me with my calories. I was very careful about my logging…

I worked with a trainer for quite a while and always had trouble with leaning forward when I did my squats. He had me put 2.5# plates on the floor and put my heels onto those. It made a huge difference in my squats. It really reduces the amount I lean forward and allows me to get a much deeper squat.

Taking a week off is a great suggestion. When I had my trainer, he always said that everyone should take a week off every couple of months. It gives your body a chance to recover and has a tendency to jump start things. Also, I took a peek at your food diary, I would suggest upping your protein. Doing so will keep you…

I love my Body Media. I love the fact that I know exactly what I'm burning. I also love the direct interaction with MyFitnessPal.

Congratulations! Awesome Job! Keep up the great work.

2 years ago I was where you are now. I weighed 333 pounds and hated it. Tried to lose it and never stuck to it. My husband decided he wanted to join a gym and then decided he wanted to try a trainer. I have to tell you, it was hard. But if your husband doesn't mind getting you a trainer. My advice would be to do it. It…

I too read every word! You are an amazing woman. Thank you for putting your story out there. Keep up the great work! What a wonderful hubby it sounds like you have. I have one myself and it's such a great thing to have someone in your life that loves you no matter what and is willing to kick your butt when necessary.…

In addition to stretching before and after working out you might want to look into foam rolling. Try looking it up on You-Tube. When you work out you are stretching and releasing muscles which have a tendency to create knots in your muscles. If you have some that are not working themselves out they can be causing you pain…

Wow! Luv it! Congrats!

My daughter received a flu shot on a Thursday. Saturday afternoon we noticed that she had huge blotches all over her body. We took her to her pediatrician and ended up having to take her by ambulance to Children's Hospital. She had a massive allergic reaction to it. At first the doctor's told us that there was no way it…

For me it was going with my 16 year old daughter to her yearly doctor's appointment and watching her cry because she was nearing 200 pounds. We signed up for a trainer for the entire family 1 week later.

Lost my gall bladder due to this diet. It's very, very important that you drink tons of water!

Did you start having pain right away? If you didn't, maybe your working out too much. Maybe try taking a week off. Your body might just need a rest.

I love the Asics. You can get them on sale for $60-$70. My trainer recommended them. They are a great all around shoe. I am currently 225 but was around 260 when I first got them. PS: I felt the same way when I started running. If you have access to a treadmill, try starting off with intervals. Run for 20-30 seconds then…

I use GNC Pro Amp 60 and love it. I really can tell if I don't drink it after a workout. It's a little pricey but well worth it. I only take 1 scoop after a workout and the 2# container lasts me about a month.

Thank You! Could you just double check my calculations for me? Here are my numbers: Age 42 Height 5'6" Weight: 233 I have a sedentary job but I work out 6 times per week. I usually burn between 300 -330 calories per workout and I do use an HRM. Thank You for your help! Kim

Absolutely! You should take at least one day a week off. Your body needs the rest!

I love my Asics. Great all around workout sneaker. My feet are never sore after a workout!

My hubby & I are doing this together too. He has lost 100 pounds and I've lost 104. He has reached his goal and is just trying to maintain now. I couldn't do it without him. He's my biggest supporter. He does all the cooking and measures everything for me. Much easier doing it together!

My suggestion would be to change the settings on your diary to include your sodium. It looks to me like you might be getting too much salt. This would cause your body to retain water. You should try to keep it under 2500. Some people suggest under 2000. Also your protein looks a little low. You might try upping that a bit.…

Do you take a good whey isolate protein shake after a workout? I find this helps quite a bit. Do you make sure to stretch out afterwards? Also try looking into foam rolling. I workout with a trainer and he recommends this for everyone. Its a type of massage therapy that you do with a piece of PVC pipe or you can buy an…

Have patience with yourself and your progress! Have faith in yourself! You CAN do this!

Hello! My name is Kimberly. Thanx for the invitation. My journey started in December of 2010 after a visit to my daughter's pediatrician. My daughter was so upset and crying at this visit because she weighed in at 180 pounds. My husband and I decided that enough was enough. We had tried losing weight several times before…

I work out with a trainer twice a week and love it! Just make sure you have a good one that watches and corrects your form. I have been working with a trainer for 1-1/2 years. I love the fact that I have a person outside of my family that is keeping track of my progress. He'll always ask how are your calories, how are your…

Hang in there! My hubby and I get up at 3:30 and hit the gym by 4:30am. We have been for 1-1/2 years. Once you've been doing it a while it will become second nature and you'll miss it if you don't get up and go. We both feel we feel better have more energy all day long.

Awesome! Awesome! Post. Congratulations! Keep up the keep work. It IS so worth it. Those are moments that will stick with you for life! Again Congrats!

By any chance have you calculated your BMI? (Try www.freedieting.com for the calculator) 1000-1100 calories a day doesn't seem like your eating enough. From my understanding you should never eat below your BMI or your body will start to go into starvation mode. I would calculate you BMI and try eating just above that and…

I know how you feel, but 14 pounds in 4-1/2 months is great! You will get there, just keep it up!
