I really don't think your symptoms are to do with your "low carb" diet. Techincally a low carb diet is less than 50g of net carbs (that is carbs less fibre content).

1. yes definately eat those extra calories 2. OMG! What are you doing to burn 800cals in exercise?

For me it depends on my mood ... lol At the moment I am loving the Atkins Advantage chocolate shake (already made up is usually on special for around $2.50 each in Woolworths) as I like the grab and go I also have pea-protein isolate (from discount warehouse) but it tastes disgusting unless you add something (I add weight…

I wouldn't worry too much about the sugar content (for that particular meal) just make sure you are tracking the whole day's worth... Less sugar later in the day won't hurt you.

I'm in .... if i remember to update it each week. Great to meet you all

Middle of summer or not .... roast beef in in the cooker as we speak. I just love a Sunday roast (no matter the weather) and never thought of doing one in the crock pot before. Bring on dinner (and our 36 celcius day)

I know I will enter starvation mode if you take my coffee away! Does that make it a Yes or No then?

/begin rant You all have made me sooo mad.... one of the things I hate about this site. But I forced myself to read all the way through it anyway now am going to add my two cents worth... Give it up with the all the trite lines such as 'starvation mode', and 'too much sugar' etc and the plain old 'just stop it' stuff. Do…

Don't stress over the hormone specialist... I see mine every 3 months or so. Just does a fasting blood test and then goes through the results with me to see what we need to address. He also explained what each hormone does and why and planned out how to balance them for maximum wellbeing and health. So it really depends on…

Wow ... some fantastic advice here so really not much more to be added. 1. Drink your water (add some fresh lemon wedges for something a little different if you find plain water too boring) - and don't worry about going to the loo all the time. that will pass in a day or so -as soon as your body has flushed its system and…

Wow ... some awesome (and fun) suggestions here. i am going to nick a few of them. I am not a morning person .... It doesn't seem to matter what time I go to bed I just do not want to wake up before 7.30am (a bit of a problem when i am meant to go to start work at 8) and it is an effort just to get out of bed at 6:30 so I…

Count me in .... I am 42 (i think) and have an almost 19 yo daughter. I have had irregular periods my whole life (yay lucky me) and was in my 30s when a doctor told me I was most probably entering early menopause and basically told me to live with it. Fast forward a couple of years and my new doctor finally ran hormone…

I am on a natural oestrogen and progesterone cream. Can't say it has either helped or hindered the weight loss but wow! has it helped the libido....

Ditto al the above .... get some professional help and fast. In the meantime, you can try what I do. Like you I was only eating around 200 cals per meal - not by choice but because I couldn't eat more than that before 'gagging'. So, after exercise each day I was only averaging around 7 or 800 calories (if that). My doctor…

Aduncan ... so like me. i too am impatient as it seems like this weight did come overnight. i know it didn't - but that is what happens when you stop taking care of yourself (you stop noticing then suddenly one day you're like -- WTF when did that happen). I weigh everyday (yes, I know very naughty) but I have a separate…

Thanks LowCarbForLife I re-read a lot of the material yesterday and stated writing up some meal plans last night. It appears I am on OWL Rung 5 with the foods I am eating (and around net 50g carbs per day) and still losing. It is not so much the lowcarb thing that is making me achy - it is a long term health condition…
