  • Thanks for the tips. I found a site that ships to my address, and ordered my Polar G1 GPS unit! It should be here in 5-7 days! I can't wait to try it out
  • I definately redeemed myself today. I worked out and ended up under my caloric limit on the day. I feel so much better! Thanks for the support:happy:
  • Thank-you for posting that. I found it very informative. I purchased the Polar FT60 a couple of weeks agao and so far, I am happy with my purchase. I don't swim, but I am training for a duathlon next month, so I thought a HRM would compliment my training well. The one problem I'm having is finding an online vendor who…
  • I would suggest choosing level one to start, and begin by doing all the beginner modifications they show you. You may not think it's hard when you look at it, but believe me, it's very difficult and yet doable. I work out about 2-3 times a week doing cardio at the gym, and I play soccer, so I consider myself fairly active,…

  • In my university health education class, we were told that everyone should get 1g of protein per 1kg of body weight a day. One gram of protein per 1 pound of body weight seems very high and unrealistic. We were also told that if your body doesn't use up all the protein it takes in, it will turn into fat storage cells…
  • I prefer the elliptical. I usually do between 25 and 45 minutes per workout, depending on how much time I have. Sometimes I can do 60 minutes if I'm in the mood :smokin: My speed fluctuates between 5-6 mph, and I usually don't drop or go over that limit.
  • I was working out today, and I came across a very upbeat song that really got me moving. It's an oldie from my generation, "Saturday Night." What an awesome surprise! I'm curious to know what everyone else's favourite tunes are that get their hearts and bodies pumping?
  • Thank you so much for all of your suggestions. They were very helpful in deciding what I should fill my plate with. I did a pretty good job about not going over on my calories considering it was also a buffet. Only 100 cals over, so I was very happy about that. Thanks again for all your help! I really appreciate it.
  • It was my sister's birthday a few days ago, and we are having a get-together tomorrow to celebrate. She wants to go to this chinese restaurant, but I'm afraid I have no idea what types of food I should get that won't put me over my limit. If anyone has some suggestions on what I should fill my plate with, or what foods I…
  • Congratulations! It's always good to hear that someone's hard work has paid off!
  • It could be that you're under-logging what you actually consume. I tend to do that when I go out for dinner, and don't know how many calories I've actually injested. Or maybe your settings are set too high? You may have selected moderately active when your settings should read sedentiary. Or it could also be that you are…
  • Yes, thank you so much. I'm always looking for simple strength training excercises.
  • If you are looking to fill up some of your calorie bank, pour yourself a glass of skim milk (if you're a dairy person), squirt a little chocolate syrup in it, and warm it up in the microwave. You get the benefit of calcium from the milk, and iron from the chocolate syrup. Plus, who doesn't like hot chocolate? I use this…

  • I too am a self-diagnosed binge eater. I'm having a real hard time trying to find ways to fix this problem. Like you, I feel so guilty after I eat way more than I know I'm supposed to. It's a train reaction for me - once I'm in the kitchen, I can't stop opening cupboards and popping every ounce of food I can get in my…
  • That clears things up. Thanks!
  • I'm a huge fan of green tea and I've tried a variety of different brands. My favourite is Lipton's green tea and I've been drinking it for over a year. Lipton's also makes a good white tea with pomegrate that tastes good and smells remarkable, too!

  • I am a huge fan of tea, and I drink it every day. I only stick to green tea since it is the best for you, but I've always wondered if I can count the consumption towards my *8 glasses* of water/day? If someone knows the answer, I would love to know! Thanks!
  • I'm definately going to try some of those techniques to see if they will work me. Thanks for all the help and support!!
  • Hello, I'm new to MFP and im 143 at 5'6 and 20 yrs. I know I'm in a healthy range for my weight, but I've put on 10 pounds in a month, and I'm worried I'm going to put on more to a point where my weight isn't healthy anymore. That is the reason I signed up. My problem is, when I start eating, I can't stop. I keep piling…
